  1. Retention to me is the bigger issue than the talent. He couldn't do anything with Rebraca, but why Ihenacho and Sims decided to bail will always be baffling. They both made poor choices to leave. It is unforunate that Levias got hurt, because he would have brough something that UND needed right now.
  2. Women: Got punched in the mouth by a better team Men: Heart can only go so far against a team on a mission
  3. They are good enough to finish in the top half and finish with a winning record in conference and overall record. Still a hell of a lot better than last year. However... not ready to challenge yet.
  4. Women are doing better than the men Lets leave it at that.
  5. I've watched ORU and NDSU. SDSU is a step ahead of them right now. This has to be the year they break through.
  6. SDSU and USD are on another level. We are not there yet.... Get the 2022s on campus.
  7. 41-21 at the half. UND has no answer for Wilson.
  8. Get it to under 10 at the half and then regroup.
  9. 16-6 SDSU at the under 12 No answer for Wilson down low
  10. This game looks to be over before it started. Wake up UND
  11. Zeke Mayo is going to be a problem for years to come 10-2 SDSU
  12. UND has never done well against Wilson I can't wait to see him graduate.
  13. Another close but no cigar situation for UND, despite a furious comeback, they just didn't get enough to beat Kansas City. Can't hang their head too low as it is time to hit the road down I-29 to take on the Jackrabbits of SDSU... who look to be the cream of the Summit Crop About SDSU: Last Year was a carbon copy of recent SDSU squads. Great regular season and then Sioux Falls happened. This time it was a loss in an absolute classic to Oral Roberts in the semi-finals. Now, compare to other seasons, this wasn't as bad. However, the frustration is beginning to mount in Brookings. The talent is certainly there, it just hasn't come together for a trophy yet. This year, SDSU has been off to a roaring start. With Baylor, Douglas, a great bench, and a great incoming player in Zeke Mayo, SDSU has been a machine, off to an 8-0 start in the conference. Running the table is certainly in the conversation for this squad. They are even doing it with Freidel bascially on the bench. How this team lost to Idaho in non-conference.... I don't even know. However... Sioux Falls is all that matters and until they finally get to the finish line and March Madness... there will be questions. About Eric Henderson (3rd Year: 55-21 overall record, 30-6 Summit) Hendo is off to yet another hot start for SDSU. All he has done since he has taken over as head coach is finish first place in the conference in the regular season. The only missing right now: An NCAA tournament apperance and run. They have the horses, can they break through this time? Key Player: Baylor Scheierman (6'6 Sophomore) The best way to describe this play: Walking Triple Double. Capable of getting one at any time. Baylor is currently averaging aroung 15 ppg, 8.6 rpg, and 4.2 apg. The biggest thing that has improved for Baylor was his 3 point shooting, which is now around 50% from 3. Series History: UND holds a 106-91 advantage against SDSU, but the Bunnies have dominated the D1 series, 12-1. UND hasn't won at Frost at the D1 level, but have come close. Milestone Watch: -Paul Bruns has scored 281 points this season, the freshman record at UND is 454 points, set by DAE. He is 173 points away from tying the record. He need to average around 15.7 ppg in the next 11 games to break it. He is averaging around 14 ppg so he might need to get that up, or get another game or two. Other Games: ORU (7-2) @ Omaha (2-7): Last time these teams met, ORU smashed the Mavs by 45. The Golden Eagles looking to bounce back after a tough loss to NDSU and a closer than expected win against UND. The Mavs got blown out by Denver. Mavs need to start showing some lift soon. Good news? Still have that two game lead over UND for the last spot in Sioux Falls. Bad news? They way they keep playing.... they aren't going to make it. NDSU (5-3) @ USD (5-3): Want to find the hottest team in the Summit? Check out the team in Verm, they have won their last 5 after starting 0-3 and find themselves back near the top half of the Summit. Bison also got a shot in the arm with the return of Grant Nelson much sooner than expected. NDSU won in Fargo, but this will be a tougher task in Vermillion. KC (4-3) @ DU (4-5): Denver is making a charge with their new coach and looking to get to .500. KC coming off a big weekend sweeping the NoDak schools at home. Important game for DU to get a key sweep of a team in the middle of the pack. Keys: 1) Play 40 minutes 2) Win the 50/50 balls 3) Pick Your Poison The Call: So the betting experts have UND as a major dog in this one. Just like they were against NDSU and ORU. Well they managed to make both of those games close, why can't they here. SDSU will be their toughest task with their lineup, so UND is going to have to play a perfect game to have a chance. Progress made... but the Bunnies will be too much at Frost. SDSU 88-74 Games is on ESPN+
  14. From my expereices, the FB showing up and being active in the student section for basketball was a lot more under Bubba when it was under Muss. Not saying they didn't show up to games, but not to this level of organization or energy they bring. Without them, it would be pretty quiet (and that is a whole other issue I could spend posts and posts about when it comes to student sections at UND... even hockey is not immune to this issue)
  15. Wayne did write two game articles after their wins, so they are out there.
  16. I think that it is a sign of a team that has a good locker room and wants to play for each other. It is a shame that this team wasn't able to put a healthy product on the floor. Get some talent to buy into the culture for next year and go from there.
