What does the asterisk on the US number really mean? Are the numbers reliable at all? Or severely understated for the US?

Sounds like any contacts signed now won't go into effect until July 1 unless the nhl season restarts. So no burning a year off that entry level contract by signing now. Takes away some incentive.
