Protests...i have no idea. Republican and Democrat politicians both hate protests when they are carried out by members of the other party. Believe it or not, conservatives change views over time too. I'm curious what the plethora of social restrictions are. The only one I can think of relates to abortion. I would typically think of gay marriage and what not but the GOP has eased up on that front considerably.

The fact checkers are pretty bad. For it being a pretty easy job they tend to give all inferences (reasonable and unreasonable) towards people on one side if the aisle while not extending the same courtesy to the others.

Had Barack Obama run for office in 2020 on his 2008 platform he'd have been called every name in the book, by his own party. Bigot, homophobe, God knows what else. Probably Uncle Tom? Bernie is much further left on pretty much every matter than Don is to the right. Don's 2016 platform...kinda hard to label necessarily on a right-left scale. He's generally all over the place (for better or for worse).

Joe Biden told black people that Republicans want to put them back in chains. He isn't capable of uniting anything. Barack Obama had his famous "cling to guns and religion" statement (paraphrased) about Republican voters. Hillary Clinton referred to Republicans as a basket of deplorables. Let's not pretend Democrats have had any sort of honest message of unity over the past 15 years. I'm not going to claim Republicans really have either but man, what a dumb alleged statement from that guy lol.

They lost and instead of working with the folks who won to advance things they both wings of the party care about, they got mad, took their ball and went home. Purity tests are for losers, actively subverting your party because you don't like who won the 2016 primary is even worse.
