  1. I am picking NoDaks in the hope we can add "Fighting" before it to make it flow better with "University of North Dakota." This is the choice that does the best job of honoring the past (Fighting Sioux) while representing the current and the future. Whether we are Sioux, Ojibwe, Arikira, European, African, etc... we are all NoDaks if we support University of North Dakota Athletics. I don't think the name brings along a negative connotation and there can be creative logo possibilities created in conjunction with the interlocking "ND." In reality, they will always be the Fighting Sioux to me. It was engrained in me since I was very young. But if I must choose, I will pick the name that best represents who we are and also pays respect to the past. NoDaks is the only clear cut choice in that regard.

I will also be voting for Nodaks. Nodaks was for a time a second name to Sioux. Going with Nodaks will accommodate fans still viewing the teams as the Sioux (unofficially) if they so desire with more continuity with tradition than any of the other choices. It is also the best choice for those who preferred no new name at all.

  2. If the Bengal defense is as bad as its previous games indicate, we should be able to play our ball control game to great effect, keeping Ratelle and company fresh. Just don't put the ball on the ground four or five times like we did last week...we may not get all but one of those fumbles back today.

  3. Just say no to (anything) Hawks. We don't need a cliché for a name. I can live with any of the others but prefer Nodaks because it is unique and analogous to Illini and Sooners, names that respective fan bases have long ago embraced. Additionally, Nodaks does not require assuming a new identity since it has historical use.

  4. Run a couple of pass plays to Santiago out of the RB position. Have him split out a couple plays at the WR position. Sit him midway through the 3rd qtr to avoid injury and see what the other RBs can do...

  5. I concur.  The music was obnoxious.   Ill be at the Eastern Michigan / Pokes game Saturday and will post if it changed.

Wyoming fans are very hospitable.  Even when their biggest rival, Colorado State, shows up, they rib them, but are nice.

I'd be interested to know  if they tone things down as they need to do. Good luck to the Cowboys the rest of the way.

  6. Was at the game. First let me say that all the Wyoming people I interacted with, which were several, were cordial and hospitable, even while their team was being taken to the woodshed.  I have to say the game day experience of being at the "War" was lacking to say the least. Through most of the game rap/hip-hop noise was blasted intermittently at ear splitting pitch. All the Wyoming people I was around thought it was just as obnoxious as I did, but as a UND fan I was doubly exacerbated by the fact that they blasted this crap while UND was in its offensive huddles, but not when Wyoming was in theirs. Heading back to Cheyenne for the night I listened to the post game show from Laramie on the radio. About 40 per cent of the calls were Wyoming fans complaining about the  "music" ruining their game day experience just as much as losing to a "mediocre"FCS team ruined it.

  7. I called the WYo club or whtever the booster name is today and found that you need to give a $100 donation. I may park in the free lots north of there and just not have obvious open containers. Cocktail in a coffee mug for example.

100 bux is too steep for me so I may stick with creme soda in the north lots.

  8. As of this morning there are still good seats to be had. Mine is on the 40 yard line 30 rows up. Probably be sitting among Cowboy fans but that's OK, I don't think they bite.
