  1. Yeah, I was logged in and watched the countdown go to zero...seating chart loaded up...searched for best available...and nothing. Not even for 1 ticket.
  2. Seriously...why not? We havent showed up in the 3rd period already, might as well go for broke.
  3. I can't speak for others - but I really didn't experience any issues with staff at the Target Center. People running concessions were friendly and kept the lines moving, and we had absolutely no issues with ushers, no one hassling us about tickets, etc. Also, as a UND alum and fan living in the Twin Cities area, I would likely not travel to Sioux Falls for a conference tournament. One thing to remember is that for fans living in the Twin Cities always have to travel to see Sioux hockey, so it is really nice having one weekend a year where we don't. And if for some reason UND doesn't make it to the Frozen Faceoff, you can bet attendance in Sioux Falls would be even more horrendous than it would be in Minneapolis. Husky fans couldn't even handle driving 1 hour south this year, Duluth is 6 hours away, and even Omaha fans who would have the closest drive, are not going to show up either - they certainly didn't show up to their own outdoor game a few years ago.
  4. They weren't even enforcing the wristbands very well either - my brother and I hightailed it to the bar after Denver embarassed us, and went out the "No Re-entry" doors so we didn't get bands. After drowning our sorrows for a bit, we returned for the Miami/SCSU game, went through the standard ticket line. When they scanned our tickets and got the "These tickets have already been scanned" line, we just said we forgot to get bands, and the ticket guy just said to go talk to some guy sitting at a table near the ticket lines, and actually let us into the arena. We skipped the table, and just went back to our seats. It was my first time at TC for hockey, and like someone else said, it is what it is...a 25-year old rundown basketball arena. Good beer selection (way better than the Ralph), and we didn't eat in the arena, as there are plenty of good places to grab a bite in downtown.
  5. Thanks for the info - just recently changed cable providers and realized their "Sports Package" that I have doesn't include ESPNU...I'll definitely be using this for the games this weekend.
  6. Looking forward to this one! I haven't made it to a game in nearly 2 years - hoping there's a good crowd of Sioux fans in the building tonight...
  7. I'm stressed as hell from the game, but the "coaxhwa" comment made me smile...I don't even know what he was trying to say with that one...
  8. Unfortunately, you're out of luck in Denver. Schell's only distributes to Minnesota, the Dakotas, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. I stock up everytime I go visit family in Minnesota....
  9. I was in a similar situation and bought this a few months ago - works great: http://www.amazon.com/IO-Crest-Convertor-support-SY-ADA31025/dp/B006FILNV6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1381521103&sr=8-1&keywords=vga+to+hdmi+with+sound
  10. I had an minor stutter that was happening every few seconds throughout most of the game. It wasn't bad enough to prevent me from watching but was definitely distracting. I tried viewing with multiple video quality settings on the media player (720p, 540p, 320p) and all had the same minor stutter. My laptop was hooked up directly to my modem (no wi-fi), and I've had no issues streaming both 1080p/720p HD content from other sources in the past, so I don't think it's an issue on my end. In the 2nd and 3rd periods, I had a few moments where the feed completely froze - including the penalty shot. When it worked, the sound and picture looked fantastic - but the almost constant minor stuttering made it tough to watch at times. One other minor idea...any way we can get the media player control bar to hide when viewing in fullscreen? Seems like most online video players hide that control bar until you move you mouse to the bottom edge of the screen. Just my 2 cents...
  11. I wasn't in Columbus in '05, so I'll second this one - Omaha is the trip to beat so far. Just seeing the massive amount of Sioux fans, and of course a sweep made it all that much better. And I'll never forget everybody grouping together by the locker room entrance chanting "This is our house", "Let's Go Sioux", and "Hobey Baker" as the team left the field. Simply awesome. If you haven't seen it, the Omaha newspaper has a great shot of this in their Battles on Ice slideshow. http://odc.omaha.com/index.php?u_page=5002&p=4295#photo-showcase-battles-on-ice
  12. Yep - making the easy drive up from Kansas City, should be a fun weekend. I'm bringing the girlfriend with too, it'll be her first Sioux hockey game(s) and she doesn't seem to understand how many of our fans will be there.
  13. Defense indeed...looked up the stats - this is the 8th home game this year where we've given up a goal in the first 5 minutes of the game. Might be nice to not play from behind all the time, especially at home.
  14. No kidding...anybody have a stat on how many games we've given up a goal in the first 5 minutes? It gets really old week after week....
