I wouldn't call 26-12-5 a bad record, in fact not bad if you ask me with how young the team was. If you look at the record that is 42-31-7 that is still a winning record. Besides who are we going to replace Blais with and get the same results? Frankly I think UND is a goaltender away from winning an NCAA title. Just my opinion. And the last point I do expect Thomas to go out of his way to get Dean a contract. Dean is a proven winner and he is also a Division one coach in a top program as opposed to being a Division two coach. Dean's contract should take precedence over all others.

I think Scott is right if Blaiser leaves, Roger will probably be right behind him. It was rummored a while back if Preisdent Charles had changed the name his head would have rolled very fast. I even heard that a prominant alumni (it wasn't Ralp) was going to push for his removal. I don't Roger better dick around too long or he may be drawing unemployment...

The rumor I had heard was the Columbus job but that one is filled. Guys Lefty is right, there is not way Dean's Standing should be equal to the other coaches around, Dean should be paid more than Lennon, Roebuck and et al. There is no comparison Roger better stop f#(king around and get Dean signed to a contract.

I will go on Record to say that UND is going to challenge for an NCAA title, if not win it. I think its just a matter of time. The pieces of the puzzle are coming into place. Sure there are people that are going to say that I am all wet but look at UofM they won two NCAA titles with Mediocre goaltending why can't UND... I think tallent level is simular. Beside when Vanek goes pro all things being equal UofM will be good but not three peaters.

Ah maybe we can get Canisus and BSU to come to the second annual cup cake classic/tourney... The non-conference schedule seems a little light as in not enough games. Last year UND has 10 non-conference games.

I think Blaiser will get an extension, but if not I am sure UND will be able to find a coach that can continue the winning tradition. My bet would be someone like Sandelin or Steve Johnson or maybe a high profile coach. I know one thing the Goaltending situation at UND has got to get better, and if that means getting a goalie consultant and or a sports psychologis I think UND better consider it too...

Actually if you want to be technical I don't think Blaiser has cut many player either. IF you look at the paper it said that Siembieda wasn't coming back. You can read it any way you want but he probably was told his playing was going to be diminished, or he saw the writing on the wall and decided not to come back... So now, lets fast forward to the season. Ranny and Sofie are walk on players and I would bet a dollar to a donut both players are not going to survive the pre-season, I mean why should they hang around... I wonder if we are going to hear how Blais is kicking off non-scholly players... Hum Here is the bottom line, there is a lot of pressure to be the hockey coach at UND (as well as other high profile schools) it is unreasonable to expect Blaiser to ride out bad goal tending/less than stellar play for the sole purpose hey, its not nice to cut a scholarship player... I think that kind of logic is flawed.

Some have been hacking on Deno, in many instances claim that if a kid come to UND to play on a scholarship that coach should have to stick with that player no matter what. What do others think.

I doubt that Eades is going to be the next coach at UND. There are many would probably be ahead of him as a candidate. I am sure that Sandelin for one would get a look and would probably be a top candidate, Steve Johnson would be another. UND is a high profile program so UND is going to have to have a high profile person to coach... I don't blame Blaiser for being upset. If Blaiser leaves, you might see Thomas move on too, I wouldn't be surprised if Roger would shown the door if he botched this one. Dean is very popular around Grand Forks and the WCHA, jerking Blais around or putting him on the same par as the Division two coaches at UND is not fair, or career enhancing.

I think that Josh proved that he didn't have what it takes to be a member of UND a .845 percent save percentage is not exceptable. I think Jake is going to be hard pressed to make the team his senior year...

I am sorry but Blais needs to have a contract. No offense but Blais is worth more to UND than Lennon or any of the other coaches. Facts are that DENO is the man at UND...

Actually I Like bigger goalies because they cover more of the net, Minnesota proved that you could win an NCAA with a Medocre goalies like Hauser. I think he being bigger helped a little.

Let me say this I would be willing to bet that Sofie and RanFranz will not be on the team next season. There is no reason to Keep Sofie around and It would be questionable keeping Marc around too... I still would like to see Ziggy, Brandt and Lammy (I see no reason why not) sharing the goal tending duties this season. All other other gone... I see no reason for Siembedia to come back, if he is playing it means the Sioux are desperate...

Losing him wouldn't be that big of a loss and I wouldn't be surprised to not seem him back since he did nothing on the score sheet this season...

Apparently we tried to get the goalie that Wisconins have coming in next fall. But with Eaves, I have talked to a reliable source that says he is a nut case. I wonder how long he will last at Wisconsin... As most of us know 10 freshman in the line up could be murderous...

I think the Devils are going Duck hunting and they are going to get their limit and then some. I can see Scott Stevens pasting little Paul Karyia right now. Good bye Oates its going to hard skating with a forward in your breezers with you... The Ducks are riding a high but NJ is mean and nasty. This is actually the way I would like to see UND play, sure its not always pretty but we have the guys to do it. It starts with Goal tending and works it way out... Keep the shots to the outside and play defense. Some one skates in front of your net your know their block off. Counter attack but smartly... The Wild used this against Vancover and Colorado but ran into a hot goaltender and failed against the Ducks..

If that happens that will be so huge, Massen has the potential to be an All American, however, the effort doesnt' always seem to be there. Massen has sweet hands, get skating ability and I have likened him to fformer Boston Bruin great Cam Neely (who unforunately his career was shortened by a dirty Swed name Ulfie, yep I am still bitter about that), however, Cam played with a mean streak, James needs to find that...
