  1. WOW a quality post from Poncho. I take everything Ive said about you back.
  2. The signs went the way of student tickets this year....Look up next time ur in the arena
  3. hey not so much Poncho here, take a hike buddy
  4. It hard to get playing time when you are sitting out the mandatory one year after transferring. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  5. Lets start a push to get some College Hockey highlights on ESPN. Irmens goal on the penalty shot made the top ten one nite, exciting stuff. Lets show the hockey that is being played on ESPN
  6. Well this series went from exciting to blah....Ziggy did call me just now to let me know that hes playing in Duluth about as much as Jako this yr for the sioux. Look out for Ziggy in 05-06 though..
  7. Sidney Crosby turned professional at age 5. But ne way, Moorhead Spuds have 13 home games this year so get ur ass down to Moorhead and watch Van de Velde and Brian Lee play some puck. Not to mention they got some other good skaters. there number one in the state in preseason polls and should be there come march.
  8. One of the hardest things to do is come on this websit and praise the Gophers but i think rite now it has got to be done. Potulny and Irmen are incredibe to watch together. They've played together now for 6 years in a row, nearly every shift together. They know where each other are on the ice, the chemistry i see watchin the gophers is unbelievable. They make it look easy, they make it look fun, they make it look exciting and i know it is early but they look like they are for real.
  9. Great question, I am Phil Lamourex's BIGGEST fan and Jordan Parise's SMALLEST fan, but have nothing but good things about Jake. WHere hte hell has he been all year. Hes getting no playing time and seems like he mite not even be getting a chance. Forget about the "he sucks" stuff, he is a solid goalie who has proven his talent over the past years. Blais was never known as a good goalie coach but it looks like Hakstol picking up right where Blais left off "Jake and Phil Share Time in Leading Sioux to Final Five Victory"
  10. Just a quick thought: What are everyones expectations for the Fighting Sioux hockey team this year? Looking at a recap of the first 25 years of the USHL, it shows Hakstol having a record around 8 wins 45 losses and a couple of ties his first season as a coach. It would have been a different story if Parise and Bochenski had stuck around, but then again Vanek would still be here too. Clearly this is not going to be a season of highs, but the key will be for Hak to get the guys working together for the playoffs. The three keys for the Sioux skaters this year will be. 1. keeping the Ralph full and loud every home series 2. Getting better output from the leaders Schneider, Greene, Jones, Fuhr, STAFFORD 3. Peaking at the playoffs like Minnesota did 3 years ago and like Denver did last year.
  11. Its too bad that Duluth didnt get shipped out to the BC, Michigan bracket because it wouldve assured an ALL WCHA Frozen Four. Wisc, Duluth, Minny, and The Sioux. Instead the showdown of the tourny is gonna be the Gophers playing Duluth then the Sioux again. Different results this time around.
  12. The problem with UND hockey is that the team is too deep. And because of this some forwards like Porter, go unnoticed to media and to many fans. Porter is one hell of a player that has size and an unteachable work ethic. Some forwards have found UND a hard place to play because all of a sudden the leading scorer of the USHL is a third liner and they can't handle it. Case in point Fournier, Connely (spell check) but then the guys like Fylling and Porter and Palmiscno, who all work their asses off everyday for Blais are goin to be rewarded this year with a National Championship ring.
  13. First off Zig will be around for All 4 years and so will HIS fan club cheering him on proudly....next, rumor has it Blais is not the best coach when it comes to goalies. He likes to play "head" games and doesnt really have faith in any of his goalies. He wont say whos starting til 2 mins til game time and one goalie will play headless on a friday nite and not dress saturday. However, I like what he did last weekend, Brandt let in a weird, weak goal and Blais still played him Saturday. Last year he wouldve not even dressed Brandt, I think Blaiser needs to put his faith in a goalie and let him play headless some nites and get rocked other nites, if he does get rocked Bo and ZPar will each put 3 in the net and Sioux will still win 7-6.
  14. So the Sioux powerplay has been well not very good this year. I will say it got better last weekend but still it sucks. Im not a stat guy but i go to all the games and i cant help but notice the lack of size in UND Forwards in the past few years. Remember Lee Goren, goals were automatic on the PP with him out front. Colby probably should never play on the point again on a powerplay and Massen should get his ass off the bench or not even dressing and get out front of the net on the POwerplay....
  15. How about the powers that can, play some Linkin Park "Crawling" for warm ups and then some "Sandstorm" "Zombie Nation" and some sweet techno music. This years music is horrible. The intro to the Sioux line up on the Dak could be better too. "Lose Yourself" was awesome. Maybe some Saliva or Foo Fighter "All My LIfe" and then after a Sioux goal a song should be played like the same one everytime.
  16. Obviously Hrkac was the best ever. Second best would be everyone on the 87' team. How bout a close third being Greg Johnson he was awesome to watch at the old Ralph
  17. The old Ralph was rediculous. I remember being about 10 and watching a third period Sioux comeback against the Gophers. It was the loudest I ever seen it. Last year against Colorado College was as close as the New has got. My ears would bleed after games at the old, the new one not so.
