Don't feel too bad. Four of us got together last night, we're in FL for the winter, and one guy had a WCHC account, so he streamed to his TV. Both audio and video were terrible to start the game and the audio and video were not in sync most of the evening. We decided to just shut off the sound, listened to Tim and watched the not too bad video. Part of the game the radio was ahead of the TV but the latter part of the game the video was ahead of the radio. Even the WHCA audio was off the video. Makes us realize how good it is to have the equipment that the Ralph has. Tonight will be much better!

I thought Frank Serratore absolutely nailed it with his comments. He did not act like a whiner or sore loser, he made the point that his team got hosed. AF is not as skilled or speedy as DU and many fans who have not experienced the reffing advantage that DU has received this year will think that Frank had to have his boys clutch, grab and poke more than normal just to try to keep pace. I too lost every once of respect I had for Monty on the weekend UND played there in November. It is hard to like opposing players or coaches, but Monty WAS one I actually liked. All coaches should stand up for their bench, some do it with dignity like Serratore, Blais or Berry and then their is Montgomery. That series and the series DU had vs the Clowns a week previous put Motzko way ahead of Monty in the most likely opposing NCHC coach to succeed category.

I don't love Motzko, but I hate him less than Montgomery

Who was Plant drafted by? How do you think they feel about Monty playing an injured player?

The Smith penalty was enough for NCHC to take a look at it’s officials. Add on Monty’s influence to both that penalty and the disallowed goal, they should reprimand Monty too! The worst part of Monty’s weekend is that he brought back a player who was obviously still injured and exposed him to further injury! We all assume that UND has been too cautious when our players are injured, they are never allowed on the ice in game situation until 100%! If I was a parent or friend of a future DU recruit or player I would be outraged that a coach would do that to a player on his team.

There is statically a chance that only the top 11 in the current pairwise will make the tourney, unlikely but possible. Canisius, Ohio State, Quin, BC and St Clown are not in the top 16 but could theoretically win their perspective conference tourneys. Obviously if the clowns are in the Sioux are out no matter what, but assume that the other four make it the Sioux then must be in the top 12! Sweeping the clowns should put them in the top 11 or better, one would think! Of the five teams mentioned it is a strong possibility that two or three will make it. No one would be surprised to see BC win their tourney. The BIG FU is a toss up. Quin is down but not out. Canisius is tied for first before the tourney.

Winning the world juniors is an impressive feat but not as impressive as winning the NCAA frozen four. Will any of those boys be here next year or the year after? A great freshman player or two, in this case 7, can help win the FF but it takes a team of talented and gritty players with experienced role playing leadership to win it all. You need the guys who will dive in front of a puck more than the ones who can dangle the puck.

Before the game I wrote down the numbers of their big line so I could keep track. They are no doubt good and skilled, but they were not the "best line in the country" as they seemed to be billed. The Hobey committee should watch a replay of this game before they give #21 the prize. Maybe consider Pogo. I kept noticing their number 9 more than the numbers 21, 15 and 27 of whom I thought Foo was their best guy! I think if you had taken Jost and Boeser (both healthy) with Foo instead of his normal line mates and they played against us yesterday, we would have had a loss or a closer game. Take nothing away from Pogo, who I think is UND's best player, he always does what he is asked and never fails to excel.

Great quote, gives you some respect for their coach. At times UND controlled the puck like it was a bunch of dads playing against their kids. Pogo played like a big kid playing against squirts.

I am just glad we have played somewhat meaningless games so far, they are all important in the PW, but so far the competition has not made for exciting hockey. If I had to watch a close game against Denver or any other NCHC/good team with the streams we have received so far this year I would demand a refund from NCHCTV! Last night sucked so bad I turned it off and listened on the radio.

Grouix should become a Sioux, it is only natural! I hope he can figure that out!

I have watched the Sioux for 45 years, I can never remember a Sioux player who was such a whiner as Anus(a). Either they played with pain or they stepped out of the way and let someone else do their job (next man up). I do remember more than once someone going to the locker room, getting stitched up and maybe even getting a shot of something to kill the pain and come back to play! But never to continually run back and forth to the locker room (theatrics) while on national television which was show time! It is easy for me to say he is a big baby, but what other conclusion is there?

Much speculation and nothing can be for sure until the coaches know who is staying and who is leaving. Does anyone know anything about how to rate and in what order these recruits would come in, have any been eliminated or de-committed? D: Bast, Poolman, Johnson, Evers, Kiersted, Peski, (are there others besides Tychonic?) F: Jost, Yon, Mattson, Bowen, Hoff, Jones, Smith, Cakebread (sounds like he may be out of picture), F: Are all of these part of the future? Mismash, Keane, Adams, Hain and Senden Are there other names besides goalie recruits that are not up there?

These guys have to think of their future in the game and now is their highest exposure time ever so they have to do what is right for them. But, if most stay another year (we know that Ladue and seniors are gone) this team would be almost certain to play in another FF championship game. It would be great fun to smoke Quinnipiac again and listen to their whiner coaches excuses!

Top lines give a small plus to Michigan, Defense give a plus to Sioux, 2nd lines equal, 3rd and 4th lines give a small edge to Sioux and Goalie is a plus for Sioux. All the TV timeouts favors goes to Michigan but the home ice and last change goes to Sioux! Sioux win 4-2 Beezer, Stetch, Pogo and Jewels gets a shorty!

Eventually Goofs will get a coach, Wisco is in the process of doing that now, ASU will create a good team with their recruiting ability and build a program soon, Michigan and ND are already good, Mich State is in a down cycle but will return, Ohio and Penn are improving each year so the BIG will become respectible. As much as I hate the Goofers I enjoy a chance to play against them when they have a chance to win and when it matters. The BIG so far has been a flop but adding ND and ASU will be a step in the right direction for their conference. Now all they have to do is get rid of Lucia and they are for real.

Stayed at the Hilton last time the Sioux were there, it was close walking distance to the arena and they had a surprising lower rate than we expected. Many good places to stop along the way to the arena for for a beer and snacks.

The Friday game was a loss to a good team, take away the bad angle goal that Cam will let in once in his college career and you have a completely different game and maybe outcome. No one in the NCHC will be surprised if Duluth is in the FF4 or in the championship game. You cannot convince anyone that the Denver game Saturday was anything more than both teams showing up because they were told to be there. Neither team gave more than 75%. Go Sioux!

Are games on UND webcast both nights?

It makes as much sense as the Sioux playing the Minnesota State High School Champs or even the weakest team in the WCHA playing any state High School Champs.
