The kicker certainly wasn’t the only reason UND lost 27-0 yesterday. Perhaps one of the reasons, but only one of many, many, many sad unfortunate reasons.
-
Win games and that will come. Don’t put the cart before the horse. You’re right that coaching is the most important and first on the list (that is the horse).
-
Certainly not a good quality or perspective to have if you’re a head football coach. It really is just baffling (and honestly embarrassing) how different the team is between home and away.
-
I wish all of these could happen too, but we all know we lost several attendees by losing yesterday (major momentum killer coming off the NDSU win) and why would the coaches just figure out the road issues now? It’s been an issue for years. It will continue to be an issue under this leadership structure.
-
Either a fluke or a major missed opportunity, both inexcusable. This coaching staff / program is so frustrating.
-
Yeah well he and Bubba have had that opportunity for years, so whose fault is it? There are plenty of QBs on the roster. With that said, need to be cautious because everyone always loves the back up QB until they actually go out there and play.
-
I think you missed the point here. I’m not advocating for Dale to leave his position with the State Historical Society, but I am advocating for new leadership like what Dale brings to the table. Bubba just doesn’t have it. Nice guy, wish him the best, but my sources extend well beyond the numerous road debacles we witness on the field/television. Time to move on, several others agree, but I don’t know if the actual people making the decisions agree.

9-2 was attainable yesterday at this time. Now the goal is 8-3. The goal post keeps moving. It’s doable, but this degree of inconsistency is beyond challenging. Not even sure if inconsistency is the right word, as this program is just plain awful (consistently) on the road. Easy button is always get new leadership, but can’t do that right now. The 2023 season is not up yet. Changes still need to be made NOW. New personnel groupings are really where it is at at this point. So hard considering so many thought we turned the corner after the NDSU win, and got comfortable, but it was just a distraction from the truth. Sometimes, the truth hurts, but it will set you free. Celebrate the wins, learn from the losses. Problem is the program isn’t learning from these road losses. Program has pleateaud. No more progression. Can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Time for a new dog, but we’ll always appreciate the good ol’ boy.

Bubba got the W (NDSU) he and everyone wanted. Time to ride off into the sunset. UND football needs a leader.
-
Leadership matters. Lennon was/is a leader. This program needs one.
-
Implied. Bottomline this is another devastating loss right when the hype was legitimately building. Can never string ‘em together. Now the balloon has popped, again.

I think we all knew the game would be tough, but as I said before the game, didn’t matter if it was a 1 point game or a 40 point game, it just needed to be a win. Didn’t happen. Not even close. The concept of a “good loss” is really only acceptable if you’re conditioned to losing. The culture of UND football supports this right now, despite the win last weekend. It’s a body of work over the past 15 years.
-
Man, we’ve been slowly conditioned to not care about winning football at UND. It sucks so bad.
-
It’s perplexing, I know; but, unfortunately, predictable. That should tell you all you need to know.

20 year olds playing vs other 20 year olds minimization here isn’t really the answer gotta win on the road to “win out” and have “nothing to worry about”

Something tells me Dale Lennon didn’t talk to the team last night …
-
“UND running back Gaven Ziebarth, who has emerged as the Fighting Hawks' go-to ball-carrier, was hurt on a 3-yard run with 10:47 left in the second quarter. Ziebarth, who suffered a lower-body injury, didn't return to the game. Ziebarth, who ran for more than 150 yards against North Dakota State last Saturday, finished with four carries for 27 yards. "I haven't talked to sports medicine," Schweigert said. "He got twisted up there. We'll learn more tomorrow, and you'll have to deal with it." “ ??

Status quo, but this is a 10 year sample size

Change the psychologist? The voice in the room? New medications (interventions)? It’s a doozy

I have a theory to explain the past couple weeks, and I’m almost certain I’m correct, but I don’t feel like bullsh*ting back and forth on this forum. All I know is the result today was somewhat predictable, even though we all wished against it, and that is sad. Season moves on. Same ol’ same ol’ …Change is glacial around these parts. Good evening folks.
-
What a bunch of crap. Flush this sh*t and move on. Back at home where the team will win next weekend, but there are still road games left … need to desperately fix this road issue that has lingered for years… I can think of possible solutions, but I’m not the decision maker. All I know is something needs to change …
-
This just crushes the soul. Can’t entirely say this is the same ol’ same ol’ as UND has not had to play in D1 era after beating NDSU, but this is atrocious and reeks of previous blunders when the opportunity has presented itself to build of momentum and take the program to the next level. Something needs to change. All you experts on here or Chaves or someone can figure it out. This team/program is so different between home (Alerus Center) and away it is absolutely scary.

What DeBoer (and Eric Schmidt!) and Washington are doing is very impressive … certainly not apples to apples.
