11am. No wind and sunny and the student section is dead at tailgating.

    Whats with that?

Millennial laziness. They’re tailgating is done on Twitter, Snapchat or whatever social media they go to. If they even know we have a football team or game today.

So App St has cracked the Top25 of FBS just a few years after moving up.

They have wins over Gardner-Webb, Charlotte, Louisiana Lafayette, South Alabama and Arkansas State. If I didn’t know any better I’d think they were still playing FCS or atleast a FCS schedule. One quality loss to Penn State to open the year gets you ranked in the FBS? I think we found the Northern Iowa of the FBS.

    Dear Montana,

How does it feel to be banged up, on the road, against a team coming off its bye week?  Not so good now, does it!!  The shots we took in the endzone were purposeful.....wish we would have connected on one to make it 48.

At least 80% of our posters can quit man crushing on the griz now.  They were overrated, nothing to be scared of.

You called it two weeks ago. I admit I was hoping for a win two weeks ago before their Portland State loss. Were they that !@#!$ though? Did we just get over a hump where the team and coaching staff included learned how to finish off a win? I know they lost a few OL guys but I’m not sure this team is much different from the Idaho State team.

Down go the mighty griz......I can't recall, but someone was saying they were overrated!!  That guy must really know his football-

You were spot on. They had the win over NIU and I thought that meant something. Accept it was just one overrated team beating another apparently.

It wasn't just Roger Thomas, he had help with Kupchella and Phil Harmeson. UND is still paying for their arrogance and lack of testicles..

I believe this wholeheartedly, Roger doesn’t get a pass but those other are two take just as much of the blame. Kupchella and Roger are great guys that just made a mistake as things turned out. Nobody had a crystal ball I get it. I was in my early mid 20’s and was not about going D1 but I was angry and then some that we weren’t going to play NDSU.

So how does everyone feel about this team now? We are very close to being 4-1 rather than 3-2 but nonetheless here we sit at 3-2.

I am thinking we finish the season 7-4 with the schedule finishing out like:

    Montana L

    Sac St. W

    Weber St. L

    Idaho W

    Portland St. W

    NAU W

Looks about right to me. I think if we can get by Montana we’re a playoff team. If not this is what I’d expect. Montana is a good team but with us coming off a bye week I’m hoping we sneak one out.

Yes, watching 2 top FCS teams live that are not UND gives great perspective!!

From your earlier posts I assume it’s your opinion that our staff stacks up with NDSU’s or anyone else’s. Do you think that we’re just one big recruiting class away from closing the gap on the upper echelon of FCS teams? These fire Bubba or Rudy chants are getting old. I’m not sold on some of the staff, but I don’t think a change to our staff puts us over the top. You didn’t wear a Bison hockey T-shirt did you?

SU vrs Jack's.  3-4 plays are the difference.  1st quarter, Jacks throw a pick in the endzone from about the 10 yard line.  SU covers their quads left, SU has a back side D-back that settles in the middle and the QB threw it right to him.  (-7 or -3 points for Jacks)

Stick fumbles on his own 20.  Looked like the Jacks covered but the pile up was 5 minutes long and SU recovers (-7 or -3 again for Jacks)

Stick threw a pick on Jacks 20.  (-3 or -7 for SU)

Overall, both of their QBs are complete studs.  They run so well, it's hard to defend!!  Stick got lit up after a throw but the dude is tough as nails, didn't phase him.  Shepherd, SU WR looked like a pretty good player but the rest of their WRs are nothing special.  Jacks had a WR that caught EVERYTHING!!  They had a speed guy, too, dropped a deep pass in the game and didn't battle too well for an end zone pass.

Both teams are so solid.  Jacks last possession down 4 points sucked,  Sioux Sports would be calling for OC's his head after a run, run, swing pass 5 yards short of 1st down.  A missed assignment made it look like a poor call, and this happens, players make mistakes on other teams, too.

Both teams took their share of deep throws.  Both teams probably have better corners than us although Holm has taken a big step this year.

Also, both teams effectively screen pass by doing it outside the box.  The UND screen with Santiago in the box.....well, hasn't worked.

I showered twice last night.  Got to catch up with Luke S., coach for the Jacks, after the game!!

    You went to the game?

He will be approached at season's end with a choice-make staff changes or the whole staff will be changed.

I hope not, if he’s forced to make a decision. Bad things will only come of that. If the AD meets with a coach about what needs to be changed and he doesn’t like it. He’s the one that should make the change. If the coach doesn’t want to make a change the chances are his new choice won’t be better or won’t have a chemistry with the other coaches.

He called a masterful 1.5 quarters then went into a shell after the fumble and never regained any rhythm. 0 points in the second half is unacceptable and that goes on him.

He did look good early. It’s always after something bad happens he falls apart. Like a bad gambler that’s up big after two shoes into the night and then starts to lose. He spends the rest of the night trying to regain his earlier chip count or dominance. Ends up by the end of the night looking like a Mel Brooks character down on his luck living on the streets. It’s a sickness.

  11. I’m a pitcher of margaritas into it and I’ve decided I’m still a UND football fan (hockey second). I believe we can still win a national championship with Bubba as the head coach, but it won’t be this year. I believe we need to create consistency within the program and Bubba will give us that. He can coach here for ten more years but he’ll have some tough decisions after the season as to what his staff will look like next year.

We need to cause the same reaction in 4 weeks!

Don't miss the meltdown on Bizonvilla when the Bizon slip and slide. They'll be jumping of the bridges.

Unfortunately, I don’t see them slipping or sliding. They look very solid again.

We have 2 excellent return guys!  One is one of our All American WR!!

I could see them having a big day. Our special teams are struggling. I’m hopeful for our Defense. If our d backs play good today I think it will be a very close game.
