All I know is West Point... but I was told all military academies are the same...

before admission is offered all requirements must be met including medical (ask me about the dental x-rays that showed wisdom teeth... we had to go to a federally approved oral surgeon to have them removed and x-rays before and after were sent to West Point)....

more likely he realized the strict environment and academic standards and didn’t want to commit... think 4 years of basic training with a curriculum of civil engineering.... with all students in the class 4.0!

Football players are not given special privileges either! Too bad he is not coming to UND

    GO SIOUX

I thing you're right he's not coming here but I don't believe he's currently committed to anywhere.

Matt Campbell from Fort Scott, KS might be getting some interest as QB or TE

Jayden Johannsen is the QB from South Dakota who might be receiving some interest as well

I know Campbell has the prototypical physical features you look for but Johannsen makes some great throws on the run. He's a bit unorthodox and probably turns the ball over quite a bit but he looks like a play maker.

Don't most guys decommit when they think they've got a shot at going up a tier? (See: Case from FCS --> G5 FBS)

Sometimes for medical reasons or whatever it might be guys don't qualify for military academies. I've seen it a few times. Coach offers, kid accepts and the powers to be turn down admittance due to some standard the the administration is rigid on.

  4. Aarin Smith, I think was the guys name. He was our first 3 star recruit and if I remember right he never qualified. Never played here anyway. I remember I really like Ratelle's highlights. Mollberg was a big one for me. I thought he was going to be a game changer for us. Braden Hanson was another one. Grady of course created alot of excitement, might have been the only recruit in the D-1 era that I thought could be playing in the NFL (Golladay developed after he got to campus). I knew the guy later in life and he's around my age but it was a pretty big deal when we got Travis O'Neel. I could probably go on and on, but in the last 20 years or better those guys stick out for me.

So why waste a scholly on Grover at QB?     Find some other place to fit him in.   The same goes for any potential HS QB recruit.    Get someone who has great potential, no use getting someone just to say we got a QB in this class.   We don't need another Grover just marking time.   I'd rather see no QB in this class than another marginal one is what I'm getting at.

I don’t think Grover is on a scholarship. Right?

Who can blame the kid, Texas State did wonders the last time it landed a big time QB recruit.  Anybody else remember how good Paul Blake was?

Blake was ok, but my favorite Armadillo was the kicker.

Why would our chances be 50/50? When kids decommit that’s a coffin nail in that school. I honestly can’t think of one example to the contrary.

It happens for numerous reasons. Remember Idowu backed out for a week on signing day. Usually, when they back out they announce for another school right away. If it’s not a power 5 school I just think our odds are better. Maybe he’s made up his mind and just hasn’t made it public I don’t know? I find it encouraging that he hasn’t announced the other school.

I heard that.  But when you play a co-op of 3 private schools that tends to happen, get your butt kicked.

Ya I agree and I don’t mean to say he’s not good. He just didn’t look good that day. If he was our only scholarship QB coming in I’d be nervous after watching the game. At this point in the game I’m not sure what’s left out there.

!@#$, what about that kid ira was pumping?

Looked like crap in the state title game. Not sure he’s a FCS QB. I only saw him the once but didn’t look good.

I suppose if somebody posted something like “ good luck to the Bison tonight “ on this message board they would be banned for life from all things Sioux Sports and wouldn’t dare show up East of the Missouri River?

Good luck to NDSU’s two head coaches tonight.

He’s not ready for this level.

Some would argue that about Kostich currently and most would argue that when he came here. I don’t know the guy or anything about his coaching ability. What level of coach do you get paying $40,000?

I'm guessing that Linebacker/Video position is finally being made a full time position (it never has been) and now it is so it is a formality to make the job public, so my assumption would be Carl stays put.

Did their coaching budget expand or did they readjust existing salaries to fit their budget and add a paid position?

    per undfootball360 guys.

    December 13th

    • The window for hiring an OL and WR coach should be closing tomorrow.  We believe it needs to be advertised for 10 days.
    • We also noticed they have an opening listed for a linebacker/video coordinator position.

Carl Reinholz must not be coming back.

I would think the OL and WR should be filled early next week.  Just my guess.

Would they be moving Carl to WR coach? That was the position he played.

i'm sick of being a UND FB fan and Vikings fan on a day like today. Man, did I choose the wrong teams to cheer for....

You certainly sound like a Packer/Bison fan.

16,400, over 2,500 short of capacity for a quarterfinal game. Apparently winning solves attendance issues until you do it too much...

    Still it’s impressive.
