  1. I believe we need a major FBS position coach in his late 40’s early 50’s who’s ready to run his own program. Old enough to have seen programs built,  low enough on the totem pole to take a job making 200k. A guy like that could turn a program around with savvy recruiting, in game adjustments and just overall coaching moves that make the difference. Not that Bubba has been fired but if he does get fired that’s the type of guy I feel the administration should find.

If he can stay out of prison he wouldn't last 2 weeks at UND.

Brown has been charged with four felony counts of blackmail, four felony counts of identity theft and two misdemeanor counts of criminal false communication.

Oh , so maybe a NDSU candidate?

  3. Lucky or not, its a good win over a good team. Yet, how many more can be expected with !@#!$ special teams and horrendous second half play. These two issues have been a constant the last few years. I hope we can make some changes this week. I think the potential is there for this team to go further than any other UND team in the FCS.

He's all rah rah with no substance.

Lots of prancing on the sidelines no results to this point. He’s young so a corner could be turned but I’m not seeing it.

  5. Boltman has a lot of big plays for not getting the ball much. People scream about McKinney not getting the ball much but Boltman might be the most underused player. From what I’ve seen.

I agree on all this. I’ve been curious to on Zim for awhile. Everything I’ve seen from him has been positive.

I know this is blasphemy, but in hockey why don't ND and SD do a combined AA and A two-state system.

Most of SD would be A but a couple teams might be AA worthy

And I'm saying this for both boys and girls hockey.

Travel would be horrendous. Rapid City to GF would be 10 hour bus ride.  Granted I know that trip wouldn’t be made often but I think the thought of it alone would scare people aware from the idea.

I hear this all the time and I completely disagree that the quality of ND HS hockey has declined. 100%

You're simple minded if you see Central's domination and just chalk it up to everyone else sucking instead of actually paying attention to the HS hockey world. Central playing at such an elite level has masked the overall skill of ND high school hockey the past few seasons and especially this year which has caused people to just think the rest of ND is just down. Central would be a top tier 2A MN team this season no doubt and I think the next top 3 teams in ND would be top tier in MN 1A this season. Orono and EGF have both been ranked in the top 10 for 1A all season long, both cracking the top 5 at one point in the season. Central pummeled them by a combined score of 23-3.

Any other season outside of the last 3, I think Davies and Century would have been state champion teams but the unprecedented elite Central teams have, and will again this year, keep that from happening. Hopefully things shift next year.

ND has never produced as many D1 hockey players as consistently as they have in the last 5 years and it's increasing every single year judging by all the young commits and so many underclassman leading these varsity squads. Even outside of Grand Forks, kids from Bismarck(multiple), Williston, Minot (multiple), Devils Lake, Grafton(multiple) , Fargo (multiple) have all been playing d1 hockey at the same time recently. That has NEVER happened before. 10-15 years ago ND would produce 1 or maybe 2 d1 hockey players (sometimes 3-4 max) that would be playing at the same time and were rarely top 10 players on their teams. Yes there were some outlier years here and there, but generally, ND was barely producing d1 players, especially legitimate d1 players, and even went years having zero d1 players. Today ND is seeing 8-12 kids playing d1 hockey at the same time and quite a few of them have been and are key players. I only see this increasing judging by how many young ND kids who are already committed to d1 schools. Not to mention the AA bantam league picking up momentum, which I'd argue is going to be a collegiate player factory.

Of the entire 101 year existence of the NHL, ND (born in) has only produced 15 players to play in at least 1 career game. Just this season 2 of them have seen time and scored points while two others are right on the fringe by playing in preseason NHL games and being in the AHL . I see the total NHL number rising to 20 ND born players within the next 5 years.

I agree. Especially the western part of the state. 20 years ago the east more often than not swept the west in the first round and now there is at least one title contender out of the west. I don’t know if Central would win the MN AA title this year or not but they would be closest of any Central team to do so.

  9. My opinion won’t ever change on this. If you work for the University of North Dakota as a top administrator you should live within driving distance. Like 25 miles at most. If you’re going to work from home some days I’d say that’s more than fine. If your title is chief of staff and your staff is 1000’s of miles away....... Its a joke. If your an IT guy living 1000’s miles away supervising nobody it would make sense.

Only if they're female, gay, or a minority. The fact that they sucked is negated by the previous three.

I know people that played for her and some people that were involved with other sports at Duluth during her tenure. She was not a good co worker. She played by her own rules and probably deserved to be fired. With that said her superiors (AD/president) did an awful job of following protocol. They get paid good money to do their jobs and they were terrible at it. That cost the state and university big time. In my opinion she’s better at her job than the administration is at theirs.

With all that said what’s wrong with our system when a women’s hockey coach gets fired improper or not gets paid over 4 Million. A program none the less that is heavily subsidized. Our university systems spending are completely out of control.
