  1. They've earned it. We need to become a conference power to get on TV. It's no different with any other conference TV deal. Why show Vanderbilt vs Miss St. when you can show LSU vs Florida?

If you look at the attendance gap between the Montana schools and the rest of the BSC, it is really not that surprising (FCS ranking)

    2. Montana 25236

    9. Montana State 17627

    37. Sac St 9109

    40. UND 8692

    52 UCD 8215

    53 EWU 8089

    62 Weber 7416

    69 NAU 6787

    77 PSU 5957

  2. Didn't every Root Sports game last year have either Montana or Montana State? This year only 3 games do not include either team, one on 9/26, (although a Montana Game will be shown on 9/28) one on Nov 16th and one on Nov 23rd, however they are also covering 'Cat/Griz on November 23.- It appears the Root contract is essentially a Montana/Montana State contract

2013 ROOT SPORTS Big Sky Conference Television Schedule

  3. und's non-conference hockey game 60 miles north of the ndac's first home playoff game in about 20 years had more people in attendance, so my description is fairly accurate...

Not that it matters- but the NDSU/RMU football game had a higher attendance.

  4. Hard to believe there were 800/900 people who bought tickets and didn't go. Something seems odd. Maybe it really wasn't a sellout. It does sound good to say it was a sellout though.

I don't think giveaway tickets (ex band, player's families etc) count toward playoff attendance.

  5. Weber St. is not known as a strong offense, but put up 34 points and 473 yards today against UNC. That's hopefully a good sign for next Saturday. Could be another shootout.

They also scored 42... over/under 80 for this one?

  6. Davis should of beat SDSU in Brookings earlier this year. I watched that game. Davis is in the bottom of the Big Sky. Makes you wonder how good the MVFC is. It will be interesting watching the post season games this year.

EWU blocked a Davis FG that would have tied the game at the end of regulation in Cheyney yesterday. Davis lost to MSU by 7, Poly by 8, and NAU by 14 so it is not like they have gotten blown out by the top of the Big Sky.

  7. I don't see much out of line with that comment. North Dakota has already beaten the 2nd place teams in the Summit and Big Sky, might as well add a lower tier Summit school to the victim list..........................

    ;)

UND has also lost to the last place teams in both the Summit and Big Sky ;)

  8. "From the for-what-it’s-worth file, SDSU has played the 117th-most difficult schedule in Division I to this point, according to the Sagarin Ratings. NDSU is 210th in strength of schedule, last in the Valley. (The point: The Bison made good use of their larger budget in terms of crafting a schedule.)"-For what it's worth from Terry V in the Argus Leader.

Sagarin only includes DI games. So while Layafette and StFU hurt NDSU's strength of schedule, games against DII/DIII/NAIA do not hurt other schools.
