  1. Here is what the NCC of last year would look like this year after 4 weeks

    St. Cloud

    UNO

    UND

    USD

    SDSU

    NDSU

    MINN. ST.

    AUG

It obviously shows the strength of D1aa football.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

USD has wins over Truman (0-7), Peru St (0-6), Moorhead St (0-7), UW-LaCrosse (D3), Augie (3-4) and Mankato (3-4) and lost to what appears to be a down UNO. How they could be ahead of NDSU or SDSU is beyond me

  2. Scholarship reductions in DI-AA now too? I guess as state budgets get tighter the schools have to look to balance the budgets somehow, even in the DI-AA ranks.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

The only rumblings I have heard about I-AA scholarship reductions are from... UNH. So while they may or may not eventually happen asking Scarano if IAA scholies will be reduced is like asking the PSAC or RMAC commish if DII scholarships will be reduced.

  3. SCSU won 37-16- with games @USD, UNO, and @UMD- I can't see them losing more than one game and "should" win them all- I also can't see UND losing another game. Playoff time will be interesting.

  4. There is a post on the d2 board from Bulldung that says he's not coming, due to an unfortunate instance of personal injury.

Guess you'll be able to save a bit on the silly string.

Good luck today in the game.

laughing your ass off all the time can be dangerous :D - j/k BD - hope the "hammy" heals

  5. the 1 and 2 teams get byes, there is no "autobid" but if a conference (has to have 6 or more teams GNAC doesn't count as a conf) has a team ranked in the top 10 of the final regional poll- they get a bid to the playoffs- so say if GLIAC/NCC and GNAC teams were in the 1-9 spots in the final poll and an NSIC team was in 10th the top 5 teams in the poll and the NSIC team would make the playoffs

  6. Aid plan opposed by UNO's Danenhauer

proposal to reduce the maximum scholarship total for NCAA Division II football programs from 36 to 24 has the University of Nebraska at Omaha concerned about its program.

"We're against it," UNO Athletic Director Bob Danenhauer said. "From what we've been told, the president's council is against it, the management council is against it, and the student-athlete advisory committee is against it, so when you've got all those folks against it, it's going to be tough to get it passed."

The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference are co-sponsors of the proposal, which will be voted upon at the NCAA Convention in Dallas on Jan. 10.

UNO, as with most members of the North Central Conference, offers the full 36 scholarships currently allowed

  7. UND has been trying to schedule GVSU for a game. The problem is that GV's entire schedule is now made up of conference games with the shortened regular season. The only open date GV had is for this coming Saturday and obviously that won't work with UND playing a NCC game.

UND and GVSU both have 10 game schedules with Nov 13 off

  8. I believe DII Basketball follows a similar SSI as football. If that's the case, it's understandable to not have that game happen.

actually in Basketball it may be advantageous to schedule a DI opponent as the SSI is calculated differently and doesn't penalize teams for playing up

    1. Overall won-lost record (including Divisions I, II, III and NAIA);

    2. Overall strength-of-schedule index:

Win on the road versus a team at or above .750 .............17 points

Win versus Division I team................................................15 points

Win at home versus a team at or above .750...................14 points

Win on the road versus a team at or above .500 .............13 points

    etc

At least in men's BB I would probably rather play a "DI" NDSU this year than a .750 DII team

  9. I actually ordered Dataflix for the NDSU/UND basketball games last year- it wasn't like watching on TV but it only bufferred a few times and I would order it again if the oppurtunity arose. During halftime of the BB game however they piped in the UND/Wisconsin hockey game- and I thought the video quality of the BB game was much better than that of the hockey game- probably because of the setup they have in the Ralph. Now, if I can only get off the REA mailing list- they send me about 3 emails a week and there is no way to "unsubscribe" they have text which says click here to unsubscribe but it is not an operable link :p:love:

  10. UND has a good reason to move up. "Profit Sharing" from the Frozen Four they participate in. UND has missed out on some good money in the past.

I had heard they don't get any money from that in the past- any idea how much making the frozen four is worth?
