Disappointing year for CC...picked to win the WCHA and not making the F5 or the big dance. That DU Wisconsin game is really gonna be something...same with UMD vs UMN on Thursday night.

Congrats to Bemidji State on another NCAA autobid. They are certainly making an argument to be invited into the WCHA. Vermont and New Hampshire will be getting a lot of rest prior to the NCAAs. Maine withthe big win.

I'll be there section 119 row 21 in a vintage Sioux jersey supplied by one AZSioux! I know I owe MikeJM a beer from last year and I certainly hope to see SIouxmama and clan as well as Bob from Wisconsin again. We had fun last year, no? Sioux have a great team this year. Tech played us tough all year, same as Bucky and the Dawgs. Anything can happen when the Sioux play DU and Minny...this is gonna be fun. 3 teams fighting for their NCAA lives...2 team looking to improve their PWR and seeding for the NCAAs and adding another acholade to the long list. FIRED UP!

Wouldn't the tickets state which seed vs which seed if there was no Gopher rule? That would seem logical. They do not say that. If no Gopher rule, they could easily spell out who plays which game based on highest seed advancing. They do not.

Playing Friday Afternoon is the killer for the winner of the play in game, that is another big factor why no play-in winner has ever won the Broadmoor. Fri Afternoon is the 1 seed vs the play in game winner unless Minnesota is in.

You're right. If no Minnesota, the games on Fri Afternoon are 1 vs 4 and Fri night are 2 vs 3. If Minnesota, afternoon game is no MN, night game is MN.

I'm glad Gopherz understands the rules of the chant...I saw the wheels on your house chant and Gopher reject chant against DU recently, maybe last year?...DU is a $36k a year private school, I doubt many of their current or former student body is WT. Also, DU is every bit as successful a program as UMN, especially of late, so the reject chant doesn't really work there either. Reject Chant is awesome vs: UMD, Mankato, SCSU Wheels on your house chant can be used against probably all teams except DU, CC and WI If you can't get into college chant is great for SCSU and Mankato

It would be like me moving to Green Bay...I wouldn't become a Packer fan...my only concern is how I bring my children to hockey games here in the twin cities without turning them into Gopher Fans...It is perplexing

I watched most of the third period of the Gopher game last night. I posted about it on the thread where it is more relevant. I thought MN was hanging on in the third...Little Balls' goal was nice, but it was an island of Gopher offense that was surrounded by SCSU outplaying MN. RJ ANderson played the game of his life lsat night. I do not believe that was the real Gopher defensive corps. As for UMD. They are hungry, but CC is the better team. Olympic ice, altitude...if it goes 3 games fatigue will be a factor.

When you're up 2-0 in the playoffs, you keep doing what you're doing, knowing as the game wears on that they are going to have to press. I say you play your style of hockey with the lead, no matter what that style is and no matter who your opponent is.

I just hate the venue when playing the Gophs...stupid rouser...I hated the walk down West 7th after the Wheeler goal, and I hated the walk down West 7th after losing in 2004...My value add from a victory is proportionately smaller than my sadness from losing to the Gophers.

If we play and beat Denver we will flip them. It's 2-2, although we're separated in TUC by one tie.

To tell you the truth, I don't want to be anywhere near the Gophers at the X. They have our number there. I don't want to play them again in the post season, not when we've already beaten them twice this year and ended their seasons the last couple years...ANYTHING can happen when the Sioux and Gophers play. I was switching between Sioux and Gopher games last night. I disagree with the statement that SCSU sucks. It was 2-1 Gophers with SCSU dominating the play in the third period. Little Balls then scored a nice goal using the dman as a screen...Weslowski had no chance. Then Roe poked one in to make it 3-2. SCSU had the goalie pulled and had a couple decent looks before the empty netter iced it for the Gophers. It will be interesting to see how SCSU responds tonight...they will either come out flying or else throw in the towel. Interesting to hear Mansucko refer to the Gophers first line as the best in college hockey...homer...good talent, but not the best line in college hockey. It was also interesting to hear Wooger talk play calling with the empty net talking positioning and how to load the corners and deep, work the puck on the strong side and look for the open dman on the weak side. Mansucko asked which side was the "weak" side...the man doesn't know hockey. Wooger certainly does. Too bad they can't get another guy to do the play by play with Wooger...it might be tolerable then.

Tech clearly came to play. They looked good. We looked surprised. THe aggressive forecheck will put pressure on our dcorps. We wer having trouble with the outlet passes. Calm down, play our game. We might've just withstood the best they have. First couple shifts in the second will be telling...
