  1. I saw one good, high energy shift from Johnson where he carried the puck, dumped it deep- chased it down, then finished his check
  2. Yes, I noticed this too. He just needs to relax and take what's given. I think Canisius got in his head.
  3. hockeydb.com doesn't have him playing last year...
  4. I'd imagine he's in business somewhere...he wasn't going to play pro. He's got a great work ethic and family connections
  5. OMG...I dont envy the Omaha boys's next practice...Blaiser will bag skate 'em like Herbie in Miracle
  6. Nchc now 8-3-2 with one game to finish
  7. Who's going to step up to center that second line? Gardner is a key player- tough to have him out- hopefully it's a one night deal
  8. NCHC 5-3-1 in non-conference to start...not terrible Duluth 2-0-1 UND 1-0 CC 0-1 Denver 0-1 Western 2-0 Miami 0-1
  9. Doesn't need to be an acronym- how about the beauty line
  10. 6:20 to go still 3-2
  11. just one of the Parise years, one of the Toews years, and the Pony Express year should've resulted in a Natty...could've been 5, should've been 3, 2 would've been reasonable, 1 would be expected...we got none...until last year
  12. that 05-06 team also had 9th round pick and solid NHL grinder Porter on it and future Hobey Baker winner Ryan Duncan on it...team was stacked with talent
  13. hmmmm...an all-amercian, national champion goalie, who now holds the second longest shutout streak in ncaa history....Cam is going to have to really hit a rough patch to not have that net be his
  14. Grimaldi sent down. Kristo on waivers.
  15. NCHC.TV not working...lovely...
  16. make that a pair for jewels!
  17. I just saw that the Gopher games are going to be on FSN? Does that mean NOT on the Big 10? In other words, with the NCHC TV package and a $220/mo massive cable package...this would be the only series that I won't be able to watch from the West Coast...
  18. There was ZERO chemistry on this team. That is on the coach and the "experts" who put it together. The US team wasn't even entertaining. Eichel and Johnny Hockey were way better than any of their older countrymen. I don't care that much, but it is really pathetic that we couldn't put together a team to compete at this thing.
  19. Think Toewser will get any sh$t for missing that open net?? What an embarrassing performance by USA.
  20. Right...they have to rack up the goal diff and hope for Canada to blow out Europe
  21. USA must defeat Canada now if they have any hope of advancing
  22. NCHC is making money, NCHC is sending 50%+ of teams to the big dance, NCHC is recruiting top-end talent....if it aint broke, don't fix it unless it adds to all of the above.
  23. EWR to the train right into Penn Station which is right at MSG...piece of cake
  24. This is both UND and non-UND. Nice to get the props deserved for these two... https://www.nhl.com/video/nhl-tonight-college-hockey/t-278910374/c-44557703
  25. Sorta off topic, but in reading about the Vesey sweepstakes I came across a statistical translation factor from prior league to the NHL. Interesting. NCHC is highest of all college leagues at 0.41. Meaning you multiply the players points per game in the NCHC by 0.41 to predict their scoring at the NHL level. There is significant variance, and there is selection bias, as this is only players who go directly to the NHL from the other league. Clearly only excellent players go straight from college to the NHL. There are also other intangibles, and the age of the player's last year also plays a factor. Also, clearly collegiate players who are going to the NHL likely spent significant time on the PP at the college level, racking up points, and there chances at an NHL PP role are not guaranteed. Its a big regression analysis with lots of variables, but this is what they use: http://www.hockeyabstract.com/thoughts/updatedtranslationfactors Using this math, Brock Boeser for instance who is a teenager still, is most likely to hit the number. He would be predicted to be at 48 points in the NHL level.
