  1. Scott just mentioned an attempt at taking care of it a decade earlier than 2000. It was already a problem that hadn't been fixed. Al Carlson took over for Rick Berg. Anytime before Al Carlson took over and he would've been a non factor. UND spilled the milk. Quit trying to deflect the blame. Now the public will fix the problem.
  2. I blame UND for not taking care of it themselves and Al Carlson for dragging it through the mud even further.
  3. You are proving my point. UND and its supporters have had ample opportunities. Now somebody else will make the final decision for UND. The supporters have been too short sighted for too long and now it's a mess. UND and its supporters could have done this all on their own years ago but chose not to. So keep taking shots if it makes you feel better. This all could've been avoided.
  4. How is this not UND's mess? The University chose not to change its nickname and logo. There was ample opportunity to change it years before the settlement was even signed. UND could have used the NCAA as the excuse and EDUCATED the public on the consequences if the name was kept instead of suing the private club you are asking for membership into. But lets not look at the past and try to learn from former mistakes. It's everybody else's fault that UND is still in this mess.
  5. I do realize that some made the effort early on. The masses didn't come until the deadline started to approach. I am aware that some here tried to talk some sense into others but it was falling on deaf ears because many here were still in fight mode. The blame placing started in this thread when a few here already were blaming NDSU if the law was voted in. You expect us not to respond to that nonsense? We keep bringing up the past because too many here seem to forget it too quickly. That is obvious when you have people here who are trying to point fingers at everyone else but themselves.
  6. I said many of you were high fiving Al not the majority. I said the majority of you didn't see the light until it was too late. The politicians already had their plans in motion by the time the winds shifted in the other direction on the nickname.
  7. This is what you don't seem to understand. If UND would've taken care of its own affairs well before any of this started you wouldn't be throwing temper tantrums after it was taken out of UND's hands. The AG of ND who holds a degree from UND law signed an agreement to get tribal approval. Most individuals sat on their a**'s and assumed everything would be handled by someone else. The AG on Heitkamps show last week admitted he was willing to help the SBoHE with getting tribal approval but stated that he didn't recieve a return call from the board for his help on the issue. He didn't really make an effort himself to make sure an agreement was being reached. After the deadline passed instead of honoring the agreement that was signed by the AG you kept resisting. With numerous reasons from others on why not to keep fighting it still continued. The majority of UND supporters didn't see the light until it was too late. The Kupchella era could even be brought into this but what good would it do at this point. UND fans have split and are now on separate sides which won't improve even when this issue gets resolved. Politicians are trying to save their careers after making bad choices. Now we have come to fans on message boards suggesting we take down every other school in ND with them if the vote goes the wrong way. Instead of handling the issue themselves they lost the ability to decide for themselves. It didn't have to come to this and you are not willing to take responsibility for your own actions or inactions in some cases.
  8. UND and its supporters fought everyone and everything they could to keep the name well after the deadline passed. All the while everyone on the outside were trying to explain that the constant fight wouldn't end well. Many of you on this board were still fighting this issue during the last legislative session. You sent emails supporting the bill to your representatives and were also high fiving Al Carlson early on. Now instead of taking care of business before it reached the ridiculous stage of the legislature getting involved you have the people of ND deciding for UND. If you would've opened your eyes for a minute before it reached the Al Carlson level of stupidity none of this would be happening right now. I believe many of you on this board wanted to choke the life out of Mac Schneider when the SBoHE voted to drop the nickname at a board meeting and UND could've taken care of the issue before that vote even took place. This is absolutely nobody else's fault but UND's. To suggest punishing every other NCAA member in the State of ND is just another closed minded temper tantrum that got UND in this mess in the first place. Take responsibility for your own actions which includes the very start of this fight years ago.
  9. I would guess they are waiting until the Dome is selling out every game and there is a waiting list for season tickets.
  10. NDSU still managed to average around 16,000 that year even though it was an ugly year. I think he meant getting fans interested again and making some money. I read that only about 6,500 showed up for a game this year in GF that won't pay the bills. And since the house cleaning of some garbage at NDSU Best Buy has been doing very well in Fargo.
  11. It would piss off alot of season ticket holders because they almost demand six regular season home games a year and when NDSU is averaging $200,000 a game after expenses it makes some financial sense as well. With the every other year deal it would give them two consecutive seasons with six home games with one season of five in between. It also gives both NDSU and UND alittle bit of flexibility with scheduling. Not all care about the flexibility but many do.
  12. I did hear Faison say on the radio recently that an every other year agreement may be looked at in the future. It was just an off the cuff comment on KFGO a few months ago. It wouldn't surprise me now that UND has a BSC schedule set with OOC dates to work with that this game will be scheduled soon. It may be a few years yet down the road but I could see something being inked in the next couple of years. Prior to the BSC schedule Faison needed games. I don't doubt it was almost an impossible task at times. I don't quite see why at that point Faison didn't like the every other year idea but that now is water under the bridge. Since then I can see why there has been a delay. UND had to wait until the BSC schedules came out before they could start plugging in OOC games. Once the schedules came out dates were already filled at NDSU and the ones that were open didn't match. 2015 does appear to be the year without using the buy-out avenue.
  13. I am sure NDSU didn't schedule UND right away after both moved up was because of "pay-back". It no longer is because of that. If it was then GT wouldn't have sent an every other year contract to BF. The fact of the matter is Faison didn't like the idea and denied it. Taylor didn't like the idea of every year and wouldn't entertain it. It doesn't really matter what us fans think. You can flame away all you want about why it hasn't happened. Season ticket sales will top 10,000 this year at NDSU and they have a formula that has proven to work. I don't think anyone would start tweaking that formula simply because UND wants to play again. If I was sitting in GT's position I would do the same thing. He sent a contract to Faison that gave NDSU a little room to make it work to get the schools playing again while not totally disrupting the way they have been doing things. Faison didn't sign because it didn't work with what they were trying to do. It's simple as that. Once UND gets their feet wet in the BSC I would be willing to bet a contract that makes both sides happy will eventually surface. If this problem was simply being blocked by one side or the other because of sour grapes we would've heard about that already. The fact that we aren't hearing anything like that means to me that both sides understand the others problems and are working on figuring it out. Think about this for a minute, if Faison would've agreed to the every other year contract the first game would've been played already.
  14. He was the guest host for the Joel Heitkamp show today. I'm pretty certain the fool now thinks he is off the hook because of the petitions. He said it was "just great" that this was happening.
  15. Because the SBoHE has been walking on eggshells since Al Carlson became the lead bully in Bismarck.
  16. Very simple. These guys are usually touring the Dome as a group during home games. Some guys you recognize some you don't. Horne was a bigger name and I'm sure many people saw him on the sidelines during warm ups. Dom more than likely called a number of coaches to get some updates after they had visited. Last year Frank Veldman was on his group tour wearing a sweatshirt with his last name on the back and his HS on the front. By the end of the game everyone had googled the kid and was talking about him.
  17. Not that it matters but NDSU's women's AD Lynn Dorn is the responsible party for the Dehoff hire. Dorn isn't a very popular person in Fargo right now.
  18. Ira is a story teller. He knows a little and then pretends he knows a lot.
  19. I'm not arguing whether UND offered or not. NDSU already had DeSean Warren on the verbal list well before the Woods offer came. NDSU has a small class this year and with one scholarship already filled by a WR he must have turned enough heads to get NDSU to extend another full offer for the WR position. The article I was talking about had Woods quoted as saying he was leaning towards NDSU. It then stated that UND was going to visit later that week. At that point UND hadn't extended an offer but it was obivious they were interested enough to take the time to drive to his house and talk to him. Nobody knows what was said inside that house. That was my point.
  20. I wasn't the one who was stating as a fact as to what Woods said during Mussman's visit. Two FCS schools were listed as having interest which were UND and NDSU. Those are the FCS schools I am talking about.
  21. Woods was quoted as saying just that in the article. Marcus Horne's HC told the forum staff that he had. Only thing I remember about Mollberg was that if Iowa didn't offer then NDSU is on the list.
  22. The fact is UND didn't offer. The fact is you have no idea what was said in that living room. Are you a booster? If so how are so connected to these recruits?
  23. Sources I've talked to said that NDSU didn't offer until a few weeks ago because he was having such a good Sr. year it was looking as though he was going to be a gopher at least as a preferred walk-on. Things didn't shake out that way and the FCS schools started talking. NDSU extended a full offer about a week before UND went to visit. DeSean Warren from Kansas was already on the verbal list and this years class will be a smaller one for NDSU. You are correct when you say both sides are happy this year with thier recruits.
  24. Zach Vraa, Trevor Gebhart and Ryan Smith. Past two games have been Halloway, walk-on Nate Moody, walk-on Brady Hansen and Cooper Wahlo rotating.
  25. Were you in his house when Mussman visited with him? I even read in the Fargo Forum that he was already leaning towards NDSU before he stated that UND was coming to visit that same week. Do you think maybe it wasn't going to happen so the offer wasn't extended?
