  1. Where do these idiots come from?

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

17 im on the varisty football team but we suck ass

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Please start wearing a helmet when you play. :D

  2. First amendment or not?

    (1) Pete Rozelle tells Jim McMahon what he can and cannot write on his headband.

    (2) A public school tells students which t-shirts can and cannot be worn based on what they believe is offensive or not.

    (3)  Metrodome workers confiscate signs from fans that they believe are offensive and should not be seen in the dome.

    (4) MLB tells a pitcher that he cannot wear his lucky hat in the World Series, having to wear the official Series cap instead.

    You make the call...

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

But it becomes discriminatory when you allow one group of people (FSU, NC-Pembroke, Utah and CMU) to use names and images deemed

  3. OK, so please pick one:

    or

That's fine that you don't agree with me, but please take one stance or the other and don't just argue for the sake of arguing. You have been contradicting yourself all day and then just spinning what you say to try and get out of it.

I don't feel that UND should fight the decision in courts IF the tribes say that they don't want UND to use the name. I realize that the tribes don't "own" the name, but I would not give any money to UND ever if they were to fight the decision of the tribes in court. This is based on the tribes showing proof that the majority of members agree with their decision. Without that I would have to make up my own mind.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

BB and you are obviously not on the same page. BB wants UND to take on the NCAA through the appeals process or through court. This issue is with the NCAA not the tribes. Tribal approval is only a part of the apeal process, it should not be and is not the sole reason for an appeal. I understand you are saying that if the Sioux Nation were to poll its people and the majority disapproved of the name UND should be willing to change. I would assume you don't want UND to look like classless jerks thumbing their noses at the local tribes. I doubt this poll will ever happen so it seems it is a mute point.

The real issue that UND is willing to go court over is the NCAA calling them racists that are "abusive and Hostile" with out any clear definition of what is "abusive and Hostile" about the choice of nickname.

  4. i think i spelt replay but when is the ncaa going to answer about the name (i think i spelt answer wrong too) if someone has sayed something or there been posts about it sorry im to lazy to look

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Too lazy for an English class also.

  5. I think Hakstol is smart to bring in players like Spirko and Duncan, who will play for 4 years.  Those guys become fan favorites, and help the consistency of the team culture.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Wonder if Hakstol is giving this guy a look. Unlike his brother I think he would be a four year player. And his Ambition: Obtain an education through hockey :D

  6. Yeah. Usually players get bigger and heavier just by stepping on the UND campus. Duncan is going the wrong direction. :D

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I like his ambition listed on the Salmon Arm site. It sounds like he intends to stick around all four years. :) But I guess if he's shrinking he may not have a choice. ;):p

Ambition: To get an education and play hockey for as long as I can
  7. -But what are they going to do about the Sioux fans.  I am pretty sure that I am going to keep wearing my jersey to the Arena and post-season events.  Are the TV cameras going to stop panning the fan sections from UND as well, or will they try to make us cover up out jerseys?  I don't think so.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

They will fuzz out your shirt like they do with nudity on network TV. The student section will just be one big blur. :D

  8. Wishy-washy, he's protecting that big salary of his.

"The decision applies only to NCAA national championships."

According to this quote, the decision should not affect the Regional playoffs.

He sounds like he's trying to take the heat off the NCAA staff and put it all on the Executive committee

"While I agree with and support the Executive Committee's decision, neither I nor any member of the NCAA staff had a vote. The decision was made by a dozen chancellors and presidents from all three membership divisions appointed to represent their institutions, their conferences and the values of higher education. There were no dissenting votes, either."

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

How can there be any dissenting votes if nobody had a vote? :0

Since FSU has been so vocal and plans to take legal action, they will be pretty much guaranteed an exemption. The ruling is clearly undefined and would probably not hold up in court (a big blow to the NCAA), however if the NCAA gives FSU an exemption it would still be able to enforce its undefined policy on the other 17 schools. I just hope FSU tells the NCAA to take their exemption and shove it.

  9. You are so ignorant, maybe after Feb 1st Indians won't be allowed on campus, is that what you'd like next? If there are other Indians who don't have the same views as me, that's fine, but where are they?

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

This Sioux doesn't have the same view as you but you'll more than likely dismiss his views saying he isn't following his native ways or isn't Indian enough. :D

  10. UND fans desperate for information have a few things to follow in the next few weeks:

    ?? -- Dryland training starts.

    ?? -- Practice officially starts.

October 2 -- Exhibition with Manitoba.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

According to the Engelstad Arena schedule the olympic arena is available to the mens team every day for at least a couple of hours. The main arena won't have ice in until around September 7 and the mens team starts using it on the 10th. Practice usually starts about a week before the first series of the season. My guess would be first offical practice on Oct 3. Captians practices for a few weeks before that.

  11. Bored and tooling around.  I wanted to tool around and give a few prospects from the AJHL, but their website kinda sucks.  But here is the BCHL candidate I found.  My criteria was that he be the high in scoring, 19 years old or younger, and consistant from year to year (if possible).  If I figure out where I can find others, I'll post them.

    Alan Mazur - Coquitlam

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I wouldn't care too much about how high scoring the D-man is but rather what his +/- rating is. There are already offensive type d-men coming in. If Greene or Smaby turn pro the Sioux will need to fill the void of a big tough stay at home defenseman.

  12. I know for a fact that Chad would give his left *** to play for the Sioux. Besides, it couldn't hurt to have a 6'-3" guy in practice giving our forwards a different look in the net.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I don't know about Chad, but Aaron Vickar did.

  13. Foyt plays more physical than Marvin.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Marvin will dress instead of Radke. I don't think Radke got a shift in the Minny game.

  14. If Steve Piotrowski refs the game rather than Matt Shegos, who I thought was awful in the DU-CC game, I think it helps the Sioux.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Since it's two WCHA teams playing the NCAA has decided to let Don Adam ref the game tonight. They're confident he will do a good job.:D
