  1. So I'm over here in The UAE (United Arab Emirates) and the one thing I had to pack was my green Parise Sioux jersey. It's been averaging over 110F over here, but it still wore it in The Dubai Mall, and even went skating in it. Hope everyone enjoys their summer in the states, I'll hopefully be back by hockey season. Fighting Sioux Forever!

    Nice skates :D

Were those previously rollerblades in a previous life? ;)

  2. Re: Amsoil. How bad are the obstructed seats behind the bench? There's a bunch open for Feb 21-22 but it's a little scary that the rest of the joint is sold out other then some scattered singles. Anyone have an idea?

I'm guessing those are the seats right behind the bench? If so you'll be looking through and around players, coaches and staff on the bench.
  3. Maybe Bidco meant to say only a couple thousand lower bowl tickets left. If these tickets are not part of the rodent season ticket package, which is easy to believe they are not, that means at best the rodents will sell maybe 5K.

I was just repeating the word I had heard. We shall see how it goes. The Final Five took years for it to gain the steam that it had.
  4. I think technically Amsoil should be considered out rink since we christened it with blood

Left the bulldog fans thinking "IAmSoiled"

Yeah that sucked...but I bet you trade that win for a Frozen Four win or two later that season...

I'm biased but I totally agree that AMsoil is better :D

  5. We've got a HUGE weekend at the Ralph coming up and we're talking about Tim Hortons and Dunkin Donuts?

    Gosh I love siouxsports.com......

I'm going to copy Oxbow's football approach. Early week prediction.

    Split: UND 3 UMD 1...........UMD 4 UND 2

Well when GF gets Tim Hortons and its the closest one to MSP...its a big deal! It will be a place to go for dessert after some Red Pepper.

I think that is a very likely prediction. While UND usually gives UMD fits...this UND team is struggling and hopefully UMD can take advantage of that.

  6. tUMD visits UND this upcoming weekend and UND is coming being swept at home by SCSU (such a rare occurrence!). Looks like a typical UND team...starts off .500 or above and then finds its stride in the second half.

UMD had the previous weekend off and split at tOSU the weekend before. UMD usually plays badly against UND in Grand Forks but I am hoping they come out with a split.

I was going to make the trip but when I heard Tim Horton's wouldn't be completed until Decemberish, I decided I'd wait (it's not a Tim Hortons without a maple glazed doughnut ;)). And yes I know about the one at the Ralph but they do not have mapled glazed dougnuts!

    Go Dogs!

  7. 17,000 fans, wearing mostly maroon and gold or green and white, cheering rabidly for teams not their own. The greatest college hockey conference ever known now turns the page to an uncertain future. The WCHA as we know it is no more. To fans of Minnesota State, Bemidji State, Alaska-Anchorage, and Michigan Tech, thank you for the memories. MSU...I always enjoyed the 70 mile road trip and 'ole ole ole'...AA...I remember the standing ovation that greeted you at the 2004 Final Five, your first FF ever, and your opening game upset of CC...Michigan Tech...another great road trip to copper country...and Bemidji State...your incredible run to the Frozen Four a few years ago and the excitement you brought to the WCHA after that. It's an absolute travesty that everyone else is leaving you behind.

To the fans in section 102, rows 8, 10, 11, and 12, who sat around us in row 9 for the past 12 years, all the best. I had a lady Gopher fan hug me tonight and tell me that she will miss seeing my group every March at the Final Five. I swear...she had tears in her eyes. I made friends with fans from SCSU, UMD, CC, and even Minnesota during my time here. Hell, I even watched a four year old Gopher fan turn into a twelve year old Sioux fan. So happy to make your 2011 Final Five by getting some Sioux players to sign your jersey. I'm glad you joined our team. Your parents are still welcome to join you.

To LSSU, Northern Michigan, Ferris State, Bowling Green, Alaska, and Alabama-Huntsville...you have big shoes to fill. May your programs be successful and may your affiliation with the WCHA be everything you hope for. I will cheer for you every time you play a Big 10 team.

2001-2013. The X. The greatest tournament in the greatest hockey city around. The king has fallen...long live the king.

    Well done.
  8. The custodian of the MacNaughton Cup is Michigan Tech. The cup will stay with the WCHA while the Broadmoor Trophy will come with Colorado College to the NCHC.

Gonna miss that trophy. It has some fantastic history attached to it. Plus it looks awesome.

Kinda stinks that there won't be every road trip every year...but you'll have them more frequently than the current WCHA and 10 team WCHA.
