Thanks for the info, I have been wondering for some time if I was the only one who thought WDAZ's sports footage was terrible, glad to know I am not. Thanks again

What I can't get over is how the backers of the proposal have been on tv and radio, and have been quoted in the paper saying that parking isn't that big of a problem in downtown Fargo and that is a big misconception they are trying to get over. What world are these people living in anyways?

Please don't compare Marto to Lee Marvin.

I think WDAZ's sports is about 2 minutes long each night. Another thing to point out, has anyone else noticed how low of quality the game footage is that is shot by WDAZ cameras. I'm talking about highlights from local basketball/hockey/football games. You turn it to KVLY and even Fox's sports, and their footage is a lot brighter, more colorful, and just a lot more eye friendly. Are they using cameras from the 1950's?

The beauty of siouxsports is it is a place for people to come and openly express their opinions. I'm definitely not qualified to become the AD, but does that mean I can't express my opinion on subjects regarding the basketball or hockey programs? If that is the case, than I guess only a couple people will be allowed to post on this board.

I'll third that

I am excited to see Marto play. After watching him play a bunch of games over his career, he has the ability to rush end to end with the puck and make people look foolish along the way. Obviously he played against weaker opponents, but that does not mean he won't be able to make it with the sioux. He obviously can play the game if North Dakota, Minnesota Duluth and U of Minnesota were all interested in him.

Congrats to the Sioux and to Marto. This kid is going to be fun to watch in a couple of years.
-
Be careful, I wouldn't want to get caught doing that.
-
Ok, I see your point now. It is nice to be able to have these kind of arguments, shows we have had some good players wear the Sioux jersey the last couple of years.
-
I haven't seen or heard anything about this yet.

Congrats to Rob Hunt, it is always great for a North Dakota kid to get drafted and play in the NFL. Good luck to him and Bowenkamp

Very mature statement I deleted it, because when I realize I had written something that was out of haste, I thought it would be better to just delete it. Is that a good enough reason?

I agree with you, but that doesn't mean Zach is going to be a "better" player than Zajac in the pros. It was the way "siouxtatoo42" made it seem that Zach was and is head and shoulders a better player than Travis. It is too tough to compare them right now.

you can post that junk on your website, could care less here at siouxsports

Aye lol I agree Sicatoka, that would be nice to alieviate some of the headaches of leaving the Alerus Center. There is no reason why people should have to wait 45 minutes to leave a parking lot when there is only 10,000 people attending the event.

Paying a couple bucks to park doesn't bother me, because I can see that is definitely going to happen sometime soon. What bothers me is they don't have enough spaces right now when they have big events and that will only get worse, if and when they build the Canad Inn. Where are people going to park once that building project starts? Why don't they pave more of the open areas surrounding the arena? I know the answer to that is cost, but parking in a "field" when its raining isn't exactly going to attract people to come out to the Alerus to attend an event. I heard Mac Talk yesterday and they talked specifically about this issue. The points were raised that they didn't charge a parking fee to begin with, because they included that fee in the facility charge that gets tacked on to each ticket. They figured they could raise more money that way. So what happens now? They charge for parking per vehicle and per ticket, so you get hit twice with the fee?

That is exactly what we are talking about here, whether or not a shield or a mask should be considered "standard" equipment in the NHL/AHL and therefore the players should be forced to wear one or the other. "Sorry to say", it is not considered standard equipment at this time.
-
I guess my take on the whole thing is this: I believe it should always be the player's choice in professional hockey if they want to wear a mask, shield, half shield, etc. I'm glad that college along with other leagues have made full face masks/shields mandatory. If the player chooses to play without the shield, than they take the risk of being injured. It was interesting to hear Nick's Dad on the radio this morning with Mike McNamara. Get well soon Nick.

I agree, that thing was beautiful.

The atmosphere during Canada's game was great and a lot of fun, but you must not have been sitting in the section I was. I'm not saying the whole arena were swearing during their cheers, but there were a few cheers from out section with about 50-100 people were they were swearing.

For some reason, I knew Melrose would say that yesterday and last night. congrats to Sertich on a great year.
