  1. What are the numbers of kids that go out for football at RR and Central? I can see how these reasons would all be valid. Would you have other reasons outside of these 5?
  2. I don't know if a UND satelite campus would be a good idea downtown. I agree with ESPN, bars restaurants, businesses would be a better fit, IMO.
  3. I recently heard University of Missouri's AD on ESPN Radio discuss the possibility of a D-1 super conference that would include all of the major football programs. Miami, Oklahoma, Florida, Texas, USC, Nebraska, Michigan, Ohio State, etc. all would be included from the sounds of it. They would form this conference and move out of the NCAA. I am assuming there would be many sub conferences similar to the Big 10, Big 12, etc. Would this work? If so, how would it work? I think this would be a terrific idea but there would be a lot of logistics to work out. They would have to come up with a governing body, which teams in which conferences, etc. Would TV rights be effected with ABC, Fox Sports Net, ESPN, etc. I am guessing that the entire athletic program would have to pull out of the NCAA, not just football. How would this effect things. This would also weed out the teams in D-1 that never compete for a national title like the MAC Conference. In the end, I think there are too many logistics to overcome to make this happen. Look how much it took for Miami, Boston College, and Va Tech to go to the ACC. That was not a smooth transition because of legal action taken by the Big East. Take that times 10 and I believe that is what you would have with this. What do you think?
  4. How could I suggest anything before or after Sioux Football that doesn't include a full ham with Taco and 2 soft shells. Shame on me!!
  5. How long has Iowa and Wisconsin not been scheduling teams with Native American Nicknames? Reading the article on uscho.com was the first I have heard of that.
  6. Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't the Maine series last year supposed to be followed by a trip to Grand Forks this year? What happened?
  7. I think you mean disagree. I do not agree with that statement at all.
  8. I am a tailgater so I arrive hours before kickoff but if that does not float your boat, I would at least show up an hour early to allow time for parking, fighting the crowd, finding seat, etc. If there is one thing you see on campus it is Ralph Engelstad Arena. They do tours M-F at 3 pm and sometimes on Saturdays, if the group is large enough. I would suggest getting as close to the 50 yard line as possible. I wouldn't go any less than the 20 yard line. An underrated seat is standing on the catwalk behind each endzone. Very interesting sight line to the game, especially when the ball is in your end. After the game, DAGWOODS! Just north of DeMers on 42nd St (same street Alerus is on) Enjoy!
  9. ESPN, you can't say that all the head coaches since Cichy have been awesome coaches that have fallen victim to the RRHS curse. Can you?
  10. P.S. And I am not, and never will be, one of those parents that call the coach every Monday morning and tell them what I think should be done. Truth be told, I hate when people do that. The coach is there for a reason. That does not mean I can not be critical of a coach on a message board, does it?
  11. Private schools may recruit but the family is still going to be well off if they can afford the private school tuition, scholarship or not. We can simply agree to disagree but you can see that no one has come out to support your claim. I think you are way off in your assumption that money has something to do with the situation of the RRHS football program.
  12. I could careless about what schools you have coached at. Have you ever coached or attended RRHS? If the answer is no, then you have no idea. If your theory is correct, how do you explain Fargo South. That school is wealthy, and they have a good hockey team. How do you explain them having a good football team, as well? You have no grounds to your argument, that is why you see no one in this thread supporting your claim, just arguing against it.
  13. Yes, money does have some what of an effect on how kids behave. But you can not tell me that there is that much difference between RRHS and Central where you can have Central in the Title game and RR barely winning a game. Bottom line, the fact that RR kids may have some wealth in their family IS NOT the reason that they are so bad. It is coaching. You can not argue that, can you?
  14. What were you doing there at that time? I didn't call a cab until later.
  15. Looks like you have an eye for talent! Rapier? Is that a word?
  16. If you like farming or being a door mat for D-I athletics go to NDSU. Anything else, UND.
  17. I am not saying putting money into it now. You are right.....huge risk now. I am saying if and when they put in these condos, there will be tons more people downtown just starving for something to do. That is when something would flourish downtown. I would say the town is growing fast but in the south and west parts of town. If the condos come, so will the business. Wishlist Jonesy's dugout!!!
  18. I knew someone was going to say that! I suppose the next thing you will say is you like Hooters because they have good wings?
