  1. They both got suspended for a game. There are no winners, only losers. The Sioux really could have used McMahon against BC last Friday night. I have a very hard time understanding people who cheer when a fight breaks out. I simply shake my head in disgust. An occassional bench-clearing brawl can be entertaining, but when two players put up their dukes and slug it out like '30s style boxing... that's just stupid macho posturing. I appluad the NCAA for not tolerating that crap. The NHL needs to enforce similar rules against this barbaric, neanderthalish "tradition".

Whaaaaa. :silly: It is part of hockey...deal with it.

McMahon's fight (though it didn't show it) I'm sure fired up his teammates, and the very dead crowd. Too bad it didn't happen in the begining of the 3rd instead of the end of the 2nd.

  2. I didn't know where else to post this, and I think we need this thread.

It is being reported that Fuher will be playing forward this weekend so Bina and Radke can both play. Hakstol apparently mentioned that on the radio yesterday.

  3. Not regarding a former Sioux player, but an interesting article about Vanek:

I can already hear the Gopher fans - "he won a championship," but I doubt many people are surprised to hear about him likely taking shifts off.

The whole team is struggling now, just wait until the end of the season. ;):0

(Sorry, not trying to ruin this thread, I just had to say it.)

  4. This is the scoop on the grafton walk-on's. Jesse suffered a server concussion when he was playing for Lincoln and still has some problems so he didn't even try to walk-on I don't think because he still gets really bad headaches and what ever else you get from a servers concussion.  Drew was on the way to making the team I believe before he got a cheap shot put on him and screwed up his shoulder really bad. Tore ligements and crap. That is what I heard I heard from his great grandma. If the cheap shot is true perhaps it was moreland fearing he was going to loss his spot on walking on. Just a thought to all you Central or Red River people.

Did he steal his lunch money too? :silly::lol:

  5. So I was looking at my program for Friday night's game and the team photo has Matt Moreland and an unidentified player in the front row (who I am assuming was a walk on, too).  Any one out there know who he is?

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

The unnamed player is James Massen.

  6. I emailed CableOne and got this response:

    Dusty,

Thank you for the email inquiring about our services. I would like to let you know that the Fighting Sioux

games will be on channel 51 this year. I know in previous years it was on a different channel but now it

is with channel 51. If you have any further questions feel free to give our office a call at 701-280-0033.

    Thanks,

    Will

  7. Karl Goehring from Hockey's Future

    Goaltending

Goaltending remains the most critical position for Syracuse in the new campaign. Returning for the third straight season are the tandem of 21-year-old Pascal Leclaire and 26-year-old Karl Goehring. Both players were moderately successful last season and each will need to continue to improve for the Crunch to find success.

This season is easily the most important of Pascal Leclaire

  8. I can only imagine one small benefit to being ranked highly at this point in time.  Usually I hate being ranked #1.

Hakstol's first year as the Head Coach.  He's already landed some good recruits.  First series and he sweeps a tough team in a tough barn.

    Team is ranked #1.

It likely isn't a major deal, but to any new recruit it's gotta look a lot better than if we had been swept and were ranked 8th or 9th.

The early signing period is coming in a month or so?

    Good point Dagies.

    It definatly can't hut.

  10. OK, I've read this forum for years and now had to sign up because no one has asked the question, What bars in Fargo will be carrying the game tonight?  I've tried a few but none of them have CSTV.  Can anyone help out?  Thanks.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I know last year Buffalo Wild Wings had CSTV. I would assume they would have it again this year.
