People that act like this have Borderline personalities--inappropriate attention-seeking behaviors, inability to maintain steady relationships. These behaviors usually manifest in early adolesence & are a result of growing up in a chaotic home with erratic, unstable parents.

Surprising how the tone of this thread changed so quickly--from having faith to looking for a body. Man, my heart goes out to Dru's spirit & her family. I try to stay centered at all times but it's really difficult in these situations.

I originally thought alternates, both forwards & defensemen, would attend regardless & be put in the line-up in case any of the original 12 Fs or 8 D got injured while at the tournament.

Jared Fogle (sp) might know.

Oh ok, I suppose if it's got your name on it it's a classic. Henceforth, I will personally refer to all great articles, posts, whatever as Milleresque as in "That writing style was fluid, coherent & Milleresque." Must have been quite an honor to interview Mr. Morelli--the man who started this fine tradition.
-
Didn't see Smaby or Stafford on that list...maybe they do have a chance at being alternates, who knows.

Speaking of Taffe (Coyotes), I saw him score a goal in a 3-3 road tie against the Blackhawks recently; was also on the pp unit.
-
I want to say "Great job!" but I don't want to be too premature & assume this is another fine article before I read it. Is there any way we can read this article online? And anyone know who that guy in the background is?

Thx for the news, Flatspin7, appreciate it...

It's difficult to keep the faith given the circumstances. If he's actually innocent he most likely would have been cleared by now (it doesn't sound like he has a verifiable alibi + the forensic evidence) & police would be pursuing another suspect; it sounds like they have their man as he's being charged with kidnapping...if he abducted her & was keeping her locked up at a remote location, he definitely would have said something so he didn't have a murder on his hands...which leads me to a rather grim conclusion. Don't understand how GF authorities can call Rodriguez cooperative when he hasn't said jack$hit about her location (again, assuming he did it but police seem convinced he's the one). Call a spade a spade & quit spinning. I still hold out, though...

Fight the power, brother Goon. We may be ridiculed now but glory will be ours!

So are you joining our mini-bandwagon or not? Last chance
-
Well, it's you, me & only a couple others up against the entire Sioux Nation in our belief that the Gophers absolutely won't win an NC this year. At least we can hang our hats on the idea that we're independent thinkers
-
Not pretty, not pretty at all. Maybe, just maybe, Sioux fans in attendance will let them know what they think of full-figured gals. Probably not, though, as their attention will most likely be focused squarely on the game.

Sports is escapism for many of us & it's one of the few times grown men can act like fools, expose our primitive sides & not get thrown in jail because of it. Then, when the game is over, we can return to being civil again--unless you live in Minnesota where it continues in the form of riots.

Thx for making this my last visual before I go to sleep.

That was cold--but funny. The legend expands into northern Minnesota. I never thought this innocent little joke would have so much upside.

You're right, I changed my mind the weekend after their tourney in Omaha. I thought at the beginning they would be an unstoppable machine but I wasn't impressed after their lackluster first 2 weekends. I think doubt started to set in at that point but many fans of both schools were unwilling to accept that maybe they weren't as good as believed. I also thought during the 1st half of last year that the Sioux would dominate but I was wrong in that respect. Good observation, I admire your photographic memory.

No offense, I respect your opinion I forgot to mention Vanek's attitude. Speculation on my part, but it looks like the kid is anxious to go to the pros & his half-assed, passionless play reflect that. It only takes 1 sourpuss in the lockerroom to affect other players' performances. I stand by PMart being a big loss in that the left-behinds (remaining D) aren't as good as the ones in '02. It would be extremely unlikely that a team could win 3 consecutive NCs with average-at-best goaltending. Complacency? I think this is a small factor in their situation. IMO, I think it would be tough to get guys psyched 3 years in a row. If you take away The Gophers' last 2 championships & give them to other teams, they might be dominating, very hungry & more focused now but that's just how I see it. Also, they needed OT 2 years ago & a diving PMart in the semis last year against Michigan--I can't imagine such luck 3 years in a row... I'll buy you a 6-pack beer of your choice if I'm wrong
-
Is that all? That was pretty 'PG' compared to a heated Sioux hockey game. I applaud your good sportsmanship.

I think most people look at a team's roster & recent history & automatically assume they're great; forgetting to take into account a team's focus, chemistry, motivation & the fact that college players are notorious for being inconsistent. I also think many Sioux fans don't want to go on record & publicly state that the Gophers aren't very good because they don't want to eat crow if they turn out to be wrong. I thought at the beginning of the year that a combination of suspect goaltending, loss of PMart & complacency after winning 2 in a row would be too great to overcome. They may get hot in the WCHA but they won't win another championship this year. Count on it...

Sorry about the oversight, Fed, I should have acknowledged your almighty wisdom earlier

A man of reason who sees the big picture
-
Nice to see that you're not fooling yourself re: this year's Gophers. Some people confuse a talented group of players with automatically being a good team & this isn't the case. Having talent doesn't necessarily make a team good, winning does.

You're more good-natured, though, & just posting to make others laugh--at least that's what I thought anyway Others are downright vicious & lack morals.
