Bemidji made the NCAAs. That helps UND.

KDAL webcasts it (audio). You can find the link to it here.

2nd? There's way too much time left.

It is nice to see.

Termite games? Suddenly little girls playing hockey are wood-born pests?

Oh get off it, Goon. We all know the only reason why Stafford returned to school this year was for the publicity and the chicks. Sheesh! I thought you were better connected than this! CoughDScough... DS must stand for DumbSh!t

He looked ok but a little lost last night. At times I noticed that the Mav player would lose or give up the puck but Miller wouldn't go after it and instead ended up going after the Mankato player. I mean, it wasn't even close. I still think he's pretty easy to take off of the puck. That being said, I don't think he was a liability, which is more important.

You may be right. It wouldn't be the first time I've gotten bad information.
-
I haven't seen him play, but that's what I hear.

I picked Sioux by 2. One of those two goals will be an empty netter. Lots of anxiety for us Sioux fans.

Shameless. Simply Shameless... But good as usual.

I'm going to take the opposite approach. First, PCM says it's a deep thigh bruise and, though it may not be true, if anyone has a source, its PCM. Second, Fabian chatted with TH last night and stated something interesting. Fabian was quite forthright in stating he was out of the year and, while describing it he said that, if there was a chance of him returning, he would have stated nothing about the injury and how long he has been out. We've heard NOTHING about Stafford's injury. So, by that logic, Stafford's injury may not be serious at all. Nevertheless, we should plan not to have him tommorrow.

I'd rather have Campion than Anderson

He's still officiating as far as I know, but he's not taken too many jobs. Greggie Pookins has kept him away from DU and UND games. Maybe Don did the right thing and quit. I do know that Greg didn't fire him. He's not that kind of boss.

Heisenberg's Class of 2006 Hockey Recruits page. Volpei committed to SCSU on Friday. Motzko is building a small but extremely fast team.

Dear Mother of Parise, GO DOGS!!!!!!!!!

I agree with Snake regarding the freshman thing. As it sits right now there are four freshmen still on the Sioux: Brad Miller, Ryan Martens, Todd Alexander, and Aaron Walski. If you aren't those three players, then the "freshmen excuse" doesn't work.

Random thoughts including some predictable stuff: 1. Why do the TV announcers (Bredahl) give guests gift certificates to the Italian Moon? Is it really that hard to get an intermission guest? It just seems lame. 2. We HAVE HAVE HAVE to stop setting up our powerplays with 3 forwards behind the red line. How do you score a goal from behind the red line? It just doesn't happen. 3. Ate at Peppers tonight and sat in front of a guy who basically all but said that Smaby is the only defenseman we have that's any good. Brian Lee and Zach Jones especially sucks, I guess. I told him we were young and we'll get better. I didn't think telling him that Lee is 2nd in the WCHA among freshmen defensemen in points. :sigh: 4. We HAVE HAVE HAVE HAVE (x10) to be more disciplined. Yeah, say what you want about Shepherd suddenly deciding to start calling penalties in the second, but they were penalties. I wish he called them both ways, but I can't say they were truly bad calls. Anyone know what Finley got called for? The cameras did not catch it. Oh, and someday Jordan Parise's chippiness is going to get him into trouble. I saw 3 noncalls that could have put us down a man that was related to Jordan's "stick work." 5. Say what you will about Prpich and Co., but I think Mankato has the better of the agitating crew. They really got under our skin in both games. Especially David "Blahblahblah" Backes. That guy blabs to the ref more than ANY other Captain I've seen in quite some time. Nevertheless, I still think he's a rather good hockey player. Rankin on the other hand.... 6. Really liked how every line had scoring chances tonight. I don't understand how Oshie's first goal went in. I saw the replays of it but... did it go off of Cumming's skate? The head of that sliding Mav?

Right now, it's so back and forth that we can't put any faith in anything. We just have to win and hope everything sorts itself out. MAYBE this loss will serve a purpose tonight and tommorrow. Maybe not. All we can hope is that we play hard and win.
-
I agree. Parise only really let in one weak goal and, if the officials had been on their game, it would have been Mankato's only goal. Goal 2 was icing. Goal 3 never would have happened as the Sioux would have won at least 2-1 (assuming we don't get an empty netter). Folks, as to the state of officiating, I'll be quite honest, there were a TON of missed calls and many of them would have gone against us. Shepherd is a dork, but he's somewhat predictable. This is the playoffs and traditionally officials have let a lot of things slide during these games. I know Mankato comes across as a dirty team, but they are no dirty than any other team in the league. And Jutting knows what he's doing. He watched how Gwoz's tantrum affected Anderson. The fact that Hak doesn't stoop to that level gives him class but it does put us at somewhat of a disadvantage because, unfortunately, the officials are incompetants.

Oh dear Parise. As we sit right now, with the new brackets, the Grand Forks Regional suddenly becomes the hardest regional, IMO. Minnesota vs. Niagara is the snoozefest opener (Minnesota would win like.. 6-1 with the 1 goal coming late in the third for Niagara as a sort of pity goal). UND would face Michigan. Even with their inconsistencies and goaltender problem I don't want any part of Michigan. Worcester looks to be the "easiest" bracket with BU having the real possibility of the easy road to Milwaukee. Overall, they all look pretty challenging, but aye carumba. UNH won and DU lost which were good things for the Sioux, IIRC. Too bad we couldn't win or is it?
-
Good win by the Mavs. Crappy loss by the Sioux. I don't know what else to say other than, we better not go to OT tommorrow. If we do, we lose. cavedurtis -- Flukey = weak. That's two weak goals given up by Jordy tonight.
-
Wow a shot from the blue line. HOLY CRAP. They are looking at something but it's not going to matter. Well, tommorrow we're going to have to play like.. well.. like we're actually wanting to make the playoffs.
-
Mavs win. Good grief.

ALL and I mean ALL Mavs
