  1. This isn't really in line with the thread but does anyone know the FSSN channel through Cable one in Fargo? I haven't watched a game here in years. Thanks.
  2. Duluth reporter giving his opinion on Forbort: http://www.howiehanson.com/?p=9569
  3. A little surprising to me as well, but to his credit he was true to his word. In this interview he expressed how he wanted immediate ice time and didn't want to go to a "huge" place where he would be fighting for time: http://www.hockeysfuture.com/articles/1065...ts_dylan_olsen/ And in my humble opinion this may be better for the Sioux in the long run. I was kinda confused on how it would work out if he did choose North Dakota. It would have been a log jam at D the next couple years and we may have lost a kid to a transfer which isn't good for anybody. And after all UMD needed a little payback after the Sioux took Forbort out of their backyard (although you gotta believe that stung the Bulldog faithful a little more than this stings us).
  4. Maybe not a surprise but Corban Knight is the AJHL rookie of the year: http://ajhl.ca/news/2009/02/26/ajhl-announ...ward-winners-2/
  5. I thought Vandy and these radio hosts had some interesting comments on his plans for next year: http://www.thepipelineshow.com/clips/seaso...Velde_Feb24.mp3
  6. I think this kid is one of the more underrated recruits out there right now (if you base recruits on nhl draft status/ranking)
  7. Recent Cichy interview: http://mckeenshockey.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=915464
  8. FYI for tuesday Vandy will be interviewed for the "pipe's" weekly ncaa feature: http://www.thepipelineshow.com/
  9. Mattson has to be a serious threat for Mr. Hockey. This line is pretty crazy: http://mbhsh.stats.pointstreak.com/playerp...p;seasonid=3534 He also has to be making his case to go straight to college, and get drafted a little higher than his mid-term ranking: http://www.nhl.com/ice/page.htm?id=29396 No matter what happens it should be fun to see him in a Sioux jersey.
  10. I have no idea either. But something tells me by recruiting him the coaches know more about future departures then they admit. Because if you only count the current players/commitments the sioux will definately have 8 d-men in 2010 because there is no way forbort and mattson will be held back. If Olsen chose UND that would be 9 d-men that year. Long story longer I can speculate all I want but in the end the coaching staff certainly knows a lot more than I ever will when it comes to recruiting.
  11. For argument's sake I don't think Gleason would be very happy to spend another year in the USHL. Based on Brad's interview last summer he was O.K. with it this year but not in complete agreement: http://www.areavoices.com/undhockey/?blog=30514 And other players have noted that the coaches usually give the player an option to come in if they believe they are ready, but they just don't gurantee any playing time. This is the only conflict I see in Olsen's recruitment. Obviously he is a top-end prospect and a guy you definately bring in if he says yes, but it creates an interesting situation for next year's class. In my opinion they will have 8 d-men next year if Olsen chooses UND and Genoway stays and the players will be forced to compete. The one thing that keeps bugging about this is that a player may be compelled to leave if he feels his ice time will be limited. I guess we'll just have to see what Olsen decides.
  12. From other articles I could find it seems he is definately a strong power forward that will play a lot like Darcy Zajac does now. Not necessarily lighting the lamp but a very good forecheck.
  13. Sorry: http://ajhl.ca/news/2009/02/18/oilers-pres...o-north-dakota/
  14. <P>There is a serious love affair going on with the AJHL: <A href="http://ajhl.ca/news/2009/02/18/oilers-press-release-rodwell-commits-to-north-dakota/">http://ajhl.ca/news/2009/02/18/oilers-press-release-rodwell-commits-to-north-dakota/</A></P>
  15. I do too but it gives us time to speculate. One thing I've noticed is Brad's little brother is doing pretty well against older competition: http://nbpeimmhl.stats.pointstreak.com/pla...p;seasonid=3040 And the scouting news now thinks he may be a first round QMJHL pick: http://www.thescoutingnews.com/index.php?o...1&Itemid=51 Hopefully Brad has a big influence on him.
  16. Hockey's future recent viewpoint in case some haven't read it: http://www.hockeysfuture.com/articles/1088...ospects_update/
  17. Also eigth in the state in +/-: http://mbhsh.stats.pointstreak.com/scoring...ortby=plusminus
  18. I wish this kid would get it over with so I can quit dreaming: http://news.therecord.com/Sports/article/478243
  19. Here's Walski's replacement: http://ajhl.ca/news/2009/01/26/canucks-pre...o-north-dakota/
  20. Fallstrom is committed to Harvard.: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pq-...RsjRw&gid=1 Haula's still available and ranked 55 on the recent CSB rankings: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?fid=9273 He is from Finland however: http://www.s-sm.org/ftpimages/131/download...82_id366443.xls I think foreign guys like him lean toward the CHL, but then again I am just guessing. Maybe someone else knows for sure if he is looking at the NCAA.
  21. I agree completely on Hextall. His career is going to be a treat to watch. He drives opponents crazy, but also has demonstrated good hockey sense, offensive ability, and leadership. Not a doubt in my mind he will wear the "C" someday.
  22. Spirko. Just wish he would have had a longer career here.
  23. In this article Corban Knight says he was told some players might turn pro this summer for the Sioux. Anyone know who? http://www.highrivertimes.ca/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=1396455
