  1. There is a good chance that I will show up with many adults and children. As few as three of us and as many as nine. It'd be a fine meal in advance of the third-place game. Too bad the Hogger is smoke-free. Can't get the kids exposed to vice early enough these days.
  2. Geez MafiaMan. And here all along I just figured that you were simply a harmless jackbooted thug who likes to push guys around the dart boarding floor.
  3. A fine restaurant with a solid breakfast and some right good bloody marys. I hear that they have some dart boards as well.
  4. Well, let me get on board here as well. Need two for the Saturday game. E-mail or call me at 612.201.3239. In fairness, I suppose that you should fill other folks' needs in the order in which they are placed.
  5. IGNORE. Sorry for the multiple post. I am sometimes hopeless. Jim, fix this damned thing!! Or maybe it is me.
  6. No problem SqC. I pretty much deal in stale facts in all walks of life and am more about living in the past than in the present. I do not follow the high schools as closely as you obviously do so I will defer to your read. I really know little to nothing about the other Suburban East D-1 recruits, but it is great to see so many. Of course, kids, and especially their parents, should well understand that there is absolutely no shame to playing D III, that D III is some great hockey that requires great talent, and that it is damned tough to even be a D III prospect.
  7. Thanks NorthCountry. Sorry we missed you. This was very kind and generous of you. My boys snuck into the building masquerading as popcorn vendors.
  8. Jamie Russell and his staff are solid coaches and will have their boys prepared. They know that they will need to go deep into the Final Five or their season is over. They will be up and going hard. If the Sioux take them lightly, we will have a week off from play. That would suck, only because how much fun the Final Five is when the Sioux are in town. Tech has beaten some very good teams this year. Here is hoping that the Sioux will get healthy in the training room soon and that they will get healthy on the ice, with some goals and big rout swagger, against Tech next weekend. The Ralph crowd will hopefully remember to give the boys an extended curtain call for a great season regardless of what happens.
  9. You got a team of kids who do not like going into the corners, who are not much for taking, or giving, the body, who like to stand around and watch a bit too much, who are much more likely to get tough after the whistle than before the whistle, and who got roundly beat tonight by a team that, by your own admission, is going nowhere. How, pray tell, is that sitting pretty? If, or when, the Mavs sweep you out of town, will you still be sitting pretty?
  10. Yup. I pulled my post but you beat me to my idiocy. Nevermind. Doesn't matter. The Mavericks are gonna beat the Gophers. Enjoy your trip to Mankato.
  11. With the exception of Roseville?? C'mon squirtcoach, can you say Hobey Baker? Marty Sertich. Andrew Carroll, assistant captain for the Bulldogs this year. I could go on and on. Cottage Grove might suck, but Roseville certainly produces its well fair share of D1 talent over the years. As compared to, say, Woodbury, Hastings, Stillwater, Forest Lake.
  12. Afternoon Bump. Still looking. Two anywhere. Call 612.201.3239 or JohnnyV. at 701.238.9055 if you can help.
  13. What Rex?? The Gophers are the New York Yankees of college hockey. They, and their fans, expect to go far into the tournaments every year. This year is no different. At the beginning of the year, all of the Gopher faithful were crowing about championships and trophies on all levels for their boys this year. What with the great facilities, the storied tradition, the top-shelf recruits, the coaching brain trust, and the knowledgeable fan base, anything short of a Frozen Four appearance constitutes a choke for the most golden of all chokers, the Gophers.
  14. morning bump. Still looking. Actually, those who would occupy these seats are very decent and respectable Sioux fans. Of course, most all of us are.
  15. I have a bit of a headache too MafiaMan . . . . Instead of being at The Ralph tonight, I will be in The John. Flying the Sioux colors watching the Gophers and the Bulldogs do battle in the annual Brown and Yellow Bowl. God, I had scatological reference. I hate that. Now, git on over to BIG and do the Lord's Work. Being a right solid Pa.
  16. Yeah, but only from that part of Minnesota that lies northerly and westerly of a line commencing at the Minnesota/North Dakota border at the point commonly known as Wahpeton/Breckenridge, thence northerly following Hwy 75 a distance of approximately 117 miles to that point commonly known as Crookston, Minnesota, thence easterly along a line following Hwy 2 a distance of approximately 250 miles to that point commonly known as Duluth, Minnesota and there terminating. Such area including the principal hockey hotbeds of Moorhead, East Grand Forks, Crookston, Thief River Falls, Warroad, Roseau, Bemidji, Grand Rapids, International Falls, Hibbing, Eveleth, Hallock, Baudette, Virginia, Bagley, Hermantown, and Duluth, also known as Sections 7 and 8. The rest of Minnesota, with but a few exceptions, actually produces some rather milktoast hockey talent, other than those Minnesota products who had the good fortune and the genuine foresight to hone their talents, both on and off the ice, at the University of North Dakota.
  17. Looking for two for the Saturday, March 8 game. Will pay fair market value, or trade two Gopher-Bulldog tickets, plus pay fair market value. Because I am looking to set up two drooling drunks, lower bowl is preferred. Call 612.201.3239 if you have anything.
  18. NCAA Hypocrisy - New Mexico Casino Deal If this has already been posted, my apologies.
  19. All that you wish to know is probably right here . . . .Dave Berger Article
  20. Looked around a bit for you but no luck. I was probably too occupied with my snout in those ice cream dishes all weekend. Wow, the DECC sure has it all over The Ralph in terms of concessions, and concession prices. Although a bit of a dump after all these years, still a great college hockey atmosphere and the students are alot of fun. Anyway, I do hope to travel to the REA for Round I. I will probably be showing off some dance moves at The Diamond as well.
  21. Wow. Treacherous drive south of Duluth on I-35. Freezing rain. We saw a pickup truck roll over and back right side up. Folks seemed alright. Big multi-car pileup near Moose Lake. Ditched vehicles everywhere. A real white knuckler for awhile. Hope Hwy 2 West was in better shape, and that all are home safely.
  22. It was a great college hockey game. The Bulldogs were flying. The place exploded after the Dogs scored for the first time in over eleven periods. The Sioux came up huge to first tie the game and then win it in OT. A solid win, and an impressive sweep, over a damned good Duluth club that was hungry and desperate for goals and points. Another good lesson learned for the boys. What the heck. There is no reason to lose between now and the end of the year. Ten more wins. That'd probably set a few school records, and put this team at the top of the heap. The top of many heaps. It's gonna be a great rest of March and first twelve days of April.
  23. C'mon Goon. Where's your confidence in this team? You figuring that we are going to lose the first round of the playoffs?
