  1. I broke out a new hat for the Saturday game to shake things up a bit. We sat on the glass across from Hak. He had to have been hacked with the hat. Most people were. The game on Friday was about as low a point as a team, and fans of a team, can get during a regular season matchup. The game on Saturday was about as high as a team, and fans of a team, can get during a regular season matchup. A real roller coaster of a weekend.
  2. Puffy is done. Why would KFAN ever want him back? He is a poor analyst, he has already embarrassed himself at least once with his run in with the officials, and he will be forever ridiculed, especially if he is exonerated, by the fan base. He is of zero value to KFAN. His contract likely has a "good boy" clause and he has clearly not been a good boy. Driving on a suspended license? I actually like the guy, because he is a bit of a putz, just like me. This said, anyone who thinks that KFAN will want him back is sadly mistaken. Not to worry, there will be plenty more homer boys in line to take his job and to dish you your Kool Aid.
  3. Sargeant Bucky, straight from the Maplewood PD. Whatever the facts are, I hope that Dubay gets himself straightened up to the extent that he needs to, and that he not leave a wake of carnage with his wife, kids, and loved ones. And with himself. He, and they, all deserve better. Meth is an insidiously insipid snake. The only fact that is certain is this . . . . His career at KFAN is over. Same for the Twin Cities market. While he perhaps always had little credibility, he now has zero credibility in the local radio and media markets. Sad, perhaps, but true. Dubay is kaput, and the world of objective sports commentary is all the better for it.
  4. Man, that's a big 10-4 there SGiStP. An unbelievably boring and irrelevant stray from what could be a thread on the finest college hockey tournament in the land. Anyone ever "upgrade" their seats at order time? If so, what kind of luck did you have in getting an improved seating preference? I think that they raised the end zone nosebleeds about $5/game. Still, $78 for five games ain't all that bad.
  5. It's October 10, the boys are 1500 miles from home, and they have practiced together for about all of one week. And it's BU. Not exactly a pushover. We will be fine, and will probably make this game close as well.
  6. Check out some links and photos here. There is a detailed seating chart at the bottom of the page. Looks like about 26-28 rows. If you want to be safe, I'd figure halfway or so. Mariucci Facts
  7. Joe Finley on Friday. Joe Finley on Saturday.
  8. Tickets to the West Regional at The John went on sale this morning. Gophersports.com. It is probably a foregone conclusion that the Sioux, as No. 1 West seed, will be sent there as part of the long standing NCAA practice of putting the Sioux and the Gophers in the same regional. The Gophers will probably make the tournament as well (unless they pull a CC Move and choke in the year of hosting their own regional) and tickets will be hard in coming at a fair price. I recommend that you get yours now. In the extremely unlikely chance that the Sioux are not at The John on March 27-28, the Gophers will be and you can unload to the Kool-Aid Crowd in the Twin Cities.
  9. Pete is da man for anyone in need of a Sioux satellite set in the metro area. Prompt, courteous, professional service. Especially nice when dealing with tech challenged boneheads like me. Give him a holler and get your setup now. You will not be disappointed.
  10. The former North Central Conference, for years, was the best and toughest D-II conference in all the land. Rivalries were long built and hard fought. Regional games with the Montana schools, and more recently with Grand Valley State, were also tossed in. I, for one perhaps among many, miss the old NCC, and know that the Sioux will not return to a conference, with long established rivalries, for a good many years yet. It will also be years before the Sioux become any type of real player at the D-1 level. I would much rather follow the team, both at home and on the road, travelling the NCC than across the country with our new found conference opponents. Sure, someday we will again play the Bison. We will get whipped by them for a few years, and we will hold our own with them eventually. Not, however, for what will likely be at least ten years or so. The guy may be a tool, but I agree with much of what he says. Bigger ain't always better. While there may have been many good reasons to go to the D-1 level, the loss of the once proud and great North Central Conference is a tough by-product of that move.
  11. I live in the Twin Cities and proudly put one up a few weeks ago. The next morning, the thing was gone. Unbelievable. I will put up another, and will electrify it.
  12. Direct personal attack removed by the moderation team. GDM Forums Moderator SiouxSports.com
  13. What is with this "we" stuff Dean? Why are you so obsessed with wasting your time, and our time, here? When is your momma going to call you home for dinner? Where are all your little Golden Gopher friends? Whining away in their Gopher Holes? Who is your daddy? The Fighting Sioux, and all of their fans, are your daddy . . . .
  14. If you define a trip to the Frozen Four with a shot at The Crown underachieving, I suspect that you are a solid underachiever yourself there Dean-o.
  15. Sadly, I just finished paying off another vehicle after 60 months of payments. It is breaking down immediately. I swear that the manufacturers put either a 36, 48, or 60-month chip in those computers to make certain that a vehicle starts having problems as soon as they are paid up. I ain't going there. I am in the market for a Ford Fiesta. Or a '66 Chevrolet Biscayne.
  16. A little birdie told me that Wheeler bought himself a 1997 Buick Century with only 145,000 miles on it with some of his signing bonus money . . . .
  17. 0 for the last four Frozen Fours.
  18. From his first days as a freshman, to fighting through his near career ending headaches that year, to his breakout game against the Badgers at the Final Five, to his wearing the C with pride and distinction, Kaip has ALWAYS been top shelve in our books here. His only mistake, perhaps, might be the decision to walk the dreaded wedding aisle sometime this summer. Marriage, it is sometimes said, has been the ruin of many a good man. And, to be fair, the ruin of many a good woman as well.
  19. Peter Waselovich. Big stud during some lean years.
