  1. The Target Center is OK. Not built for hockey but it can accommodate it well enough. The seats are a disgrace but they are getting changed out as part of the remodel. Moving people in and out of the building was much improved, even with construction. The scoreboard is top shelf. The ushers and vendors are much improved, and getting tuned in to the hockey atmosphere. It will compete hard to keep this event. Local hotels and hospitality will throw in on this front as well. It'll come down to one of economics. Solid North Dakota fans will show up regardless of the venue. The NCHC powers will play a numbers game. Just like all businesses do and will. The NCHC doesn't much give a darn on alot of your opinions, and it isn't going to lose any sleep if some of you decide to stand on principle and not come to town. Your loss. Not the NCHC's. Besides, the Xcel is often booked hard and may not have the flexibility to accomodate the NCHC. Finally, the streets of Saint Paul roll up hard. Every night. Early. Not the case in Sin City. Finally, I am disappointed in alot of the fans in the so-called State of Hockey. Premier college hockey tournament in town. The beloved Gophers are in Detroit and it is obvious that no one went there. I thought I'd see alot of impartial college hockey fans often seen at Mariucci in attendance. Just for the love of watching the game.
  2. Tick. Tock. Beat the clock and pick these up when you are in town for the Frozen Faceoff . . . . Chicago is a great city. The United Center is a great arena. It is an easy drive. North Dakota will be there. Sadly, we cannot go. Four in second row, corner. Your friends will see you on TV. Also, we have four in upper deck, corner. Asking for what we paid from the NC$$. Lowers are pricey but one can't put a price on Number 9 in person, eh? The price of this cardboard is either going up, or down, after the Regionals are over. See y'all around the arenas. fortparker911@msn.com.
  3. Glad to see that all of the Green Weenie Club officers found their meds and, as some have observed, are indeed back on the bandwagon. Those of such little faith should feel shame and sit for five minutes. It was a great weekend series win. Next weekend is doubly critical. As I have often said, it's the NCHC. No game is ever easy. Top to bottom. Here is a faint green weenie observation. Unlike past years, perhaps, the NCAA committee will do everything that they can to keep the Gophers out of the West Regional. The reasons for this are, of course, obvious. See all of you believers around the arenas . . . .
  4. Take the Greenie Weenie Club elsewhere boys. My God, ye of so little faith. Embarrassing. It's Blais. UNO. The NCHC. The NCAA in late February. Did you expect anything other than a war? Game is far from over. Damned straight siouxforcefans. Get these panties off of the ledge. See y'all in Chicago.
  5. I posted here long ago. We have four seats in the second row of the arena, corner looking to the bench, and in the second to last row of the arena, looking to glass. Looking to move either set for face value. At least for face value if they are bought before the Regionals are over. The boys will be there. Book it. So, book your trip, and get your tickets now. Thanks. PM me if interested.
  6. Tix are GONE. Done. Dead. Gone.
  7. Price drop . . . . $90. For the pair. Delivered by noon Saturday in Grand Forks. Or available for pick-up in the Twin Cities
  8. I am selling a pair for Saturday night, October 29. $90 for the pair. The Siouxsports "tickets" section. I'd link it here but I am a dumb ass.
  9. Or quite a bit less if you check the Ticket thread on Siouxsports.com
  10. I have had a sudden change of plan. As such, I have two (2) tickets for the Saturday, October 29 clash in Amsoil. A simple, safe, and easy drive across Highway 2 or up I-35 for those living in the Twin Cities. Section 124, Row 7. $98 for the pair. Can arrange for pick-up in the Twin Cities (Roseville) by Friday evening. Or, if you are in GF, I will be in GF on Saturday by noon. This would leave you with plenty of time to pick up tickets and hit the road to see the most heralded series of this still young young season. Call, text, or e-mail. fortparker911@msn.com 6-1-2-2-zero-one-32 39. Also, for early commits, four Frozen Four tickets at cost. At least right now. Either two rows off of the glass or up in the section 300.
  11. We bought some extras for the Friday-Saturday series with the Gophers in Minneapolis for a group that has now leaked. November 4-5. These are standing rooms. We paid $100 each with fees. I'll eat the $10 fee and let go for $90. If you haven't been to Mariucci, standing rooms are great spots at a rail around the arena. Other than standing, some of the best views of the game. Quick to latrines and concessions, and out the door. If you've ever been to a Sioux-Gophers series there, you know these games can and will be priceless. I don't know if they are sold out yet. If you are planning to go, pick these up from me at a discount rather than further padding the Gopher nest. Pricey? Perhaps. It's the increasing cost of watching the greatest rivalry in the greatest game on earth. fortparker911@msn.com is best way to let me know. I don't check back here as often. Tix in the Twin Cities from a rock solid guy.
  12. Put me down for TWO MafiaMan. I'll start eating more ice cream and drinking more sugar pops.
  13. Nothing wrong with Mankato joining the NCHC best I can tell, except that their departure will hurt the WCHA. I could never figure out folks who cry about Saint Cloud being in the league. They've a very nice arena, a reasoned array of Pizza Hut banners, a fine coach, and a solid D1 program. And it is an easy road trip for legions of fans. Mankato is not far off of these marks. It's college hockey. Look at the programs, not at the name of the university or the city in which it is located. MSU-Mankato has a damned good coach and is in a great recruiting position. It has always been competitive with NDU. It At least nearly so. And another relatively easy road trip for many. Frankly, these days, they'll throw a more competitive game on the ice than will most, of not all, of the patsies in the Pig10. My three cents. Agreed. Let's douse the arrogance. After all, it's only hockey.
  14. A little birdie told me that folks are going to love this logo and brand. Word has it that there is going to be a squealing bloody little rodent hanging from its talons while the Hawk soars to new heights.
  15. We have four (4) tickets to the Frozen Faceoff this weekend in Minneapols. Corner section 106, looking at benches. Row Q. Friday session only $50 each. Both sessions. $125. Face value. Call 701.840.3079. Ask for Dave.
  16. Hey. I've been working on a plan to win him back! On second thought, he's a bit creepy. Burn him bcblues. Burn. Him.
  17. NC$$ does seem to like pairing ND and Minnesota in Regionals though. I'd love to see this match up. Anytime. Anywhere. For any prize. It will be interesting to see where things shake out. All I know for sure is that we are now upon the absolute best time of the sporting year. College hockey stretch runs. The crack of the bat. The Stanley Cup. And The Masters. Basketball and football banished to banal hell.
  18. Hey Sprig. Yep, I trust that I will be there. I'm still waiting for that proprietor there to come out and greet the gang, and to thank us profusely for our faithful business. If only he could pull himself away from the mirror and do this. Having just served a sentence in the hospitality business, it's critical. And it's elementary.
  19. Not sure why you say this Oxbow. The NC$$ will certainly do all it can to put UND in the West. The boys will probably earn that right with a late run and an overall #1 seed. Even if St. Cloud finishes ahead of us, the Committee will look at locations and numbers. 1000 Huskie fans travel, if that. Compared to 8000 ND fans. It's elementary math. ND will be at the X. And so too will probably be the Chokes. Perhaps. March 27 may well bring another Sioux-Gopher game for the right to go to Tampa. Book it. And get your tickets now.
  20. I just bought tickets at the arena. No separate tickets. One ticket for Friday session. One ticket for Saturday session.
  21. Saturday night, December 5 game against the hated Pioneers. SOLD SOLD SOLD
  22. Yep. I am my own worst critic. I do think Mr. Mark is great, and he sure beats the occasional barbershop quartet that we used to see. I am just a big fan of full crowd participation for the anthem. I forget what NHL city might do this. 13,000 fans belting the anthem gives me chills. Have a great Thanksgiving. Everyone. The boys are on the crest of a big wave.
  23. Relax. I never said that I did not like him, nor was I complaining about him. Everyone who sings the Anthem should have help from the crowd. Just because he is good doesn't mean everyone else should shut their traps. If I recall correctly, the crowd is even invited to join him. Very few people do. I am sure he would not be offended if the crowd drowned him out.
  24. Just in. Donny and the Pig 10 want a new college hockey rule that would cap the maximum age of incoming student athletes at twenty. The NCHC and the WCHA both oppose the rule change. Last I checked, there are lots of young adults who wait more than a few years before going to college. A slightly older player makes for a much more exciting game. As I always have said, if I wanted to go to a high school hockey game like The Don apparently wants to play, I'd go to a high school hockey game. Cripes almighty. The guy's squad, and the league in which they play, drop off of the college hockey radar and all they can do is cry, cry cry.
