per Schlossman's tweeter account:
"expect Mitch MacMillan to join his brother, Mark, here at UND this semester. He won't be eligible until next January."
-
SCSU looses another player. Cam Reid bolts. http://www.stcloudst...0&storyID=37284
Ouch! Probably wasn't their best player but he certainly wasn't bad and this has to hurt them.

The best year of Mitch MacMillian's hockey career is the year of juniors where he had a centerman named Mark MacMillian. Mitch ran at a better than goal-a-game pace that year. I wouldn't have a problem with Mitch coming in under the understanding that there are no guarantees and that he'd be a walk-on, and having to earn every minute.
I agree with that. I mean it's not like UND has had bad success with brothers on a team. (Panzers, Hoogsteins)

Not really new news but today during the weekly chat from 3-4 pm. Brad was asked if he had any info on where Mitch McMillan is planning on going since he left St. Cloud before the Christmas break. Brad said he will try contact him in the next couple days but wouldn't be surprised if he comes to UND. Sounds like we may get another McMillian during the midway point next season. Brothers McMillian might be a good line combo.

Not sure where this belonged but did any of u watch the Notre Dame Hockey special on Versus(NBC Sports Network) following their game Sat night? It was a propaganda-fest focusing on their "elite" program , "rich" history and new state of the art arena. To me, it was ripe with UND wanna-be. That being said, the one hour show was well produced and centered on the buildup of their game vs BC in mid November. The game was a beauty, with ND scoring a goal with mere seconds left in OT. Just curious if snyone else caught it. They have replayed it since. Bottom line, if you are a casual hockey fan, you walk away thinking its Notre Dame at the top of the world and everyone else is playing for second.
And that is the reason why i didn't want to give my viewership to it. Come back when you have won 7 NCAA titles and than we can talk about an "elite" program otherwise Notre Dame is just like the rest of the D1 teams.

Looks like the National is set to announce a 16 game CBS sports TV package. This looks good.
-
Well I guess we need to start somewhere. Who knows maybe he will do a bang up job.

Team USA beats Canada West 7-3 Luke Voltin with a goal. Anthony Louis had the had trick for Team USA. Anyone know where this Louis is headed? He is 16 small like Rocco and was really good today.
-
Anyone know what Colten St. Clair is doing this winter to keep his hockey skills up to snuff?
I thought I heard he was working out at the hockey academy @REA.

With the news of all these injuries, it makes pissing last night's "W" away all the more disturbing.
Will be interesting to see how the 16 healthy bodies that are available react tonight. Maybe Dell can steal one? Or at least play better than last night.
I hear you there. It seems the injury bug has been after the sioux players. Going all the way to Canada to get Forbort. Crazy.
-
I mean what can you say the kid is just sick.

Via twitter
Geeze, the Sioux have been bitten hard by the injury bug this season.
This certainly is not good. It's gut check time boys.
-
I thought the Czech's were totally classless with the celebrations and the canadian crowd a bunch of douche bags. It's something called karma and team Canada will get theirs someday.

Fasching Guertler, and Cammarata are widely considered the top 3 recruits in the 1995 birth year. In fact, Cammarata and Guertler went 1-2 in the USHL Futures Draft, and if Fasching hadn't gone to the USNTDP, he would have very likely gone in the Top 3 as well. I'm sorry, but those three headline a 2013 draft class for the Gophers that is probably only rivaled by Michigan at this point.
Hudson should be a good player.

To anyone interested in watching a little hockey tonight:
Sioux recruits Luke Voltin and Keaton Thompson (Team USA) are playing the Czech Republic in the World U-17 Challenge

Cool. thanks MissSioux.

So the Red Stars after they played UND have won against Alexandria, lost against Bismarck, beat Vermont 6-1(ouch) and lost to Yale 6-4.
-
His brother left DU after a semester, so I"m not sure his experience was real positive.
And that was exactly my point. I bet he doesn't go the college route.
-
Aren't some of these recruits worried about playing time. The gophers are starting to remind me of the Wisconsin Badgers. We all see how well that works out.
-
I'm not saying you're wrong, because I too think he will go MJ....but, I thought there was an article from a year or two back saying his dad was hoping he'd play college and that it was a good chance he would go that route. His dad played college (and NBA) basketball, so maybe he can convince him of the upside there is to college.
Just a thought...
Didn't his brother go to DU for a season? I wonder if that experience will be a factor in any decision. I thought a kid by the name of J.T. Miller was for sure coming to UND but I guess we saw what happened there so anything is possible.
-
Merry Christmas Sioux fans. Here's to a productive 2012.
-
It seems to me that he would already have a decision in place prior to leaving SCSU. It will be interesting to see where he goes. He currently has 5pts, which puts him one less shy of his brother Mark with 6pts. From what I understand they play well together and I wouldn't be surprised if UND adds him during the xmas break next year.
-
Any one hear any more news on the Mitch MacMillian leaving SCSU? I wonder if he plans to join UND and his brother?
-
One could also argue that NDSU is better than Alabama based on performances by both teams against Georgia Southern.
Why do UND fans continue to degrade the level of competition that their athletes play at, and if I-FCS is the new Division II, how much validity does that give UND's national championship run in '01?
Congrats Bison. We will see how things turn out. Perhaps going to your own blog to pump your chest is better suited for you and your fanbase. No need to come here and gloat.

I agree. Won't hurt. I can only imagine going from SCSU to UND. Kid must be pumped.
