How do you glean this from the story or the emails? I know you believe this to be true (and it may be for all I know) but the story does nothing to prove it.
In defense you sure didn't see an email from the provost sent to the nc$$ attaching the results of the Spirit Lake Sioux tribe that voted in favor of the sioux name. You would think that would be just as important news as this satisfied at least half of the two tribe permission we need.

It's strange that you're arguing against any possibility that Eaves might be leaving for the NHL while at the same time posting a link to an article in a UW paper that talks about Eaves possibly leaving for the Devils. It is especially strange considering that article does not quote Eaves anywhere denying this possibility.
Now that is funny.

Might as well add the Wittchow kid as he said he is looking at UND and other WCHA schools.

I will almost certainly gurantee JT suits up for the Sioux the next year or two. After that all bets are off.

This is why so many people in the United States and around the world love it when Canada loses in hockey; whether in international competition or when one of their 6 (soon to be 7) NHL teams fails. They are sore winners (this is OUR game and no one else should be allowed success in it) and losers (what we saw last night). I for one was not surprised at what happened and I am very happy that the Cup will remain in the United States for another 12 months.
Amen to that.

I am no supporter of one and done's in any sport whether it be hockey, basketball or whatever. it is not good for the sport and if this kid has any aspirations of only being here one year than I say let him go now.
It's tough to argue that and if true we are perhaps better off without him. I tend to think once here he will have a different perspective.

It would be nice to see the tax money the state can collect from all this. Distribute some to all ND residents. Perhaps Native North Dakotans get a percentage more than Transplants.

Oh yeah. Let's go Sioux. Sioux yeah yeah!

There of course are two sides to every story and then there's the truth. I think when looking at this from face value it looks pretty bad. However there were a good many who did and do have problems with Alice. I respect and admire her long dedication to UND and the many people she has touched. I work at UND and know people in her area who are happy she is gone. You see Alice thought she was going to just roll right over Dr. Ressor and run things the way she wanted to run them. It has been known for a while that President Kelley was looking in a new direction and ideas for Student Enrollment. He didn't like the model of just getting as many students as possible to stack numbers much like NDSU did with Chapman. Dr. Kelley is looking for good enrollment but is now focusing in on quality and not quanity.
I wish Alice the best and most of us average workers would never have received a severance package so she does at least have a years worth of pay and a payout of her vacation and percentage of sick time. She probably got a check for close to 200,000.
This is just a point of view from the inside. Not saying this was right but I did want to share that there are some people on campus who think this was a good move.

hate reading this
Midterm Rank: 30 | League Rank: 2nd USHL | Country Rank: 2nd USAThe skill set to be reliable 2 way forward has always been there as prior to this year, Miller has been at worst a strong skating centerman who plays hard on both sides of the puck. He always possessed the puck skills necessary to contribute offensively but lacked that consistency leading to questions about his hockey sense. Miller seems to have answered those as the year progressed culminating in an excellent showing at the U18

Not sure if the Sioux were ever in the running, but Nolan Zajac (Travis' younger brother) has committed to Denver
Via USHL on Twitter
What's that Zajac thinking.

Well hopefully with JGregs departure this will be the last person leaving. It kind of feels like Wisconsin around here with all these departures. I kid! We certainly will have a different look but that doesn't mean it is a bad thing either. As I have said before #8 will come when we least expect it. After this season I agree with that statement even more. It will be fun to see the new freshies come in. I hope Grimaldi and Miller tear it up.
-
Just for the record the fourth place team in the WCHA won the NCAA title this season. I think when UMN won one of their titles they finished third that season. All you have to do is make the tourney and roll the dice.
Goon you are so right. I tell you what when UND does win # 8 it will be during a time that we least expect it. Look no further than UMD as a prime example.

Best of luck to you Jason you were a great sioux player. I really thought he would come back and finish his senior season. It really makes you appreciate those players that do decide to stick around when the bigs come calling. I think last year was probably an anomoly and we won't see a large group of players stick around like that again.

gophers superstars
jumbo shrimp
authentic replica
virtual reality
etc...etc...
I understand this is an oxymoron!
-
I feel these are the role players that make Sioux hockey successful. I mean the gophers get all the superstars and look where that leaves them.
-
Man I hope JGregs comes back for his Senior year. #StayaSioux

No offense to either Trupp or Duncan...but Grimaldi is at a whole other level than them in regards to offensive ability and speed.
He is going to be very fun to watch next season.
I agree with that point however Trupp was a creative mastermind that will be missed.

The Forum hit piece today was more of the same crap you get from the Herald progressives...how is it that when people stand up for what is right versus what is expedient they are identified as stubborn mules. Apparently, stubborn mules is a metaphor for not being as smart as them. I actually take pride that we didn't back down from the NCAA and I think in this case principle means more than what is supposedly sacrificied by not complying with the dictatorship we call the NCAA.
BobIwabuchiFan
I just love how politicians and elitists think they know what is best for us the common folk. No name attached to the piece and it was clearly a hatchet job. I think this will be headed back to court because the will of the people in North Dakota is to have the Fighting Sioux nickname.
-
Why would the NCAA want to get into the middle of a mess between the Legislature and the SBoHE?
Sounds like they were going to before it became open to the public.
-
To be honest until the teams can be more successful interest will be minimal. Those are not neccessarily my views but I have heard others say so. With interest and success will coverage only change.
-
Hextall is gone.
Your probably right.
-
Very disappointing. Did not see that coming at all.
That is bad news. I would expect he will sign. Could be the start of some early signings that have for the most part evaded us the last couple years.

He could have already dropped most of his classes given the fact that he was in the hospital in St. Paul for half the semester....
He is still enrolled in school. That is a fact.
