Rau (the good one...) to Gophers. Great going in, but I am sure the team will be better when he leaves...
I am still fuming on this one.
-
Looks like something out of a Japanese anima (sp).
-
Might as well enjoy it now because they won't stay down for much longer.
The flip side to getting such good recruits is their respected teams that own their rights will surely come calling early. We also know how some GMs feel about how draftees progress at a certain school. (UMN)
-
The gophers as a team suck and they can load up all the elite talent they want but that still may not fix their problems. I don't understand how they can suck and still get good recruits. Well as they say we will see how it all unfolds.

I am a Sioux fan and I hope he flops against us just curious what he was all about
Oh for sure Siouxhockey78 I am also curious as well. I just hate the gophers but DU is coming in right behind them oh and BC too.
-
I heard he's pretty good. anyone got anything on him
Aren't most gopher recruits. We will see how he does when he has to play at UND.
If he ends up being great he won't stick around very long.

This is such a BS reply. If you don't agree with what is going on at UND, one of the ways that you can make that known is by withholding donations. What is so wrong with that? Just because someone doesn't donate doesn't mean they can't still like the hockey team, football team, etc.
When a professional athlete screws up, what happens? They get suspended and fined. They hit them where it hurts and where they'll feel it.
You don't like what's going on at UND, there is nothing wrong with withholding your donations. That's where they'll feel it and you can make your point known. Are there other ways to do this? Sure. But which way will get people's attention more?
You may not like people withholding donations and that's fine...you don't have to like it. But quit chastizing people for their decision to handle it this way.
I agree that is really a BS reply and then I saw who the poster was and it all made sense.

NERDS!!!
That is hilarious. Fredrick Pawlowatski, That's Oger you asshole!
-
Maybe on the outside but actually if you look real close the inside looks more like the inside of the Fargodome come playoff time.
Ain't that the truth.

A discussion of Ice Hockey venues on Skysraper forum.....
That's was a neat link to look at. REA sure is a great building!!

Wow, that's perfect ChadR. Thank you a lot!
Thank you too, ticklethetwine, for starting to help as well.
Do either of you, or anyone else, know if this video is played at the beginning of all sporting events or just select events? I know I've seen it at football and hockey games but not sure about basketball.
I have seen it for sure at Hockey and football games not so sure about the others.
Good luck on your speech.

Wasn't sure if the hockey area was the right area to post this but hopefully it works...
I was wondering if anyone knows where I could find a video that UND has shown at the beginning of hockey games (and football I believe, not sure about basketball) that talks about the Sioux name? I think it starts out with "UND chose the Fighting Sioux nickname because the Sioux warriors were courageous...etc" or something along those lines.
The reason I ask is because I'm a Fr. in college at NDSU (I know, I know! I was born and raised in GF and I love the Sioux but UND didn't have the degree I was going into so I had to go a little South. Don't worry though I still rep my Sioux gear here!) and for my persuasive speech for Comm110 I'm going to talk about why UND should be able to keep the nickname. I would like the use the video I'm trying to find as a presentational aid for the speech.
Thanks in advance to anyone who helps,
David
David,
I do believe a video of that exists. It may be cell phone video but I believe there is a video.
I will do some searching and try post it for you. I will always help a fellow sioux fan regardless of your university affiliation.

GO SIOUX!!!!

Apple Valley will sure be fun to watch next year as they may have the best 94 and 95 born players in the country! Sounds like both kids are fans of the maroon and gold. Hopefully they can see whats going on down there!
Let the goophers have them then. We will find our own mix of players that seem to negate any advantage UMN might have over these types of players. Just ask the goophers how well Jordan Schroeder worked out for them.

did you ever figure who the kid was the visited?
I want to say it looked like Michaelson but I am not for sure.
-
But you can have an oversight procedure that would've prevented all of this.
Didn't Potts try to create that oversight and got run out of town by Chapman and his ilk?

UND's UAS Center director resigns
Godspeed in finding a quality replacement.
Children must not have been in the air program. I don't know any other school outside of maybe Embroy Riddle that is better then we are. So they would have been foolish not to come here for that. Outside of that if you aren't from around the region and you don't like Hockey and you would prefer to go to a southern school I can totally understand.

As I was preparing to go to lunch today I looked out my office window and saw Coach Jackson and some individual who looked to be getting a personalized visit by the coach. My guess is that he was showing a recruit around the campus. By the time I thought to snap a picture they were both headed to Squires Hall to eat. Anyone know of any recruits who are visiting this week? It wasn't a current or former sioux player. This kid looked like he was no more then 17.
Update. Just did a quick look to see what AJ Michaelson looks like and the kid I saw with Jackson looked a lot like Michaelson but I can't be 100%. The kid I saw was kind of tall but probably not as tall as Jackson. He looked like a 10th or 11th grader and certainly had dark to dark brown hair and no facial hair. This is the picture I am going from as well. http://www.mnhockeyhub.com/roster_player/s...subseason=16427

Was thinking UND could host with Urban Plains as the rink. The women's Frozen Four doesn't need much seating (unless UND is in it, of course.
)
That just doesn't seem right. To host a FF and not get to show off the Ralph on the national stage but instead go 70 miles south to your arch rivial town. Perhaps!

Yeah Crevec, where the hell is Bison Boy's response to your numbers, Summit League indeed. Bison football is really making news, how about getting us some
52" HD tv's, now that's something to be proud of....
Better yet have them get us some new 3D TV's. Just put them in a cart and wheel them out. You know the Bison Shuffle
-
Here is the funny thing that they didn't need to do anything till June when the Summit league was going to meet.
So they jumped the gun as well. The thing that concerned me was Kelly's statement on how he was now going to
contact the Summit League on Friday. According to Brad's Twitter, the Summit league commish won't even return
their calls. Something is not right here.
Yeah that Doulpe guy hasn't been heard for three or four months. Boy if UND doesn't get into the Summit League Kelley and Faison are going to look like big time dbags.
-
Run em out of town!
This is really quite a shame and if the full extent of this becomes clearer Mr. Kelley and Mr. Faison may want to willingly leave because the !@#$ will hit the fan.
-
Does anyone know what the Badger Media are saying about the game? Are they ripping Eaves? Players? the ice?
Its kind of fun to read what some of those media folks write.

Good point about a certain teams goaltending. Gudmandson really gave up some soft goals. Definitely a fail for playing the frozen four in Ford Field.
And the fact that no one from Wisconsin showed up. I think when Davies had that break away and shot the puck yet the puck wasn't even on his stick really summed up Wisconsins fortunes yesterday. As I have said many times before BC has made the most of their chances when they get to the tourney the last 5-6 years. Last year they didn't even make it. We need to get that NC out of Boston. Last year BU this year BC. Their time well come however to have to face the sioux, since the NCAA seems to like to put us in the same regionals and we are due against them.
