  1. Federov: I'm just curious as to why you make this assumption. Have you had a chance to watch Wheeler play? I have had the opportunity to watch him for the past few summers and he makes things happen. He sees the ice, has good hands, and is smart with the puck. On a side note.....he's even a great guy (even though he's a goph).
  2. I assume the top player you are referring to is Andrew Murray, whom was also missing out of the lineup when they played the Sioux. Also, now as I think back they tied that first night of the series. Not that this is of major concern, but I just wanted to state that BSU should not be dismissed as quickly as some are doing.
  3. I have to disagree with a few sarcastic comments that have been made about Bemidji State. Yes they are in a "lower" conference and they did get an automatic bid that some think isn't fair to other teams that may be better, but I do recall (and maybe some of you have chosen to block it out of your memories) Bemidji State played very closely with our beloved Sioux AND almost beat them one night. No, I don't think they will come out on the winning end against Denver, but they will surprise many and give Denver a run for their money.
  4. Riley is no longer on the team and from what I know is no longer even in school.

    UND vs. BC

Can someone please tell me what in the world is going on??!?!! Are we seriously playing that badly?
  6. They practice at memorial during the week. If they play on grass over the weekend they practice on the grasss fields behind memorial. If it's a home game they start practice at the Al on thursdays.
  7. Can anyone tell me if the game is on webcast tonight??? And if so, how do I go about getting it?

  9. At first I wasn't going to offer my two cents to this topic but being a grad from the west and a strong supporter of bis high and century, I had to speak up. I have many friends who played on east teams that I met in college at UND and can state for a fact that the east believes they are superior to the west. Granted, I do see far better hockey out east, but my belief is that they are more established due to the simple fact that they are closer to minnesota (obviously superior hockey to ND). Switch the west with the east and have them play the likes of warroad, roseau, and so on and you will see a vast improvement in play. I will agree that the east is a better quality of hockey, but to hear over and over that the west isn't even "considered" to be worthwhile really makes me upset. I think I'll start considering teams from the east to be non-existent when it comes to BB, FB (the only worthwhile FB team is West Fargo), and so on.
  10. Jloos- Not that this is the focus of the topic but: I was just curious as to why you feel that NDSU would have a better athletic training program? Have you experienced UND's first hand?
  11. I agree that both BC and Maine looked like they were trying not to lose, but I'm pulling for Maine to win it all. After the Sioux, I love the Blackbears. So since I can't have the best team in the country win, why not the second? And as far as the Denver-Duluth game goes I was very disappointed. IMO the Bulldogs would have given Maine a way better game.
  12. After visiting Florence last week I was slightly disappointed in the area itself, but that's not really the point. The field looked incredible and the committee that put the whole thing together did an outstanding job. Our boys were treated with nothing but the best and I for one don't think that any other area would be able to compare to what the Shoals area has built up over the years for the DII championship. The teams aren't down there to sight see or check out what other exciting venues might be in the area. They are there to focus and get ready for the biggest game of the season. Granted the fans who go down may get bored, but most likely they weren't really down to sight see either.
  13. Initially I was going to refrain from commenting on this thread, but the more I read on the more I felt I needed to. I will not make any excuses for our student section, some are ruthless and sometimes classless, but that is not everyone. I was on UNA's sidelines for the entire game and was able to hear everything quite clearly. The heckling of the cheerleaders was unfair (although only twice did any cheerleaders come close to the student section during the game) and I apologized to the few that did come over. As for the comment about racial slurs....I heard more out of the mouths of the gentlemen from UNA then I did from the student section. The drug comments have to be expected....come on do you think any other team's fans would let that one slide? I have been to many away games in the past and have had to endure my fair share of heckling, but you have to be prepared for that when wearing the "other" team's colors. All in all, there were a few students who did cross the line a few times, but they did their job and got into UNA players' heads. I was amazed at UNA's ability to ignore the crowd for a moajority of the game and I will give them credit for that. Congratulations to UNA on an exceptional season and good luck in the seasons to come. We'll see you in Florence!!!! GO SIOUX!!!
