  1. Ok...well...I'm with ya on UMD, because I do have WCHA pride. But DU has cost the Sioux too much over the years...they are a notch up from Gophers in my book. So the question is...would you be rooting for the gophers tonight? Me in '89? I sat there with my Haavaad sweatshirt on, beer in hand, cheering on Ted Donato and Co. to their OT win over the rodents. But that's just me. So...GO DAWGS!! (While you can!!)
  2. Wonder if Finley can throw a silver dollar across that thing??
  3. Wow, I hadn't remembered that Dunc's hatty was a natural...cool.
  4. Hmmm...Duncan and Kozek...say...aren't they still on our team??
  5. I did too, but I think they've been bitten by the "WCHA rules" bug. In one-and-done hockey, your last game doesn't matter. THIS ONE does.
  6. Princeton has speed, that's not their problem. Kalemba has shored up the gap between the pipes a bit this year, and the Jubinville line has even better chemistry. They won't be a pushover for Miami. Last year Kalemba had never seen anyone with a shot like Kozek...it blew past him before he saw it. Nor had he seen anyone snipe the corner like Duncan...it caught him off guard. Pretty sure that Princeton out-shot the Sioux in that game though. JPL and sniping were the difference for the Sioux.
  7. Ok...good for Scotty and Co. Maybe it will give them some confidence...they are not a high scoring team. They need to find a way to shut Princeton down...if the tigah's score again, I think that's it.
  8. The Tigah's didn't have that many odd-man rushes, but they generated some good chances 5 on 5 and had a couple power play's that made me nervous. Like you said though, once the Sioux were up 3, it was clear sailing.
  9. Princeton gets more SOG than most teams. They peppered JPL last year, but he stood tall. Kozek and Dunc's finally took care of Kalemba.
  10. Use windows media player "classic" and select the RM option.
  11. Favorite thing heard last year in Madison: "Geaux Taigahs" Ok...well...second favorite. My favorite thing was the ping of Duncan's GTG hitting the pipe before going in. Wait...make that Third favorite. The Sioux crowd roar when Kozek put in the Game Winner!!!
  12. ;-) Yeah...those hockey crazy gopher fans that sold out the arena. I mean...they could always wear their "Wild" jersey's, right? The State of Hockey is...um...is...well...um...
  13. After watching the DU - Miami game this question is settled. The answer is "NO". Au revior, go-pher...
  14. Sweet! Dasher George goes home!!!
  15. And it works!! Not that it will help them enough... ;-)
  16. Gwoz pulls Sieve-ree and puts the season on the line.
  17. I think this is a good thing. It drives home the win-or-go-home point for a certain team in green and white. I know one thing: NONE of Ryan Duncan's remaing 4 collegiate games will be taken lightly. He will leave it all on the ice, and he will convince his teammates to do the same. GO SIOUX!!!
  18. I am with you! Dogs are on a roll, and it would be oh-so-sweet to see the Beavers kick it up a notch at the right time. They are not the "auto-win" that some teams might think. And yes, of course... GO SIOUX!!!
  19. Eidsness made a mistake, maybe a miscommunication, maybe a freshman screw up; and it cost the Fighting Sioux a big goal. That one doesn't go in, it's a different game. But Brad is not alone. Think back to the 2001 National Championship game against BC. Karl Goering muffs a pass from behind the net to the stick of a BC forward who stuffs it in the empty net before Karl can even get around the side of the net. First goal of the game...that one doesn't go in and it's a different game...one the Sioux might have won. Karl had already won a National Championship the year before. He'd been there. He wasn't a freshman, he was considered one of the best goalies in college hockey. Yet he still made a similar, and quite costly error. It happens in hockey at all levels, as it happens in sport at all levels. Championship teams overcome these mistakes and put themselves in the position to win anyway. The Sioux took that 2001 game to OT with the most memorable five minutes at the end of a third period I think I've ever seen. And the game winner that beat Karl at the end was a championship goal...worthy of a title. What I am saying is this: All the players on the ice, on both teams, can be expected to make mistakes. The championship team is the one that will shake it off and rally around each others talent and put in 110% to recover and put themselves in position to win. Go Sioux!!
  20. And it was well done. Congrats to the Bulldogs. I don't think you'll find a Sioux fan who will say that their Coach isn't one to be respected, nor their team. Obviously hard work pays off.
  21. In all fairness, it was fun to watch the Sioux take it to CC in last years 3rd place game. Chay with his coast to coast, and JPL with a couple of smokin' hot saves. It was a fun game to watch. This year? Not so much.
  22. Ick. Ok...let's get this out of our system and come back for the next 4 straight!!
  23. If ever the PP needed to redeem itself, that would be now.
  24. I'm hoping there's a hefty dose of Senior Leadership going on in that locker room.
