  1. probably been posted already, but a short ncaa tourney preview on nhl.com

    http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=522534

i especially like the final statement in this paragraph...

"The regional final should feature BC and the Fighting Sioux meeting for the seventh time in the postseason since 2000. Look for the highest scoring of the four regionals -- and the most intense play. No team in any post-season tournament plays with more snarl than UND."

pretty good write up, especially for a non-college hockey site. but they did get one thing wrong as they have bc coming out of our region ;)

The Sioux will NOT be out-snarled!!

    GO SIOUX!!!

  2. congrats kristo

    per brad

Kristo named to all-CHN rookie team

UND freshman Danny Kristo has been named to College Hockey News' freshman All-American team.

The WCHA rookie of the year joins Alaska's Andy Taranto, Merrimack's Stephane Da Costa, Denver's Matt Donovan, Boston College's Brian Dumoulin and Colorado College's Joe Howe on the team.

Kristo was the WCHA's rookie of the year. He currently ranks third on the team in scoring with 15 goals and 36 points.

Most deservedly so. Congratulations Mr. Kristo!!

    Go Sioux!

  3. if you have directv, here's the schedule for the weekend:

    8:00 wisconsin vs vermont 614

    saturday:

as you can see, only the st cloud vs northern michigan game will not be broadcast on directv (provided you have the sports package). perhaps that one will get added before tomorrow as well. that would be sweet.

Somebody put all these up on Justin for us, ok? :D

  4. There's a lot to be said about everything you wrote. I think that whether they're that good or not we want to come out flying Saturday and keeping up the pressure so we have our "A" game polished for Sunday against Alaska.

We beat Alaska in my bracket. :D

They are an easy team to overlook, and BC may be just too focused on another shot at the Sioux. I think the Alaskans will come to play and give BC a game.

  5. All hockey fans the ncaa regionals will be on espn360.com and other various stations this weekend.

Joe Sensers in Roseville & Bloomington will have acess to espn360 with the ability to put it on the big screens live not tape delayed.

I hope everyones teams pull out some victories. We appreciate your business all season long and look forward to some great games this weekend.

    See ya soon

follow joe sensers on twitter and facebook for info all season long.

What about Joe Sensers in Plymouth?

  6. What is truly amazing to me is that the University of Minnesota men's hockey program

hangs NCAA Runner-Up banners in Mariucci Arena. I kid you not.

Life is easier if you can count your failures as successes. Potato-patahto for goofer fans. :p

  7. I think it's time to establish Pay-Per-View options so that people that want to watch these games can just order them and watch them and not have to worry about all this crap. I would certainly fork over the cash to watch all the games I could in one weekend. As far as I'm concerned, "tape delay" is the same as not showing it at all. This is a live sporting event, not a Brady Bunch rerun.

Agreed! Something like the B2TV network provides...I'd buy at least four games next weekend if I could.

  8. From my vantage in section 103 it looked like 3/4ths! But now we are quibbling. The fans owned the Xcel just like the our team owned the ice. Squirt and

I had so much fun with the few remaining Gopher fans. Has someone started that topic yet? :p

Wonderful display of grit and determination by the Men in Black. Down by two, and never slowed down one iota. Great game.

    Go Sioux!

I like what I saw all weekend. 1 shutout, one take-the-lead-and-keep-it, and one come-from-behind. Against three of the top teams in the country (the second game against #1). This team is poised to win 4 more.

    GO SIOUX!!

  9. I'm happy to see we play Yale rather than Michigan. Michigan is always going to be tough. I'm surprised they matched up Miami and Michigan in the same bracket, but I'm fine with it. I like our road to the Championship this year!

I know Bemidji hasn't played well their past couple games, but I wouldn't chalk them up as losers to Michigan quite yet. That will likely be a great game to watch, as would a Bemidji = Miami rematch (if it happens).

  10. Just home from the game, great gritty win by the Sioux. They dominated play the first two periods and hung in there, kept working hard, and it paid off.

Sixty more minutes like that tomorrow night...keep the puck headed to the net!

    GO SIOUX!!

  11. Great last 40 min. by the Sioux tonight. Played with a lot of confidence once the flood gates opened.

Let's come back and get two more points tomorrow night!

    GO SIOUX!!

  12. This has happened before where it pops at the last minute...or don't you have any picture at all?

No signal at this time. Is this a 7:30 game? TH working the "pregame show"...so video may not be up for fifteen more minutes.

  13. OK, I'm getting really nervous.

I have Time Warner Cable and have the FCS channels, but for whatever reason, none of them are working.

This is EXACTLY what it says on my screen:

"Fox Sport Cen is currently unavailable

    Please try again later"

    WTF?

    Anyone else having issues?

Nothin on my FTA yet either... :-(

TH interviewing Hak right now on the audio link. No video link on FS.com...

  14. Possible we could move up as far as 3rd in the WCHA but not likely.

Losing to the bottom feeders would hurt our pairwise, so we do need to beat these guys mostly for that.

Oh yeah, foot stays on the gas all weekend, for sure.

    GO SIOUX!!

  15. I'm not so sure they will be. I don't see DU or UW losing...

Would this include them playing the Sioux?

Not that we blew out CC like we did St. Could, but I think the Sioux are playing a notch or two better than they did even a month ago against the Pio's.

I could see DU and/or UW losing to the Sioux right now.

Then again, last time I checked, I was green-blooded, so I admit to some bias up front.

It all comes down to goal scoring though. The Sioux can hold teams to two or three goals. Can they out-score that mark?

They are starting to look like they can. I like their chances.

  16. Eids given Player of the Game honor by radio guys, 27 saves for Eids tonight

Eids did have a solid weekend in the pipes, but sheesh...I'd like to see him notch a shutout here and there. Maybe next weekend? (Didn't he shutout Tech early in the year?)

Great road win for the Sioux, they certainly look to be very solid defensively. The penalty kill was great, and nice to see the pp notch goals each night too.

    GO SIOUX!!
