It seems like It's been a Wicked long time since the Sioux have hit the ice. Yous guys need to get some chattah goin' with the Crimson coming to town.
Alls I want is a sweep; could be huge in the Pairwise.

What have you all heard about a site for the Big 10 hockey tourney? I would think Joe Louis Arena would still be the favorite. Xcel woulnt seem to make since due to the fact that it's on the western edge of Big 10 territory. Surprised the X isn't a sure thing. NCHC tourney would be far more lucrative than watered down WCHA version.

I just scored some tickets for Saturday nights game and will be driving to Grand Forks Saturday. The last time I came up I stayed in East Grand and took Whiteys bus to and from the games. I heard Whiteys closed/opened. Is Whiteys open? If so, do they run a bus? If not, does anyone know of another place that runs a bus and has a hotel nearby? I prefer not having to drive if its an option.
Buffalo Wild Wings has a free bus that leaves 30 minutes before the game. Rumors is a fun time, I think you get a ticket for the bus when you buy 2 for 1 and you can have booze on the bus. BWW you cannot.

The Hunt for 'Red December' begins. Red Cows this weekend, Russian Red Stars next week, and, if you think about it, Harvard "Crimson" New Year's Weekend. Go Sioux... Finish off 2011 in style.

We have heard new jerseys won't arrive by mid February and then yesterday I read they would use existing jerseys through the regular season. So the Michigan Tech and Minnesota State series could feature the new jerseys or the last games with Sioux across their chests. A communication with concrete timelines is apparently in the works.

If I recall from last October's telecast the replay graphics are pretty cheesy...ala the floating Tiger head on CC broadcasts. Probably see a lot of empty yellow seats too. But that is my full list of complaints because hey it's televised college hockey!

You should. Its just your basic digital antenna (rabbit ears). It picks up the digital ABC, Fox, NBC, etc. Mine actually says that its an HD one and it does come in clear.
I do have access to digital channels that come in through my TV....FSSN, for example is 15.70 on my receiver. Thanks for the tip, I will try this. Any idea what channels PBS will com in on? 67.470 or 64.470 would be my first guesses. Not sure about Lake PBS in Bemidji.

I was right! Schlossman just said on the weekly chat they have the jerseys designed already and they say "North Dakota" on them
Usually I can find the weekly chat archieved but today I'm shut out. Anyone have a link to it? I know the wounds are still fresh and I know about 1.1.2015 but when does the Fighting Sioux name officially become history? After this sports season? Or is this now in the hands of the SBOHE to decide?

I know the focus is on 2011-2012 and I'm ready for the puck to drop but I have a question about 2012-2013: This article mentions that next year they Sioux go to Mariucci for one last series. Is it true that Minnesota won't be coming to Grand Forks in 2012/2013?

NBC & Notre Dame have history. Notre Dame, because of their football history, is a school with national fans. Fans that already associate NBC with Notre Dame.
Correct on that one. Versus even broadcast their Spring Football Game in April. Don't be suprised if Sunday Mass is broadcast live next along with a back to back to back "Rudy" Marathon during the off-season.

Yes, it does look like a shun job for the NCHC. When Notre Dame went to Hockey East, Versus/NBC Sports Net went with them. It figures that Denver gets a few (larger market) but I would have at least liked to see more of CC; kind of surprised that a Denver-CC Gold Pan game wasn't in the lineup. I was really hoping for more North Dakota road games, I guess.
Accordng to College Hockey News, the Feb 10th game at Duluth is on CBS College Sports, so that's one thing to look forward to.

Its not WCHA/NCHC, but there is always a silver lining and in this case that is more College Hockey on television.

Muddy Rivers sounds like a neat place; never been. I heard Whitey's is back and reopened. I loved the atmosphere the couple of times I've been been but the food wasn't so/so. I wonder if the new ownership/management will make it the place to be before games.

Hmmmm....makes me think that someone from the SS.com "art department" might be all over this. I bet it's a matter of time before we see some renditions of what the banners will look like.
1959 Sammy the Sioux would look pretty sweet, IMO.

In case this hasn't been tried...you may need to "auto program" your channels so that it reads channels above 60. On my basic cable downstairs, I needed to do this with my TV and it worked to get channels higher than 62 or 63.
Worst case scenario, Cable One does offer another cable box (non DVR) for $5.00 per month that you can add on to your current package.

Yes, I did verify from Cable One this morning. Channel 70 (not 44) is the FSSN for the upcoming season. I was worried when I saw 44 was snowy the past few weeks.

Just switched back to Cable One from Directv...is the FSSN still available on Cable One in Fargo??
Yes, it is. Channel 44 on Cable One. They also show them on Fox College Sports (a bit better quality) on the Digital Pack, Ch 306. Neither in HD through Cable One, however.

I know about the Icebreaker and tentative Winnipeg game, along with a home series vs. Harvard the last weekend of the year, but otherwise....

I wouldn't think this would affect people looking to buy Saturdays tickets.
So let me get this straight.....once you scan your Thursday tickets for Game 1, you can't re-enter for Thursday Game 2? I'm pretty clear on this one. Someone told me today for example, you cannot go to the Duluth game, then go to the Sioux party at RiverCenter and then go to game 2. That stinks, but I see why they do it.
This may be the dumbest question of the week but Saturday's ticket stands alone, right?

A quirky game to watch in person. The crowd did come to life late in the third period and OT and you had a sense the team would find one more goal. Kristo is so exciting to watch when he has the playmaker's hat on. It would have been a good character statement if they had found a way to bury one. These are the types of situations that you look back on during the course of a season and they tend to separate the good teams from the great ones.
