  1. however the sign of a good team is to pull out a win when even when the other team looks more impressive then you. cc did that.
  2. I don't have a good feeling about this weekend. CC is the No. 1 team in the country for good reason and some of our early struggles wil play into their hands. we'll need to score at least 3 goals to beat them and bachman isn't giving up 3 goals in a weekend. if DU struggled to score against them I can only imagine our problems. our pp woes could very well continue as cc has killed off something like 64 of 66 penalties so far. we will be lucky to get a point this weekend as you add our offensive woes and the fact we traditionally don't play well out there and this could be a very ugly weekend.
  3. will this be something where they call a lot of penalties early in the season and then go back to their old ways? I remeber a couple of years ago there were some new rule changes implemented and it only lasted about a month. so we'll have to wait and see.
  4. I'm cautiously optimistic about this series against the badgers. I would loved to say sweep but I think a spilt is more likely. it's just been our nature in the first half of previous seasons. I like the momentum coming out of mankato but we've struggled at home against the badgers recently and during hak's regime there have been numerous occasions in which we've come out flat and not matched the opponents intensity. hopefully that isn't the case this weekend as you know bucky will come out flying.
  5. I've watched DU play 3 times this year and they look really, really good. They are the best team to date so far I've seen. Good thing we don't play them until January as it gives us some time to get our defense and goaltending straightened out because they can bring it offensively.
  6. we're 3 for 3 on our last three pp's. let's hope that trend continues next weekend and we'll be very successful.
  7. it's odd but I have one ticket available for fri night againstt he badgers lower bowl nine rows up behind goal we shoot at twice. anyone want it pm me.
  8. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet or not but Wisconsin's Ben Street could be out 3 months or longer with a knee injury.
  9. this thread has gone down the toilet. goon said it best in his blog with the old saying "he that is without sin among you, let him cast a stone.....".
  10. I'm glad we have this weekend off it will give the guys some more time to gel together as passes were still of a bit. I am very pleased with last night if not a little surprised as third period comebacks are not common in the Hakstol regime this only being the 4th I believe. BE IMHO earned the start next friday against the badgers. this was a start in the right direction and hopefully they can build off it. it might be early to say this but the two games against the badgers are going to be huge, we can't continue are recent woes against the badgers at the ralph 0-4-1 in the last five. the old saying goes split ont he road and sweep at home. we've done the road part(WCHA play anyway) now let's work on doing the home part.
  11. WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. DUNCAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. enough of the negativity(myself included) my heart says one thing my mind says another. I'll go with my heart Sioux 4-3 BE gets his first win.
  14. how is a tax plan going to protect a business from a corporate giant?
  15. as much as I like Duncan, I think he should have gone pro. after watching him this year so far through three games plus the exhibition-his stock is going to drop off the boards. he does look slow and right now isn't bringing much to the table. I hate to admit it but after seeing him so far his success was truly a by product of being with oshie and toews. I was always hoping he could do something by himself-so far I am wrong. maybe that will change in two months. why not move him down to a second to fourth line because he is not a top line performer anymore, sadly.
  16. I can live with BE going through some ups and downs as long as he gets to be consistent. what I can't live with is no offense production from non freshman players and the defensive lapses that have led to numerous goals this season so far.
  17. Ed Schultz is a putz and forever will be. how much does his "contracting" company actually make in a year? it probably isn't doing too well to have rely on Obama's "small" business tax break.
  18. I'll add Wisconsin and Denver to that list after watching their game last night. so where will that leave us in the WCHA: cc-better than us denver-better than us msu-mankato-better than us minnesota-better than us wisconsin-better than us st. cloud-better than us. duluth-not sure but they have won a game this year tech-not sure but they have won a game this year aa-same as duluth and tech honestly INCH may very well be right and could finish 7-10.
  19. agreed. I hope I'm wrong about tonight but I think the odds are greater we get swept than we don't. there tends to be a pattern with hak's teams in the ridiculous slow starts-they tend to hit rock bottom by getting swept in series us fans think they shouldn't get swept because afterall they are the sioux. jan of 2006-get swept at home versuses st. cloud, nov and december 2006-get swept at aa,split with cc,get swept by wisc and get swept by tech both at home. heading into this season no one would have thought that we would have started out 0-4, but the possibility is very real with how this team is performing. if you can't score, defend or have a goalie that can't stop much you are not going to win very much. this year's goalie excuse-they are not getting much help-however the goalie still needs to stop something on a consistent basis and neither of these guys can do that right now. I also thought that this could be a rebuilding year and we would struggle a bit-then with duncan, kozek and finley coming back along with 5 defenseman that played a lot last year bought into the hype of this could be a good team. right now I'm totally disaapointed and coming to the realization that this will be a very, very long year-along the lines of 2001-02. it's been a fun ride the last four years-bright side is I guess I won't be needing to dish out thousands of dollars to travel to a frozen four and watch them get spanked again.
  20. 6-5 du wins. I was impressed with both teams. Du is loaded has some goaltending issues but can make up for that by scoring a ton of goals. sconnie has a young defense but they can put the puck in the net.
  21. for a defensive minded team sconnie has scored 10 goals in 2+ games and we've scored 4 in 3 for a supposedly offensive minded team.
