  1. Any contact with a potential recruit regarding the recruiting process is an NCAA violation. Sam has been doing this for years and in multiple sports. The NDSU athletic department hasn't done anything about it because the entire program has little to no regard for NCAA regulations.

    this is actually false too

once again can you give us some examples of NDSU not having any regard for NCAA regulations? Just because you say it doent make it true

  3. Wow. And he's sending tweets to players that NDSU is recruiting promoting NDSU. What a walking NCAA violation.

Someone should see how fast Gene Taylor responds to an e-mail about something like this.

lakes isnt a teammaker so that wouldnt be a recruiting violation

  4. They're as good a FCS team as any the last 20 years but let's keep this in perspective, they couldn't compete in any major FBS conference because of three things...size, speed, and most importantly depth...they would get worn down by good teams.

That doesn't take anything away from the product they are putting on the field now, it is impressive, but thinking they could play a full season in a major conference is asinine.

I saw the quote from the NDSU fan who thought it would be fun to have the two champions play at the end of the year, I bet Bohl doesn't share that thought. You think they kicked Notre Dames ass? This would be horrific.

we just beat a major conference team that made the fiesta bowl last year. im also not buying the "ksu is terrible." because they lost to ndsu. ndsu proved we are a very good team on friday. i think ksu will still make a bowl but we'll see. they returned 10 starters on offense and waters looks like he will be a good qb. an OL that is seen as top 10 in the country, one of the best RBs in the conference, one of the better WR tandems in the big 12, and one of the best special teams units in the country. the defense for them obv is another story. as for the sec comments, yeah, we would probably only beat kentucky, possibly missouri. maybe squeak out another one vs.an average tennessee team. who cares anyways. the fact is we are beating fbs schools when we get the opportunity

  5. Yes, this happens at Notre Dame, UND and other top universities. But the student athletes at these programs have to pay the consequences for an academic violation or for underage drinking. Only at the AC football program do athletes not have to pay any consequences for anything less than a rape charge.

ojuri was suspended vs Youngstown. two of our top recruits were kicked off the team. sidney haynes who was a decent fbs transfer and expected to start was kicked off before the 2010 season. andrew okland was threatened to lose his scholarship so he quit. justin howard our top WR one season was kicked off the team. same with jordan schultenover. shamen washington, jose mohler, garrett johnson have been suspended before. johnson was also kicked off. plus many more. but dont let facts get in the way Rick

  6. He's a booster. There is nothing that says he needs to remain a member of Teammakers. Schools suspend boosters all of the time for crossing the line. Look it up online. His actions regarding this are completely inappropriate as they have been in the past, yet NDSU continues to allow him access to their players and continues to allow him to be a member of their booster club.

fairly positive that lakes hasnt been a teamaker for a few years

  7. Sioux football insider tweeted that UND players (Garman and Ivery) missed the Mines game due to....skipping a class. The coaches do random class checks and they werent there. Talk about two different philosophies in Fargo and Grand Forks! Way to go Muss and staff!

    the situations are different ;)

  8. You're joking right?

Of course they knew. They were told when the were given the job. I guarantee it. There is no way they were not told that the signatures had to be verified and it was a crime to falsify any signature.

They are big boys. They are criminals, proven by their actions. They will be punished accordingly. Except by Coach Bohl. Who runs a rogue program. His inaction in this matter proves it.

it very well could be the case and i wouldnt be surprised if they didnt know. they could have been just told to get signatures and turn it in

  9. Hillary Rodham? Ya all realize it only takes one false signature to get a petition thrown out. You dont like that initiatove its real easy tto make sure its not on the ballot.

no there are false signatures on plenty of petitions. just that signature is thrown out, not the whole petition

  10. I don't think they had any idea what would happen if they did what they did. They thought it was a way to make a quick buck and went for it. I agree with Taylor on this. As if most UND hockey players would know not to fake signatures. Besides Hak would still play them and don't for a minute think he wouldn't.

i am sure they all didnt know that the signature and names had to be verified. probably didnt know that it was needed to be put on an election ballot. that being said they still committed a crime. seems like a very complicated matter. there could be many factors involved in the case. so i understand bohl wanting to play it out legally. i just hope they dont go unpunished. if something does come of it which would likely be late winter, how will they be disciplined? more conditioning? 1st game of 2013? hmmm

  11. I think North Dakota and NDSU are in about the same place as far as basketball goes. If they played 10 times, I think each team would probably win 5 games. I'll say that North Dakota was better this year given that we beat Montana, SDSU, Utah Valley, and NDSU..................all of whom are in some sort of post season tournament.

IMO, as long as both schools can remain competitive in their respective leagues, an annual North Dakota-NDSU basketball game has the potential to become the biggest sporting event in the state since we won't be playing the Gophers in hockey or the Bison in football anytime in the near future............

i can agree with that. good points

  12. my thoughts on the game:

pretty ugly game by both teams. und played a little less crappier. you guys played some solid defense on us. you took taylor braun and lawrence alexander out of their games. that is how you beat us. we wont win many games if that happens. bjorklund was the only one with a decent game for us. brekke had a hell of a game. you guys played solid defense in the lane on us. rarely gave us easy looks in the lane. i saw two young teams last night with a lot of potential. i am impressed with und's sophomore class. anderson is quick. huff has great potential, he needs to bulk up a bit but he seemed to play too much one on one in my opinion. he will probably get better as he matures and gets better. webb had a quiet game but i know hes had good games before. will be interesting to see how you guys do in the big sky next season as your team matures and progresses. if you guys can get a more consistent inside presence and shoot a little better you could very well compete for the big sky title in two seasons. i would not be shocked to see both teams in the dance in two seasons.

  13. I certainly don't blame Mollberg for his interest in Iowa. However, it puts the UND coaching staff in a tough position. Do you continue recruiting other QBs who were high on your list of prospects? These QBs have other programs interested in them. How do we entice them to remain interested in us when they know an offer may be contingent on Mollberg being offered by the Hawkeyes.

Not a complaint - I am happy as heck that we have a tentative commitment. I sure hope it materializes.

i thought i read on the UNI board that Iowa already got their first option at QB. I could be wrong though. I wonder if he would take a walk on offer? Not sure.
