  1. Horner couldn't beat out Solum in high school. Apparently he didn't think there was any point potentially subjecting himself to the same thing in college. In all seriousness, I would have liked to have gotten him, but really never expected to.

Horner has to compete with Pat Paschall, Pete Blincoe, DJ McNorton, and Matt Voigtlander so i just refuted your argument

  2. Ok, you and ndsubison1 are correct. Dale Lennon and his staff have absolutely no idea what they are doing and are completely missing the boat by even thinking about recruiting Montana. Their overall philosophies in regards to recruiting are completely killing them right now.

Now can the both of you please stop arguing this point? It is absolutely painful to read.

You guys obviously dont get it. Teams dont do this for every recruit, but common football knowledge and logic would tell you that. Yes, I am sure NDSU and even UND for that matter would go out of their way to steal a recruit from some rival or someone, even if the recruit isn't part of their top priorities. NDSU recruits some ND ppl, so UND and SDSU dont get them. MSU and Montana recruit Montana kids so the other doesnt get them. I am sure the Montana schools go into Idaho just so they dont get a certain player. This is called recruiting...

  3. Maybe I have this all bass ackwards...but I see Coach Lennon recruiting the best athletes he can for UND rather than recruiting to hinder the competition.

Are you telling me that NDSU recruits from South Dakota purely to prevent them from becoming Jackrabbits? Let's say that NDSU has 4 stellar punters on the roster ranging from redshirt freshman to junior. Would they recruit another punter from South Dakota just so the Jackrabbits couldn't recruit him?

No one would have 4 punters on their roster anyways...

  4. Mplsbison,

By far, the dumbest post I have seen from you. You are better than this logic you just tried using.

Mplsbison is right on, maybe you shouldn't be posting here siouxperstitous then if you know nothing about recruiting.

  5. You mean the Sioux-SUU game (where the Sioux had like 5 turnovers) or the NDSU-SUU game?

    NDSU +35 over SUU - 3 pts for homefield = + 32 pt advantage

    UND + 27 over SUU + 3 pts for away game= + 30 pt advantage

Comparative score: NDSU by +2 on a neutral field.

    Keep your hopes up!

  6. Exactly--never. Just like NDSU!! If you think there were 30,000 Bison fans at the Dome, you are also the one who is telling his buddies the final score was 40-0!!

There were an estimated 30, 000 Bison fans. Sorry UND cant get 30,000 total for hockey and football... And yeah I'm done with this pissy fight, I have better things to do.

  7. We will see. How many people were traveling with the Bison in 2003? Other than parents, none. How many people will travel out to Cal Poly to see that game? Not many. It was because you played Minnesota in a novelty game in your 4th year of transition. We have 4 years to get to that level.

And after the NCAA and UND come to an agreement on the name issue, we will be playing Minnesota or Wisconsin 3-4 years from now!

I was talking about UND Hockey not football smart guy.

  8. UND puts a lot more butts in the seats for hockey every year than NDSU does for football at the Fargodome. I beleive the average ticket price for hockey is a lot higher than the average ticket price for a football game at NDSU. Therefore revenues are higher. Did you misspeak and mean UND when you talked about attendance/revenue and said NDSU by mistake.

NDSU has a higher average. NDSU football doesn't play 30 games a season and ticket sales aren't everything when it comes to revenue. Also, when has UND taken 30,000 fans to an away game or home game for that matter? Never.

  9. football is football and hockey is hockey. d-1 hockey and d-1aa football get the same exposure, both playoffs are played on espn 2 and both get same exposure from the media. 1-AA games are played on espn U/game plan every week where hockey is only on espn when the frozen four comes around. But 1-AA football gets more exposure nationally then D-1 hockey, but I would say UND Hockey is more well known nationally then NDSU football, but it is vastly changing. But I would make the argument NDSU football is bigger in ND. Just look at attendance/revenue.

  10. Basically it boils down to this.....(and this isn't an excuse, I HATE the football team)

The BEST TEAM IN NDSU HISTORY (and they'll probably not see a team like this for another 10-15 years after the coaching staff is picked apart and recruiting takes a step backwards) beat THE WORST TEAM IN UMN HISTORY. You take a BAD defense, then take away their three best players (read sexual assult before the season and Brewster doing the only acceptable thing and cutting the players immediately), and you get a group of 11 players that have absolutely no business being on a Big Ten field.

Have a good playoff run Bison......oh wait........

Although this is a horrendous Gopher team, the 1983 Gopher team was never once in a game and gave up plenty more points.

  11. Something about a chick making nice calms me...even if she has horns! :) I really CAN'T believe I'm saying this but congrats to the bison. Anything that puts ND over the goofs and potentially gives SidH a stroke is okay with me and best of luck! I'm sure you'll go far in the playoffs.......OOOPS*! :silly: - my bad!

    (okay - seriously congrats!)

I'm sure UND will go far too in their playoffs...

Also, well idk if you could compare this with unds win over SUU. SUU isnt in a FCS power conference. The Goophs are still inb the Big Ten.

  12. The Cow College down South is THE enemy, always has been and always will be even if we don't play them in football for another 50 years!

The Gophers have never been our enemy in football. How quickly some of you forget what a true rivalry is, and how much scorn and ridicule the SU faithful heaped on the Sioux football program for so many years, maybe some of you are too young too remember.

I'd rather root for Taliban U than those arrogant SOBs from Fargo.

So if you choose to cheer for the Bison Saturday you can then call yourself a sort of Sioux fan, or a sometimes Sioux fan, or a when it's convenient Sioux fan, but a tried and true bleeds kelly green Sioux fan you can never be.

    Here endeth the lesson.

you know who else is a cow college? u of m, nebraska, florida, illinois... keep talking...

  13. NDSU would beat UND. Want to know why?

    UND 38 Minnesota St.-Mankato 34

    NDSU 44 Central Michigan 14

Also, we don't care about the Nickel Trophy now... that was what 5 years ago? Because we got the Dakota Marker.

  14. So, using Bison logic, just because NDSU has been successful in their transition, that means that UND won't be successful. Is that about right? :)

:) I never said you won't be successful. The transition isn't easy. What I said is pretty clear-cut.

  15. That's your opinion and you're entitled to it. My opinion is that NDSU fans are mistaken in thinking that their program accomplished something special that isn't easily attainable by another program making the same move who was better than they were for the last decade that they both spent at the D2 level. If a good D2 can do it a great D2 should be able to do it too. That's my opinion, and I believe that Bison fans are fooling themselves to dismiss that theory.

That's pretty ignorant of you, you are obviously wrong. ever heard of Northern Colorado?

Also, let's not compare apples to oranges here, just because NDSU has been successful at 1-AA doesn't mean UND will...

  16. Maybe, maybe not. Depends upon which UND team shows up and which NDSU team shows up.

If the NDSU team that showed up against Sam Houston State shows up, I think UND wins. If the NDSU team that played Central Michigan shows up, then NDSU might win. UND hasn't lost this year, but at times sure looked like they were playing like they wanted to.

However, the bad natured smack is the only thing I don't miss about the NDSU/UND rivalry. Brings out the classlessness all around. Then again, I don't know what goes on at the Bison board, but I certainly have plenty to justify this feeling reading this board's Bison contingent.

Wow, that is pathetic! LOL. NDSU would beat UND this year, by at least 2 tds or maybe even more. Last time I checked UND doesn't have Rhett Bomar. And if the NDSU team that beat CMU showed up to play UND, NDSU might win??? HAHA, wow... if that NDSU team showed up against UND it would be 66-7. I hate these comparisons but there's always a few ignorant UND fans who always bloviate...

  17. When is the game ?

    Is it on TV ?

If the Goophs will play NDSU how come NDSU won't play us ?

Game is Oct. 20 - game time is still TBA

    Game will be on FSN

Glen Mason wanted to play NDSU, but NDSU had a 2 game deal with them and now that TIm Brewster is their coach this is the last year the Goophs will be playing NDSU for awhile. Also, NDSU didn't want to play any D11 teams and plus, why play UND when you guys wouldn't play us at the start of our transition?
