  1. Exactly. Boise's a great city...but it ain't Seattle.
  2. Once upon a time...in a galaxy far far away, being head football coach at Wisconsin was considered a sucky job...
  3. And I didn't ever see Texas A&M leaving the Big 12 either...or Nebraska or Missouri too.
  4. Alabama and Oregon don't hire coaches from Coastal Carolina or Minnesota-Duluth. Wyoming is a stepping stone to even bigger things down the road if all goes well for Bohl.
  5. Wouldn't it be kind of amusing if Sam Houston's Willie Fritz is the actual coach-to-be?
  6. A lateral move? War Memorial Stadium seats almost 30,000 fans and Wyoming is an FBS program. Bohl could have stayed in Fargo forever or move on up to the next challenge. It appears he is ready for something else.
  7. Congratulations to Alabama-Huntsville on its first win of the season. Hopefully there are more to come.
  8. The Friars score 3 in the third period and tie Northeastern 3-3. Nice comeback.
  9. I can't ignore the elephant in the room anymore - it's obvious that Enrico Blasi needs to be fired.
  10. Харакава женат бедных слоев населения That's how you say 'piss poor' in Russian. 'Piss poor' would also define Commodore's whining about his treatment by Babcock.
  11. Appalachian State's throwback logo...some logos need to be kept in the past - that's one of them. While that might be the worst "update" of 2013, I still contend that THIS was the greatest logo-change travesty of all-time: http://www.lighthousehockey.com/2013/9/7/4703218/nhl-bad-jerseys-buffalo-sabres-islanders-fisherman
  12. I have good news and bad news. The good news is...I received a box of non-moniker hats last night via UPS. The bad news is...11 of the 21 hats should have stayed in Fargo or been shipped to Grand Forks. Coaches Choice has offered to pay for shipping back to Fargo and then ship hats to GF from there and leave the others for pick-up, but I'm thinking that may be more trouble than its worth. Gotta mull this one over...
  13. Adding extra letters can happen on tiny keyboards...but the spelling of 'hypocrisy' was what really made me gasp.
  14. Municipal court records for Grand Forks County don't appear to be available online. Add in the fact that "William" goes by "Ashley" and you have two ways that this evaded being detected. Again, intentional or unintentional, but I'm not sure the GF Herald or local news media can be faulted for not catching this.
  15. Oh really? http://www.valleynewslive.com/story/19572447/und-hockey-captains-suspended A one-game suspension for that? http://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2008/01/02_oshie.php And a one-game suspension for a second-offense? http://news.yahoo.com/10-ndsu-players-plead-guilty-petition-fraud-154005626--spt.html NDSU's got their own issues too.
  16. I agree with all of those points. It doesn't help when Ashley isn't the coach's real first name - that's an interesting way of masking things, intentional or not.
  17. I just about spit Mountain Dew all over my computer monitor after reading that. Great comment - made me laugh out loud. I get what you're saying but would counter that UND treats men's hockey in the same that NDSU treats football.
  18. The point the previous poster was making with Hardee's DWI is that it happened in the off-season and therefore there was no obligation for the AD to report it. I realize I'm a heretic for sticking up for NDSU when one of their own assistant coaches, the son of the former long-time head wrestling coach, no less, in a similar incident, did announce the suspension. UND fans can't have it both ways - they want the hammer put down on NDSU coaches for unpaid parking tickets just because it's NDSU but will defend UND at all costs. Don't believe me? Go re-read some of the Joe Finley/Matt Frattin/TJ Oshie/Danny Kristo 'boys will be boys' threads from years gone by in the hockey forum.
  19. Bret Maughan's incident happened on July 14, 2011. His 5-day suspension was announced on August 25, 2011. That's also off-season. Just sayin'... http://www.wdaz.com/event/article/id/10241/
  20. What an absolute shame that nobody thought of having the coach pull the vehicle over. Thank God nobody got hurt - in the player/coach vehicle or another vehicle.
  21. Sure does. Resigning shouldn't have even been a choice in this instance, in my humblest of opinions.
  22. I don't believe for a minute that the 20something kid at the counter renting me a car has access to run DMV records from every state in the country, not to mention browse around and check and see what the driving record of his buddies and co-workers look like. There is no national database tied to your social security number or any other number where your entire driving history can be found.
  23. When is the last time you purchased or rented a car? No dealer or rental outfit has access to your state driving record.
  24. Why was Hardee's contract not amended after the first incident to include some sort of clause to prevent a second one. Hardee actually did UND a favor by resigning. Had he been outright fired, UND would be stuck paying his buyout. I'm also pretty sure a 20 minute trip by Hardee to the DMV for a certified copy of his own driving record showing proof of reinstatement of his driver's license would have been acceptable enough for Faison as evidence that the DL had been reinstated by the state of ND. Talk about dropping the ball on that one...
