  1. we haven't had one for quite some time. nothing will change now
  2. Look for some breaking news on Buning here in the very near future.
  3. Is Red Pepper still offering their Grinder kits over night via FedEx? I am about ready to explode after reading all of this about grinders. I need my fix!
  4. In the spirit of it being Friday and I am starving, lets talk about Grand Forks' finest cuisine, the Red Pepper. What is everyone's "go to" meal at the Red Pepper? Mine is: half ham grinder with taco meat (just a shot of white sauce)(heated up) 2 beef & cheese tostadas soft shell Schneider Tall glass of 2% I am hungry!
  5. I am of the opinion that Rob Bollinger would be the perfect man for the job as UND's next athletic director. I have had the privilege to work with Rob before on several occasions. He will bring to the position a combination that I believe only he possesses; instant credibility, extensive knowledge and appreciation of the University of North Dakota, an amazing vision for the future, hard work ethic, and instant respect from the alumni, donors, Grand Forks community, coaches, and athletic department staff. I am hard pressed to find another candidate that possesses even half of these attributes. Without question the athletic department is in tough shape right now. Staff morale is extremely low. Coaches are frustrated with current leadership. Division I is on the horizon. Now is not the time to be reaching these lows. UND needs someone that can right the ship. UND needs someone that can lead us into Division I. That person is Rob Bollinger!
  6. I'll take the unders on that one.
  7. There was nothing that said they couldn't go to the 2nd most voted for choice if they felt the Force would create waves. But maybe they wanted to create waves. What is interesting is that the UP Center's General Manager and Director of Marketing used to work for REA. They were well aware of the "Force of the North" There probably won't be a fight from UND's camp as their Director of Marketing resigned last summer and they have yet to hire someone. plus, i think they have enough on their hands as is.
  8. Jacobs argued his point all wrong. What does NDSU have to do with any of this? That being said, it is pretty low that the fargo force went with that name after all of the hype and publicity the "Force of the North" has received the past couple years. New nickname or not, UND coined this phrase for its marketing efforts. For someone to draw attention away for the UND Marketing staff's hard work is unprofessional. I guess it doesn't matter. The last two USHL teams folded in Fargo, why would this one be any different? You can't compete against youth hockey, high school hockey and UND hockey. That is why the USHL flourishes in non-hockey markets like Iowa and Nebraska and folds in hockey markets like Minnesota and North Dakota.
  9. The nickname is costing the institution money in both the lawsuit (donated money that may have been donated elsewhere w/o the lawsuit) and potential revenue in game guarantees. The nickname debate will never go away. The problems associated with it will keep growing. As much as I would like to remain the Fighting Sioux, it may be time to look at a change.
  10. I know for a fact that without Dan Martinsen in that department, the wheels would have fallen off a long time ago. In a time where leadership and direction was non-existent, he came in and provided as much as he could, knowing full well that he doesn't know everything there is to know about athletic management. In my opinion, Dan is one of the best things to happen to UND Athletics in the last few years from a management stand point. He provides resources and credibility to a department that is not well thought of right now by its supporters. I hope that Dan will stick around for a long time after this mess but I would be surprised if that was the case as he misses his grandchildren and his ranch back in the upper northwest.
  11. The animals don't have guns to shoot back with? Come on. That is the worst argument I have heard on the hunting topic. Do I need to explain to you the order of the food chain?
  12. Someone needs to tell Michael Moore the same thing. Except he is not very entertaining; just fat.
  13. Harmenson needs to clean this up. This has not blown over, it has just been stabilized.
  14. I love how you are using Ted Nugent as your poster child...He just screams credibility.
  15. Can you hear it? The calm before the storm.
  16. I could have sworn you said you were done with this thread, TWICE! You are not being forced to move out of your place. You would be forced to store your gun in another location. Completely different circumstances. Why don't I move out of the US if I don't like guns? Well, you claim the 2nd Amendment for your argument, I will go ahead and claim the 1st Amendment. And by the way, if you are going to post something about this topic, make it interesting, insightful and/or funny and please refrain from responses that sound elementary, such as "I know you are but what am I?" If you need an example of such please reference your last post.
  17. Of course cotton. It comes from a living being as well. Let's not make this a PETA thread.
  18. Some startling facts about guns in the home... University of Michigan Medical Study AMERICAN ACADEMY OF PEDIATRICS
  19. Yeah, and what if our enrollment drops to 3,000 and we start to call ourselves the Beavers? The conversation is about UND, where you can live off campus.
  20. Are you really done this time? Now you are comparing a car to a gun. This gets better and better with every post. Correct me if I am wrong but living in student housing is a choice made by you. If you do not like the rules of that establishment, then find another place to live. That simple.
  21. When I got done reading this, it seemed to me the author was saying the police force is totally incapable of protecting the people in it's jurisdiction. To combat that "fact" you must arm yourself and be ready to shoot someone if they start to pose a threat. I don't think our law enforcement system is that broken that everyone should go out to wal-mart and purchase their own hand gun. Is this an article by someone employed by the Sentinel or is this a letter to the editor?
