You are right, UND calls the NCAA and see if they can keep the trophy or use it. Its the only two options.

Trophies get retired all the time. Our Sitting Bull trophy with South Dakota has been retired for quite sometime, and they didn't bitch about it when we moved to the Great West, or last season when we played them. I am sure a new trophy will be thought of before 2020. Doesn't matter anyways its not like you are going to be in possession of that one either.

Or how about in the Alerus Center, along with the Sitting Bull Trophy and the 2001 NCAA National Title trophy. Alerus is the home of UND football, lets see more than just banners from the ceiling. Lets see the hardware.

So when 2020 comes around and we play NDSU every year do we get a new trophy to play for or brush the dust off of the nickel? I know it's got an Indian side of it but it is a "historical" coin.

Summit League basketball has 8 teams in their tournament. So all but the last two teams starting next year makes it.

We stay Big Sky for football in 2018 and 19 but won't be eleigible for the Big Sky title but still can get a playoff birth.

That's how I read it. We are full members with all the benefits in the Summit in 2018, but cannot win the Big Sky Conference in 2018 and 2019.

So moving to the Summit League is just like the Big Sky except tougher opponents, and no mountains.

He's mad the eastern teams will have an easier road to the playoffs while the western teams will beat each other up. We have seen that in the NCC where only one or two teams from the conference made the playoffs. Like I said play better football and win in the playoffs. So nice they see us as a tough team and a threat.

Its not like UNI has a lot of hardware before and after the Dakota schools moved in. They have played in one National title game (lost) then the next season lose to DII UND. UNI will just have to play better football, oh and win in the playoffs.

It's a riot over there. USD fans are glad we are joining, usual response from Bison and Jacks fans, but Clenz from UNI is a total head case. I wonder if he still has flashbacks from UND's piss pounding of UNI in 2006 in their UNI Dome.

Both conferences have teams no one cares. Idaho State =IUPUI, Sac St = Western Illinois. For football it was the Montana's and EWU, and in basketball it was Weber and the Montana's that people cared the most about. I can't wait to see another double OT thriller against USD, or a blowout basketball win in Fargo. Add UNI in the mix along with a SL tournament just down the interstate, and it could create more excitement.
