Bruess is who I was talking about and I agree with Backes I thought he looked good when I was watching the Blues this year.

I think the new CBA hurt initially but now it's gonna start to even things out, obviously the top players will go...Toews, Osh the guys who step onto the roster right away like you're saying goon and now that a high pick like Chorney had to dwell in the minors and provide some insight I think most things will turn back to normal as far as early departures. That guy for Mankato though what a mistake he made leaving early.

Luke Johnson who just finished his freshman year at Red River was drafted in the 5th round of the WHL's draft #97 overall to Medicine Hat. Hope his dad steers him the right way to come to UND!

I was kinda wondering about this when the game was scheduled.

His biggest blunder this year was the goaltending situation at the WJC and I liked how he switched the goalies at the U-18's..Probably brought the gold medal home with that decision.

Yes that line played well and Malone showed great flashes of talent at the end of last year but Vandevelde will be the first line center this year and I think we might need someone with more scoring touch to play the wing instead of Malone, hopefully he can put up lots of points this year. I'd like a Vande, Gregoire, Frattin line and I also like the idea of Kristo and Cichy playing together..Kristo's speed opening up space for Cichy to put in the goals.

Montreal had too many off ice problems this year that they never really righted the ship as much as the fans would've liked in their 100th year. San Jose always seems to choke when playoffs come and they're showing it again this year. Washington might end up coming back from a 3-1 hole if they play again on tuesday like they did today they'll beat the Rangers at home. I agree with the three teams who we're overmatched they never really had a shot, out played each game. I hate to say it but at the moment the Bruins look like the most complete team.

Saw Jake Plutowski led the Chicago Showcase in scoring, good to see a Central boy do good against stiff competition. Team North Dakota went 3-1 in the tournament but did not advance to the championship round. Team Minnesota beat Team Michigan in overtime to win the title. Don't know about his future plans but just thought it was interesting enough to post.

I was just more getting at that he'll develop better here under our coaches guidance and being a first line center and a captain then he would if he were to play in Springfield. EDIT: And there's no coach in Edmonton at the moment so who knows where that team is headed.

Or maybe the fact that Springfield was awful last year and they don't want him to develop there. Debate how much you want but either Vandevelde or Nash is the top center prospect that the Oilers have IMO.

I agree with you here that lapoint and marto's freshman woes carried over somewhat to the beginning of this year but by the time that the team started to get hot both these players were key to that. They should both some in and be able to be very good players next year. Nick Mattson will not be a whipping boy, from what I've seen watching them play him and Forbort are two VERY good hockey players and are big but do have offensive talent, they'll be a nice duo coming in together.
