Moorhead celebrated 50 years of hockey this weekend. Former players Jason Blake & Brian Lee were recognized, along with the other Spuds who played in the NHL.

After OD's hat trick, I went to the Sioux Shop to get 33% off a new hat. Went to check out and was told the NCAA made them stop that promotion. Apparently it promotes an individual player, which is against their rules.

Sounds like Chyzyk will play tonight and I'll guess Panz plays over Mattson. Both Chyzyk and Panz can play on the PK and if history says anything about this series being played in Denver, the Pios will be on the PP a bunch.
I have a hunch Mattson will be given the opportunity, and will make the most of it.

I was told they could only be picked up at the Ralph or Scheels Arena, and that they'd let me know when they could be picked up.
Has anybody heard from the ticket office about West Regional tickets? Wondering if they can be picked up yet.

Another positive from the weekend. 5 for 8 on the power play, and 9 for 9 on the penalty kill. (And yes, I realize LSSU doesn't have very impressive special teams numbers, but these are great numbers for UND.)

Heard Kevin Gorg on KFAN yesterday. He said something along the lines of "Minnesota will have no problem with Michigan State this weekend" and alluded to an expected blowout.

I know Bemidji is kind of a rival and all but they are 4-10 while Lake State is 3-13 playing in the same conference and we all know how that first Bemidji game went. Air Force is 5-8-2 and we know how that went. I don't think these are games you can just sleepwalk through as we've learned earlier in the year.
Bemidji has played the 4th toughest schedule in the nation.

It is. But without it I'm sure bids would be 19.5% higher. I don't get how they can run an auction like this, announce a deadline, then extend it to make more money.

Great post, great question at the end. I've wondered the same. To me it's probably coming in the next 3-4 years.
Hypothetically, let's say Hakstol's team made it to the championship game every year for the next 4 years, but lost the final game each of those years. Would you say it's time for him to go?
My opinion is that it's ridiculous for fans to expect national titles in a one-and-done playoff format. This is hockey. There's a reason the NHL plays 7-game series to determine the best team in each round. Does anybody believe the NCAA championship winners would have looked the same over the past 10 years if a 3 or 5 or 7 game series were used to determine the winner each round?
Personally, I'd like to take my chances with a guy who has proven he'll have our team in the hunt pretty much every year. As long as that continues to be the case, I'd let him have the job for as long as he wants it, and I'd also be willing to bet he'll win one or two (maybe more) before all is said and done.

At least it appears fans won't have to worry about not making the Fargo regional.
As much as I have confidence in UND making the NCAA tournament, they are in no way a lock at this point. All it would take is a loss against LSSU along with a mediocre performance the rest of the way to make them a bubble team. That Bemidji loss really hurt. I'd be curious to know where we'd be in the PWR if we'd have won that game.

Apparently a couple voters are still impressed with UMTC despite a 1-3 record in their last 4 games (not to mention an exhibition loss).
