  1. Regarding Quinnipiac, I've been telling my buddies for a few months, don't underestimate the value of having 11 seniors on your roster. No matter which conference you play in, that's a huge factor.

  2. He wore 8. There were the normal white, green, and black dazzles (counting both seasons, that's 6). Then they wore that green Nike throwback for the Hall of Fame game on October 4, 2003, and then the Military Night (replica style with patches) against the US U-18 Team on December 5, 2003. So, two of those are one-game-wonders.

When you going to let me post your collection?? :) fargosioux has one of the nicest game-worn collections out there.

I have some long overdue updates to my site that I need to do, but I'll be in touch.

  3. I agree. I'd even say 12k is on the low side. Toews' Blackhawks gamers go for 4-5k typically and those are a dime a dozen. There are only 7 game-worn Toews Sioux jerseys...one of which he only wore one game. Then, I believe he has one in his own "collection" which leaves 5 true Toews gamers on the market. In one single 82 game season in the NHL (not even counting playoffs where they get even more new jerseys) he'll wear 6 sweaters alone (and that doesn't count any alternates).

Big, how many Parise shirts were ever released to the market? Did he wear 3 each year he was there?

  4. He had a few good games in a row but other than that was basically a below average player in Und history especially as far as second line players go

Not sure I'd agree with this. He averaged 30 points his last 2 seasons as a second line player. I don't think you can expect a whole lot more than that from a second liner.

  5. If Kristo hits 60 pts after this regional I like his chances.

That would be 9 points in 2 games. If he does that, I think we're all going to be pretty happy on Saturday night.

  6. I agree with Wodon's projections on CHN, except I see them keeping UND/Denver in the 8/9 match-up in Providence (as opposed to swapping Denver with Niagara). The rules allow them to keep a first-round conference match-up if the conference has 5 teams in the tournament, and this year we have 6. That being said, I think this is what we'll find out at 8:00 pm tonight:

Providence: 1. Quinnipiac vs. 16. Canisius / 8. North Dakota vs. 9. Denver

Grand Rapids: 2. Minnesota vs. 15. Yale / 6. Boston College vs. 11. Minnesota State

    Manchester: 3. Mass.-Lowell vs. 14. Wisconsin / 7. New Hampshire vs. 10. Niagara

Toledo: 4. Notre Dame vs. 13. St. Cloud State / 5. Miami vs. 12. Union

  7. I get what you're saying I was more looking at straight bracket integrity instead but yeah I wouldn't be suprised at all to see BC end up in Providence.

Straight bracket integrity would have Western Michigan and Union swapped in your scenario.

  8. Here is a scenario I ran in the pairwise predictor that I would like to see if they kept bracket integrity with the matchups.

    Atlantic Hockey

    Semifinal #2: Connecticut defeats Mercyhurst

    Semifinal #1: Niagara defeats Canisius

    Championship game: Niagara defeats Connecticut

    CCHA

Semifinal #2: Notre Dame defeats Ohio State

    Semifinal #1: Miami defeats Michigan

Championship game: Miami defeats Notre Dame

    ECAC

    Semifinal #2: Yale defeats Union

    Semifinal #1: Quinnipiac defeats Brown

    Championship game: Quinnipiac defeats Yale

    Consolation game: Union defeats Brown

    Hockey East

Semifinal #2: Boston College defeats Boston University

    Semifinal #1: Massachusetts-Lowell defeats Providence

Championship game: Massachusetts-Lowell defeats Boston College

    WCHA

Semifinal #2: Colorado College defeats Minnesota

Semifinal #1: Wisconsin defeats St. Cloud State

Championship game: Colorado College defeats Wisconsin Also works with Minnesota beating CC and Wisconsin.

    Leaves you with

    1.Quinnipiac 2.Minnesota 3.Mass-Lowell 4.Miami 5.Boston College 6.Niagra 7.Yale 8.North Dakota 9.New Hampshire 10. Mankato 11.Denver 12.St.Cloud 13.Western Michigan 14.Notre Dame 15.Union 21.Auto-Bid Colorado College

    Manchester

    1.Quinnipiac vs 16.Colorado College

    8.North Dakota vs. 9.New Hampshire

    Grand Rapids

    2.Minnesota vs. 13.Western Michigan

    7.Yale vs. 10.Mankato

    Providence

    3.Mass-Lowell vs. 14.Notre Dame

    6.Niagra vs. 11.Denver

    Toledo

    4.Miami vs. 15.Union

    7.Yale vs. 10.Mankato

Tough draw for Yale and Mankato, being forced to play in two regionals. ;)

  9. Problem with your Duluth/Denver theory is both of those teams was built around solid goal tending, something this team is not getting at this point in the season.

Reiter was an OK goalie who got hot at the end of the season in 2011. He didn't exactly blow the record books away that season. As a matter of fact, Saunders numbers this season are slightly better than Reiter's were that season.

  10. That jerk coach of theirs knew something we didn't....

I don't see a similar fate for this years squad. I think getting sent out east may be a pipe dream. Like the pipe dream that gopher fan had last night of winning that fight against the Sioux fan......Someone got blood on his Minnesota jersey.... :silly:

The similarities to the 2011 Duluth team are very close. I said in the Bracketology thread that I believe we'll end up in Grand Rapids with Minnesota, and I still think that's a strong possibility. But the loss last night could help us land in the Providence regional with two ECAC teams, just like Duluth did in 2011.
