  1. As reported in the Fargo Forum today 72738 ND residents are unemployed as of April 24. That puts the unemployment rate in ND around 18%. That % number of residents in the workforce that are currently out of work is 2 more than total deaths (16). At the same time Doug continually needs more tests done daily so he can keep moving the needle in the "positives" category upward and he can continue to justify his Bill Gates everything revolves around IT data mindset and hit the two more weeks reset button again and again and again. 0.0024% of the state's population has died from COVID while roughly 18% of its workforce is now unemployed. Again some perspective 50 obituaries in the Fargo Forum just yesterday and today. Meanwhile there was a local news piece yesterday of a single mother of two who lost her job. Kids are 12 and 6. Family is now homeless. Can't afford to pay rent or buy food and are currently staying in a local homeless shelter. But can we please keep parroting "stop the spread....flatten the curve....save lives"....blah blah blah.
  2. 57 year old male in Fargo dies suddenly last week. Not COVID related. Family owned restaurant chef/owner. Family closes restaurant permanently shortly after his death and is selling what they can from the restaurant itself. Sad situation but in reality no one is guaranteed tomorrow. Not Sally or Bob mentioned above. BTW 18 obituaries in Fargo Forum today. ND has 16 COVID deaths total. 26M+ unemployed over past few weeks. Did all retain health insurance? Obviously not. Are most of those 26M+ at a low mortality risk of COVID. My money is on yes. Again when does the big picture and logical risk take over so we can move forward? The Draconian measures in MN don't seem to be protecting those the measures were supposed to protect....those who are elderly and vulnerable. 23 new reported deaths in MN with all but one not from a long term care facility.
  3. ND most tests in a day. 1901 tests.....56 positives. 1 death. Doug just punched the reset again. #2moreweeks
  4. As a Packer fan I'm disappointed in this draft. They desperately need a quality #2 WR. Defensively...draft anyone that can tackle to help stop the run. QB and RB IMO were this team's least pressing needs prior to the draft.
  5. We'll let jdub answer that question.....
  6. On a positive note...... Miami, FL has reported its first 7 week timeframe ending 4/12 without a single murder since 1957.
  7. Per the NYPD the murder rate in NYC over past 4 weeks is up 55% compared to same time from from last year. 28 murders vs 18.
  8. An estimated 40000 hit Newport Beach in Orange County yesterday.
  9. Salisbury, MA, which is a waterfront beach town, is refusing to turn on water service for around 300 seasonal homes. I assume this is in an effort to "save lives". I also assume these homeowners property taxes are also being suspended during this time.
  10. Just a FYI for you....Pennsylvania DOH just removed 200 "probable" COVID deaths from it's total. Sorry for your loss.
  11. Who's shocked by that? Same parents that would prefer to claim unemployment and have lockdown go until their kids graduate HS.
  12. 1119 tests....most in single day for ND. 39 positives.
  13. Building a hotel empire >>> planning community picnics
  14. The free school lunch line at Centennial Elementary School is already stretched out about block north of 40th Ave. I'd guess 40-45 vehicles in line.
  15. Again per the CDC 28 coronavirus deaths nationwide 24 years of age and younger thru April 18.............so no there won't be school or sports this fall. Higher risk of death by choking on a grape or hot dog. There will be exponentially more deaths in that age bracket from suicides, alcohol and drugs moving forward.
  16. 1) Not often but have capabilities to deal with any urgent care issue that pops up even in this environment. 2) Definitely a negative factor for many patients that have had appointments or procedures pushed back and delayed. Specialties vary though on urgent or emergency needed care....ENT is different than Derm which is different than Rheumatology which is different then Neurology......... Care needed for sudden loss of vision is different than a 3 month skin check with a history of skin cancer which is different from an increase in migrainous events over the past 2 months.
  17. What I heard might be a little lite........
  18. As someone posted yesterday 70% of all MN deaths are those who Walz's extreme measures were supposed to help protect.....the vulnerable in assisted living facilities and and nursing homes. ......but close down schools for the year and frankly I'd be surprised if he allows MN K-12 schools to open in the fall.
  19. Cancel Thanksgiving
  20. He was disappointed in both. Your increase in sample size will result in increase positives even with a positive rate that's been fairly consistent day to day in ND.
  21. In ND....32 positive cases today. One death. If we have 33 cases tomorrow do we reset the "2 weeks"? Bigger question.....will Doug find these numbers "disappointing"?
  22. So we are learning that the infectious rate is 50-85x higher than advertised.........
  23. I get the "criteria" but ND has had 2 days of 50 or more positive tests. Are we ramping up testing of asymptomatic people just to move the needle up....and continually add "2 more weeks"?
  24. No wonder Doug found Tuesday's numbers "disappointing".
