    Spirko

I agree with you, that he came across as a loyal Sioux fan, but it is still hard to know for sure how reliable his source was being it was only his first post. If the Spirko rumor proves to be true, then he will have proven that his source is reliable.

If someone posts in their very first post important news about a player leaving, it is hard to know if they are a reliable source of information, or just a troll looking for bait. If someone that has an established record of reliable posts makes the same claim, it is easier to trust that info because they have proven to be trust-worthy in the past.

Are you stalking me on USCHO? Run-on sentences are fine. So is being a newbie. Being fishy is fine as well, as long as you don't smell like fish. The reason why I would believe Wilbur's source is because he has been correct in the past. I haven't seen enough posts from you here to know whether or not your source is correct or not. I am not best friends with Wilbur, but I have met him and played hockey with him in the past, so I know that I can trust him. I am not an English teacher. It does indeed look like your information might be accurate, and that will be a huge blow to the Sioux for next season if it ends up being true. I wonder if Forney will come in for sure now....

That is an unbelievable run-on sentence! Congrats! Are you and 8WBGR8 best friends?
  6. Haven't seen it posted here, but Mike Prpich picked up his first professional point the other night for the Iowa Stars, getting an assist on a Chris Conner (MTU) goal.
  7. How many brothers does Travis have?? Could we possibly see a steady pipeline of players coming from the Zajac family?
  8. I'm not one to pin all the blame for losses on one particular player. I'll admit that Parise had an off-game in the BC/UND game, but there were other factors that contributed to the 6 goals allowed. That's hockey. I'll also say that Briggs had an off-game in the HC/UMN game. The tying goal, and the overtime winner, were both goals that shouldn't have gone in. But I would also fault the defense on the tying goal. Half the team just sat up when the puck was just sitting in the crease. Again, there were other factors other than just Briggs. That's hockey. And for as far as other Sioux fans admitting that Parise had a bad game? There was an entire thread devoted to it here on ss.com right after the loss to BC. So, I am not entirely sure what you are trying to prove there.
  9. Umm, no. He sure didn't get much help with all the odd-man rushes that BC was getting. The first two BC goals were amazing shots, into the far side, off the post and in. Another BC goal was a deflection of a Sioux players stick. Another one was a breakaway. Yes, if he was having a better game he might have stopped one or two of those goals, but I'm not about to blame the entire loss on him. Hockey is a team game. Where was the defense on those odd-man rushes and the breakaway? It certainly wasn't his best game, but saying that he 'cost us the game' is taking it a bit too far IMO.
  10. Agreed on both.

  12. And how did that help them toward the end of the season?
  13. The thread is titled Early Outs, not UND Early Outs.

    NHL draft news

We heard this same argument about Mueller last year. "He's always wanted to be a Gopher." Well, that didn't work out. The situations are different with every player. No one knows what they are thinking, or what the team that drafted them is thinking. That said, I believe that Erik Johnson will play at least one year at UMN.

  16. Where did he play college hockey?
  17. Yeah, I can't see why we would want a kid picked the WI HS POTY on the Sioux... Does it help at all if he plays next season in the USHL?
  18. Good posts, Stack. With how you have it laid out there, I could see both Marto and LaPoint in the USHL next season. With our returning dmen, and the addition of Bina, that would be our 6 dmen there with Genoway and Alexander backing them up and pushing them. For the forwards, I assume that Trupp will play another year in the BCHL, and possibly Forney going to the USHL for a season.
  19. If Marto stays in the USHL for another season, does that mean that LaPoint is coming to UND this fall, or playing in the USHL as well? Is that for sure about Forney, or just speculation on your part?
  20. I too am wondering if either Marto or LaPoint will come in next season, or if Bina will essentially take Smaby's spot in the lineup. Wonder which one the coaches would bring in if they can only bring one.
  21. I haven't seen the entire schedule yet, but from what Hakstol said on the last Coaches Show, we will have Manitoba for the season exhibition opener, then have Quinnipiac coming to the Ralph to open the regular season.

    Hobey Oshie?

Those rankings are for one point in time. So when the Blues drafted Oshie, the ranking of their prospects also includes members of their AHL teams, etc, so those players will obviously be ranked above a player that just graduated HS. Now, with Oshie's great frosh season at UND, his ranking has skyrocketed above players that are currently playing for their AHL affiliate.
  23. That's because of the style of hockey that they play.... oops, I've said too much.
  24. That would definitely hurt SCSU's chances next year. If Bobby leaves, I can't see SCSU finishing above 7th next season.
