Yes, I would guess Portz & Schmaltz for sure, and then maybe 1-2 of Costantini/Kunz/Bowen. If two of those three don't mind delaying with the addition of Ford and maybe one more portal forward (Cruikshank?), that would be the five incoming forwards. Yes he was only a junior this year. So Ford we would get for one year, while Cruikshank still has his senior year and the "extra" year left for eligibility.

Yes, that's the rumor going around. Solid coaching move this morning too from Sandy to get those UMass players kicked out of the F4. He picked the right ones too, the last thing you want is to face the opposing teams starting goalie and top goal scorer.

Duluth’s luck in this tournament the last few years is ridiculous. I hope UMass takes them out even without their players.

Now goalie Driscoll from BSU in the portal. He'd be another good get, he's always been a strong goalie.

There's definitely some quality players in the portal and decent goalies that hopefully Berry is after regardless of what Thome is doing. Schloss had a good article today about that. Galajda from Cornell would be a great goalie pickup, although he hasn't played in a year. Getting Cruikshank and the two more talented BG players would be a great way to offset some of the losses.

An under-achieving 8-time national title hockey program? Think of our run from 1980-1987...three titles in those years, similar to the run that Duluth is on right now. Every high end program goes through those ebbs and flows, and yes...it takes a bit of puck luck to end the season with a title banner. UMD got lucky this year having a first round bye as a lower seed a day after UND played the late game. And they got lucky that any one of the several OT post shots by UND didn't go in. But that's hockey. I certainly don't view our program as "underachieving". That's not what I remember. But, hey, to each their own.

Agreed there are some quality players available that will be sought after by many teams. Many of the top teams are losing players early...UND just needs to get better as the season progresses and then win a couple games (or one depending on COVID ) to make the F4. Weatherby, Gaber, Sanderson, Kleven, Frisch...that's a quality core group. Someone get in Adams and maybe Mismash ear about spending their extra year of eligibility back at UND for another crack at it.

Well never mind. 2 of the 3 already gone just a couple hours later. The key to next season will be just making it to the NCAAs. Then anything can happen. Gonna have to replace a lot of talented players first.

Agreed. That trio would be a massive start to a good year next season. That portal has got to have some nice junior/senior dmen that Berry could have his pick of.
