  1. I'm not getting to "The Lou"
  2. I think you mean, too bad for them. He was a fun player to watch, but I won't be too disappointed to see him leave.
  3. I just came across this insider video of some BC hockey....hopefully Hak has this video going at all times in his office so he can pick up any of their weaknesses... Click Here Friggin' Nor'easterners...
  4. We're not all in the same boat as you...
  5. Speaking of Doug Flutie... How similar is Doug Flutie in football to Ryan Duncan in hockey. I think how their careers have gone to the same point (and how Ryan's is headed) are eerily similar. Hopefully Ryan can share some of the same success at the professional level also...after four years of course. The very undersized, and vastly underrated Doug Flutie won the Heisman Trophy in 1984. 23 years later, will the very undersized, and vastly underrated Ryan Duncan win the Hobey Baker...? By week's end, we'll know! I can't wait to get my box of "Duncan-O's"
  6. Which is pretty much what I said. However, I don't agree with your Best All-Around player, b/c there are other factors that go into it than on-ice performance.
  7. Should we go back to wood sticks too?
  8. For those who are more of traditionalists.... I don't see what the big deal about a new, better performing jersey is, even if it is black. It's not like the Sioux have had the same jersey for 40 years or something. They aren't like the Yankees, Packers, Bears, etc...where they've had the same looking uni's forever. I don't see how black can be such a problem. Green is nice, but why is it important? It's not like there is no green on the jersey. Also, it's not like they will be wearing it in the National Championship, because they won't be.
  9. Read the posts, I answered your question.
  10. How much is he charging? PM me if you have to..
  11. Just to add to what you said: Brown also faced less than 20 shots per game if I remember right. However, winning their conference convincingly does help. Ehn also faced Minnesota...and nearly won for that matter. I understand that the award shouldn't have any added influence by background and whatnot, but voters may lean towards Ehn because he is in the Air Force and Hobey died flying a plane in France for the military in WWI. Also, this is the first time a player from their conference has been one of the finalists, not sure how much of a bearing that will have. As for Duncan. He has been the cornerstone of this team the whole season. However, you can say the same thing for Duncan as you can for Ehn in the fact that we WERE losing in the first half of the season despite Duncan's numbers. You can say we'd be much worse off without him, but same goes with Ehn. It was when Lammy and Oshie got healthy, and Toews got back from the World Jrs. I say it's really a split decision with any...my guess is that it's between Ehn and Duncan though. Hopefully the voters aren't swayed away from having another WCHA winner though after recent years.
  12. I grew up in Wisconsin...a part of Wisconsin that doesn't really acknowledge hockey (not even the Badgers). But after coming up here, I've fallin' in love with hockey. That's all I talk about, think about, read about, etc...Sioux hockey. I missed two home games this entire year...one was the Saturday night St. Cloud game. I was actually on my way there, but had to attend to my (ex) girlfriend. The other was Friday night Duluth game, where I couldn't get out of work at all. I had oppurtunities to go home for Thanksgiving, and Christmas, and didn't go. I stayed to watch hockey. The moment the Mankato tickets went up for sale for the WCHA playoffs, I was buying tickets. I went by myself. I'd go to any reasonable away game, but money is always short. I wish in the worst way I could go to St. Louis, even by myself. (If anyone can help me out with lodging and travel, let me know...reasonably). Also, by the time I graduate, I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to buy a cow head from a butcher and throw it on the ice for a Mankato game. Haha, I dunno if that's hardcore, or just sick, but I want to do it either way. I read every Sioux article. I watch (and re-watch) every Sioux highlight. Last year I was one of the 50 people that camped out for Frozen Four tickets. This year it wasn't worth it b/c you can get tickets at face value still. I don't know if I'm hardcore or not, don't care. I just love Sioux hockey!
  13. I think what you're trying to say is that they don't retain water....they still get wet and whatnot....I don't think they are Teflon coated or anything (then again I could be wrong). My gut feeling is that black will be the color we see our boys in come Thursday. On a side note...Maine and Michigan State also have access to the same jerseys, so who knows, we may see them in theirs also.
  14. The Sioux first wore the jerseys at their Christmas tourney. From their things started to turn. They stuck with them and haven't lost yet when wearing them. They're like the 6th (or 7th for that matter) man on the ice it seems. Whether it's the unique fit, breathability and overall better jersey, or just pure coincidence, the Fighting Sioux are flat out a whole 'nother team. See sig. On a side note, they WILL NOT wear the white jerseys on Saturady if they win on Thursday because the Sioux are guaranteed to be the home team in the National Championsip. That doesn't mean they won't have a home version of the same jersey available now... Also, you won't be seeing these jerseys for sale for at least another hockey season because the team had to decide by a certain deadline whether or not they wanted to wear them permanently and didn't answer in time. So, they still might be our permanent jerseys for next year, but aren't going to be for sale either way until the 2008-09 season. That's what I've heard anyways.
  15. Just because it's listed as showing under the HD Channels does not mean it will be in HD. They often-times show programs that are not shown in HD, but still played on the HD channels. I would expect it to be in standard resolution considering college hockey is not a big enough event, but there's always hope!
  16. This morning, Riley Nash of the Salmon Arm Silverbacks in the BCHL announced his official decision to attend UND for the 07-08 season. What a great way to wake up this Sunday! GO SIOUX! Link: CLICK HERE WOOHOO!
  17. There's nothing wrong with that! I was coming home from North Carolina this past weekend during the regional final, and landed in Minneapolis (sporting my lucky sioux t-shirt and hat). I ran to the nearest TV in the airport with the game on, which was a TGI Fridays, and got there a minute and a half before the Porter goal. Couldn't have been any better than being in front of a bunch of Goofer fans when they get Porterized.
  18. It didn't take a cartoon wallpaper for some to figure that out, haha
  19. You're my new hero! Miller Lite - Great Taste, Less Filling - Good Call! No, I didn't make the picture...you know who'd be on top if I did! EDIT: I forgot to mention my lucky Nike Sioux Hockey T-Shirt. I've worn a multitude of other things, but none have the same success rate. When we gave up two goals in the final minute to tie earlier this year, I didn't have the t-shirt on...that's one example.
  20. I was just wondering this after looking at my superstitious wallpaper I have. Ever since I put it as my background on my computer, the Sioux went on their streak. It's actually a Wisconsin hockey wallpaper, but I thought it looked cool so I put it up. But, then after the Sioux started winning, I decided to leave it, and it's been there ever since. I know, I know...it's kind of a Badger thing. I just thought it was cool cuz it had all the WCHA teams in a unique picture. Sorry What do you do to help the Sioux out in your own little way?
  21. After re-watching the post-Minnesota game press conference again, I got one more idea for it...hehe.
  22. Sounds good enough for me...as long as he's wearing a Sioux jersey in the future.
  23. Since, as far as I know, David Toews isn't even a verbal commitment yet, how sure can we be that he'll want to play for the Sioux? Yeah, Jon does play here. Yeah, it's closer to Winnipeg. Yeah, UND would be an awesome fit. But, that doesn't guarantee he'll come here. Maybe I'm missing something...?
  24. Didn't catch that the first time...not sure if this is a good thing that Frattin scored...or a bad thing that it was Eidsness that gave it up! Haha
