  1. Wow, people overreacting to an early season loss. Who would have thought. Probably the same ones that freaked out when we got throttled by Maine early last year, then thought there was no possible way the Sioux would lose to Michigan. Doesn't surprise me in the least, because these will be the same ones that are smack talking fans of other teams when things are going well.

I dont think people are overreacting. It is flat out embarrasing to get throttled by BC once again and this time in your own barn. It sucks to know they just lick their chops every time they play the Sioux

  2. BC comes into our barn and embarasses us again. 6-2 I mean come on, that is pathetic. BC lost a ton of talent as well to early departures and graduation. So the "young" card does not stick. Sioux were playing at home. BC fans must just laugh when they see the Sioux on the schedule. This has really become flipping ridiculous!

  3. Like I said pay the kids. Ya really think they cheated? The one brother is outside so dad sends the other one on the ice so he doesn't hold the game up. Ya really think they thought he had better chance at making it than his twin brother. The insurance is payed for so I still say pay em up. Dad did the right thing by saying it was the wrong son now it's their turn to do the right thing and pay them.

I disagree....why should they pay him...he was not the contestant that was called.....let one of those millionaire hockey players pay it if they so choose....rules are rules

  4. yes, the have played down in the ft myers area before I believe...

Hope it works out but that i s about the worst place to have a frozen four....I understand trying to spread college hockey and all but.....will be an easy ticket for those teams fortunate enough to make it

  5.

JT Miller is a piece of !@#$....to leave the coaches hanging two and a half months before the season starts and to bail is ridiculous. I wish him nothing but the worst in the OHL

  6. I especially enjoyed the classy canadian fans that booed during the US national anthem before. Game 7... :(

I have watched and listened to the replays of the anthems on you tube and did not hear one bit of booing for the US anthem.

  7. Sorry to disappoint you, but the Cup will be in Canada most of the summer when the mostly Canadian Bruins players take it to their home towns.

That is fine but the two most important players on the team....Conn Smythe Thomas and Captain Chara are NOT CANADIAN!

  8. The Canucks are only one win away from closing out the series, yet I'm still nervous. Although I have no strong feelings for or against Vancouver, as a Penguins fan I cringe at the thought of seeing Boston end their drought. After seeing Tim Thomas use his goalie stick as a weapon in Game 4 (what a cheap hack he is) I think I'll throw up in my mouth if I see him hoist the Cup. But I'm afraid that's exactly what is going to happen. Each of the three games that the Canucks won easily could have gone either way, while the two games that the Bruins won were by a combined score of 12-1. I feel that there's no question the Bruins have been the better team so far in this series and I very much fear that they're going to win the next two games. I would be ecstatic to be proven wrong on this, but that's the gut feeling I have right now.

I respectully disagree totally that Tim Thomas is a "hack". Vancouver is the biggest bunch of babies/whiners I have ever seen in a Stanley Cup final. Please....

  9. I don't like reading things like this:

    Via twitter

Let's hope Hakstol's (UND's) reputation for developing NHL players provides enough satisfaction for the team that drafts Miller.

Yeah well whatever.....heresay never stood up in a court of law.....any potential draftee would say that. JT will be here

  10. I'm just hoping Mac will get his first goal this next season..... Love te way he plays. I'm on board will Rodwell being a beast next season as well. Always has ALOT of energy when he is on the ice. Seems 2 make things happen.

Again we have a Dell...if he plays as well as he did last year the squad will be just fine! D corps will be solid....scoring goals will be the big obstacle

  11. yup...

Obviously losing Gregoire really hurts. That being said once his decision lasted this long everyone could figure he was gone. The good news is we have a Dell and the D should be solid. Next years teams will depend on the productivity of the freshman forwards...which there are a lot of them. Along with the development of Nelson, Rodwell and Rowney. The cupboard is not bare just a lil depleted.

  12. Interesting that no one has looked at the question of early departures in the goaltending ranks from the other perspective. There is a strong possibility that Dell could turn pro after the season he just had. Lots of folks were looking at him in St. Paul.

Well if we lose Dell we are screwed!

  13. Thats my thoughts on Simpson too. I know he will get alot of playing time next year but they brought him in a year early for a reason. Alot of people thought he was a lock for being a top6 on the point this year. I guess we will see where he gets drafted and go from there. I wouldn't be suprised if he was playing major junior next year. I do look for him to make big strides from this year to next similar to Ben Blood's fresh-soph year.

My question is who the he*l do you sit this year so Simpson can play? Are you going to sit seniors for an 18 year old freshman in the frozen four..? I dont think so!

  14. Agree. Just sayin its hard to come in as a freshman and dominate. I've never seen Grimaldi but everything I've read about him sounds good. Still he's tiny and Nelson beat him out for the juniors spot.

Agreed...Zucker made the World Junior team as a 17 year old when won gold.....Grimaldi did not make the team this year as a 17 year old. Just saying he will have an adjustment to colleg hockey

  15. Forbort and Simpson will be getting all the ice they want next year. They'll both be top four D.

    Kristo?

Montreal wants to spend money on a guy who doesn't have the maturity and decision skills to dress for a -30F wind chill stroll?

Montreal would be better spending money on an autographed copy of "I Woke Up and Took Command of My Life" by Matt Frattin and giving it to Kristo.

Someone should send a copy to TJ Oshie in St. Louis also (as he was recently suspended by the Blues).

AGREED 100% couldn't be said better

  16. I have heard this as well. I am related to some huge Montreal Canadian followers in Winnepeg, that know more about the Habs than I can ever imagine (I don't know how they find out some of the NHL moves before they happen), but I got the word from them that it is only a matter of time before Kristo signs with them.

Please be wrong....please be wrong.....please be wrong.....

Well if that is the case good riddance Danny...it was a great run *sarcasm*. From all the articles I have read it was "always" his dream to play for the Sioux and to bail out after this year would be pretty weak in my opinion.

  17. I started one last year, so might as well start another one for next season. It will be a long offseason.

It is tough watching this year's group of seniors go out without winning the big one. They certainly were on fire at the end of the season, and they just got stoned by a stellar performance from Hunwick.

    Moving on to 2011-2012.

The roster is looking like this so far:

    Forwards (11):

    Jason Gregoire (SR) *

    Brett Hextall (SR)

    Mario Lamoureux (SR)

    Danny Kristo (JR) *

    Corban Knight (JR)

    Mike Cichy (JR)

    Carter Rowney (JR)

    Brett Bruneteau (JR)

    Brock Nelson (SO)

    Derek Rodwell (SO)

    Taylor Dickin (SO)

    Defense (6):

    Ben Blood (SR) *

    Andrew MacWilliam (JR)

    Joe Gleason (JR)

    Ryan Hill (JR)

    Derek Forbort (SO)

    Dillon Simpson (SO)

    Goalies (3):

    Brad Eidsness (SR) *

    Aaron Dell (JR)

    Tate Maris (JR)

    Possible Incoming Freshmen (8):

    Andrew Panzarella (D)

    JT Miller (F)

    Rocco Grimaldi (F)

    Mark MacMillan (F)

    Colten St. Clair (F)

    Brendan O'Donnell (F)

    Michael Parks (F)

    Nick Mattson (D)

*Potential Early Departure (4): Gregoire, Kristo, Blood, Eidsness

Maybe a surprise like Cichy leaving for MJ or something like that.

If no early departures happen, that would leave us with 17 forwards, 8 defensemen, and 3 goalies.

We'll be a younger team, but still very talented. Not as talented as this year...but sometimes those teams still go on to greatness. We'll easily have the best freshmen forward group in the nation with Grimaldi, Miller, MacMillan, St. Clair, O'Donnell, and Parks coming in. I would anticipate Grimaldi having a Zucker or Schwartz type of season for us.

Defense will be solid with Mac, Forbort, and maybe Blood being the anchors. Gleason will be the puck-mover. Mattson should get plenty of playing time as well. If Dell has another season like this year (tough to follow up this year), we could have another special team.

    Go Sioux!

You forgot about Dillon Simpson....I think he will be very good next year. He looked poised this year as a 17/18 year old freshman.
