I had the opportunity to see Sedevie play when he was with the Billings Bulls. Everytime they played Minot, he was in net and played solid. He had one extremely amazing game where he shut Minot out and faces a lot of tough chances down low and a lot of breakaways. I would assume, he has improved more even from then. Minot and Billings also played a seven game playoff series that year and I thought he was the difference for Billings in the wins. Sure, he had his off nights just like every other goalie, but when he had it going, it was tough to get things by him. I hope he can make a complete recovery from his injury and I can't wait to see him for the Sioux, hopefully he can be the next great goaltender to wear the Green and White.

That is a great article about Blake. A buddy of mine sent that to me a couple weeks ago. Another great night for Jason tonight against Boston, Goal and an assist. He has definitely found himself a home on the Isle.

Thanks for the updates PCM.

I agree all is not lost, but the Sioux are getting chances and just can't find the scoring touch right now and that is a bit frustrating because Ranfranz has played well for them and given them the chance to win. This is not the time of year to fade into the darness, you need to be pushing forward. I just wonder how many more weekends we can say, ok, we didn't get this one, but if we come out hard tomorrow we are in good shape. It is great to have confidence in them and I have not totally given up on them myself because I know they are capable of much more than this.

At this point I am willing to see anything happen to try and get the scoring going. I think splitting them up may make it a bit tougher for opponent D to just focus on one line, they will have to get solid play out of 2 D lines. I think a serious shake up is needed and I am all for trying anything right now.

I may be way wrong here, but I am tired also of hearing how well they have played, but have just run into some great goaltending. If you plan on winning in the NCAA's, you are going to run into great goaltending, and you need to find a way to score, and the bottom line is, the Sioux cannot score right now.

Where has the scoring gone for the Sioux, it is nonexistent anymore. Sounded like another solid game in net, but no help on the offensive side of the game.

Sounds again like Ranfranz is playing solid for the Sioux. Great to hear.

Prpich ties it at 1-1. Go Sioux!!!

All I know about Commodore is that he is in the Minors, which disappointed me, I thought he had a chance on the Ducks to play. I have seen Goren on the few times he has been brought up with Boston this year. He played well and has 2 goals and 1 assist in 10 games with the big club. In 49 games with Providence he has 22 goals, 26 assists and is +7. As far as Blake, someone from the Isle sent me an article a couple weeks back about him. They love him out there. Say he is a great guy to have on the team and that he plays with a lot of heart and has really stepped up his game and started scoring more like they knew he could. He is still a disturber, but they like that part of his game also. He gives them a full effort each night and Laviolette loves the guy from the article.

Great article, thanks for posting the link

First off, the administrator has a good point, and if the first post would have been read better, that was the jist of it also. I think you do a good job with this site and I like coming here because most people are here to talk hockey and the Sioux, and not a bunch of crap. Second, I say start Ranfranz also. I have no doubt that if Jake and Josh had A. More confidence as to who is the go to guy and B. Played better positional goaltending and didn't flop as much, they are good netminders. B is a little harder to correct and takes the willingness to put in the time with someone who knows the position. As far as confidence is concerned, a goalie cannot get confidence if they are always looking over there shoulder waiting for the ball to drop and get benched again. It seems like everytime someone gets the chance, then they are yanked after one poor, or even mediocre game. Did Michigan Tech come right back with Ellsworth on Saturday night after the Sioux clobbered him Friday? Yes they did and he responded. I am not comparing talents between Jake, Josh or Ellsworth, I am just pointing out that Ellsworth has the confidence that it is his job even when he screws up a bit. Ranfranz has played solid every game he has been in, and please correct me if I am wrong here. Saturday night was not his loss, your team needs to score more than a goal to win a game. With the other two in, it just seems like the Sioux need to put 3-5 up on the board to win, and that is not going to happen every night. I say give Ranfranz the chance until he proves that we need to put up big offensive numbers for the Sioux to win with him in net. Didn't he come in relief Saturday night in Grand Forks against CC and give the Sioux the chance for the tie?

Ryan got his first NHL point with an assist on a Sean Hill goal in the third. He finished +1 with 2 shots and looked a lot more comfortable out there tonight. Nice second game for him, look forward to seeing him play more often.

Some between period banter here. Watched Bayda tonight with Carolina, he looked much more comfortable out there tonight and got his first NHL Assist and was +1 with a couple shots. Nice game for Ryan, good to see him up in the big show.

Is anybody able to watch this on tv? I was just wondering because I was interested if anybody could see how Ranfranz is doing, positioning wise and such.

Just wanted to thank PCM and all the others who have been giving the updates on the game on here. The radio feed online blows, and USCHO is tough to get on, so this is cool. Thanks for your work it is much appreciated. GO SIOUX!!!!

In no way am I soley blaming the loss, or any losses on the goaltending. I am pointing out that there is no room for error on this team because the Sioux don't have solid goaltending. I could be way off, but I think some of the sloppy play by the D lately could also be because they are getting tired at this stage of the season. They have spent most of the year bailing out the goaltending on many occassions. Again I state at some point, one of these guys is going to have to steal a game for the Sioux and I don't think they can do it, just my opinion though and if I am proven wrong, great I would love to be and will be the first to say so.

I can't speak for Goon on the subject, but I don't blame the loss last night totally on Josh. I think the point that is being made here, is that the goaltending is not even close to championship calibre, whereas, the rest of the team is. Granted, the whole team played like crap last night and that sucked, but it does happen from time to time in a season. My concern isn't based just on last night though, it is on the entire season and what will happen down the stretch here. In a single elimination tournament, you have to have the type of goaltending that can steal a game for you if the rest of the team is off a bit, and the Sioux don't have that. Even if the rest of your team is on come tourney time, you can run into another hot goalie who pretty much shuts your team down to 1-2 goals. The Sioux won't win a game like that because our tenders will let in 3-5 goals. My frustration comes from the Sioux staff doing a great job recruiting the other positions really well, but have just forgot about goaltending and now we have a team that could win it all, but probably won't because of our goaltending. Why can't one of the top programs bring in a netminder that is solid? I think that is the area of concern for some of us.

This may be a very dumb question to ask, but weren't the Sioux supposed to get Mike Commodore's brother one of these years? What happened to that, I have looked around, but have found nothing. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Parise-Bochenski-Bayda. Wow, that would have been a pretty darn fun line to watch play hockey. Oh well, I hope Ryan gets a shot at the big's sometime soon. I always enjoyed watching him play.

Had the privelege of watching the AHL All-Star game, and yeah, Karl was pretty darn good. So much for being too small to be able to compete. He kept the Planet USA team in the game the entire third period with some amazing saves. Good to see a good guy doing well.

I agree that there were positives to this weekend for the Sioux. The obvious one being the PK. I dont' know, maybe I am on crack, but I didn't think Brandt played that awefully bad Friday night. The Sioux put up zero pressure in the last 2 periods and he did make some saves. Season is by far not over yet, the Sioux have to hunker down and get ready to play next weekend and put this in the back of their mind and save it for if they meet CC again. Sioux can still finish a solid second, and you never know what can happen to CC down the stretch. From what I saw this weekend, unlikely they will fold, but hey, it has happened before to teams. Disappointing to get swept and to not have played more solid, but that is hockey and I am sure the Sioux will be back. Does anyone know what was going on behind the Sioux bench?
